Hit. He was hit.
Alex's vision blacks out around the edges and by the time he hit the ground he couldn't see anything.
"No! No, My Love!" Regulus cried desperately as Alex fell unconscious from the killing curse.
He was powerless to do anything but watch as he fell lifeless to the ground. Regulus's ghost looked at the lifeless body, his heart breaking in two, one going with Alex.
"My Love, no... You can't die!" He spoke once more, a desperate, frantic cry. "Alexander, please live! I can't lose you... my love."
Amidst Regulus's panic, Alex's soul rises from his body and looks at his own corpse, then at his now translucent hands. Then at his fiance. Alex reaches out, being met with the soft skin of Regulus's face.
Regulus was startled by the sudden touch and looked up at him. His eyes widened as he saw Alex's soul floating above the unmoving body. His soul form reached up and brushed away a strand of hair that had fallen over Alex's eyes. "My love, I'm so sorry." Regulus spoke softly, his voice breaking as tears welled in his eyes. He seemed so desperate to hold again.
"No, no, no tears, it's okay. I killed like, 100 Death Eaters, I'm happy."
"It is not okay. You cannot accept death just like that, dearest." Regulus implored with a concerned expression on his face. "You cannot leave the mortal realm, you have so, so much to live for."
He caressed Alex's face gently, he still couldn't accept that this was it. "Alex, my love, you must fight! You cannot give in!"
"Reggie, I'm dead. And so are you. This was my purpose. To be a pain in the arse to everyone, including and especially Voldemort, because I think I just took out a lot of Death Eaters."
Regulus just could not understand why Alex wasn't resisting this. How could he just accept death so peacefully?
The sadness that consumed his expression turned into an expression of admiration. "Alex, my dear, your bravery amazes me." Regulus spoke proudly. "If you did in fact kill off 100 Death Eaters... No. There is no way I'm letting you stay dead! You heard Mary, Pandora, hell even Remus! Life isn't something to throw away!"
"Alex, you must fight."
"Okay, my body is quite literally dead, what do you want me to do? I have no effect on theoryal realm and neither do you! It's okay, my love, I can accept this."
"I don't know, but I do know that I cannot allow you to go. I cannot let you fade away like the wind."
Regulus was so very desperate, grasping at straws now. "I cannot let you go after everything you have already given up."
"There has to be something that we can do. I won't accept your death... I can't. I just... I can't."
Alex ignores him, walking towards the door of the room I died in. It's a light.
Regulus was startled that his pleas were completely ignored. He followed after Alex and grabbed his arm gently as he walked towards the light. "Alex, My Love. Please do not."
Regulus was desperate to hold him once more. "Why are you walking into the light? You're meant to fight death, not accept it!" He spoke softly, pleading Alex's case once more.
"Give me your hand, my love."
"My hand? What do you mean, my dear?" Regulus spoke quietly as he held Alex's arm. "Do you mean... You wish to hold my hand and walk through the light with me?"
"Alex, my love. I cannot, I have to stay here. I'm not ready to let you go. I can't watch you accept death." He pleaded. There was a hint of desperation in his voice as Regulus spoke. "My love, if you do this I wont be able to live." He spoke softly.
"Wait. If this is the light and you see it too you haven't walked through it yet. You haven't found peace yet. You were waiting. You lied to me. Why would you lie?" Alex says, genuinely hurt.
"And as for me not walking through the light, you are right. I don't want to be in heaven without you, Alexander. But I still need you to live."
"If you can't find peace without me by your side, well I'm here! And I can't go back! So if you're not following me, I've got people on the other side I need to hug." Alex says, taking another step to the light with a cheeky smirk.
Regulus gave the smallest of smiles, "My love..." There was more logical sense in that then he originally thought. A small, yet noticeable glow around his form grew brightly as Regulus nodded and began to walk towards the light.
"My love... I'm proud and honored to have been your fiancé."He spoke softly, he had no plans on turning back, nor could he. It was time for Regulus Black to finally... Let go and find his peace. He turned to you once more, "Good bye, my darling".
"Wait, wait, wait, if you know I'm gonna follow you anyway," Alex starts, grabbing his hand,"why not go together?"
The second his hand was grabbed Regulus stopped, his eyes brightened. He was so happy Alex were following. "Yes, my dove. If we are destined to be together. I shall not leave your side, and I will never let your light burn out. Forever." Regulus continued to walk with you through the light.
"Forever." Alex repeats.
And Alex goes with him.
