Flashback
Barty
The ticktock of the grandfather clock was the only sound Barty could hear. He cracked his fingers as he paced outside of his Father’s office. Where was Bast when he needed him? This was his idea in the first place. How the hell is he going to tell his father that he was gay. The same man who beat the hell out of him when he came home with black polish on his fingernails. Of course, Barty tried to tell his father that he let a girl he was crushing on paint them. Bast cleaned him up after. It took everything for his best friend not to hurt his father.
Okay, Barty took a deep breath. ‘You can do this. If this goes bad. He has somewhere to go if his father doesn’t kill him first.
Barty knocked on the door with a shaky hand. This was it.
“Come in.” His father’s voice boomed from the other side of the door. It creaked as he walked in. Bookcases covered each wall. He didn’t know if his father had read all the books in his office.
“Father, do you have a minute?” Barty watched his father look up from the paperwork that littered his desk. He could see the look of irritation. The same look he had when he asked to speak with him.
“Yes, what is it, Barty? Make it quick; I have important matters to attend to.
Barty shook his head. This was a mistake, but he will not back down. Not anymore. He was 16 years old. He was almost an adult.
“Father, I’m gay,” Barty said it. He actually said it. His voice was steady.
For a moment, the room was silent. Barty's father widened before they narrowed into a furious glare. He stood up abruptly. His chair scraped loudly against the floor.
“Gay?” He spat, his voice filled with disgust. “How dare you bring this shame upon our family!”
Barty flinched but stood his ground. “It’s not shameful, Father. It’s who I am!”
The older man stepped toward him, his face twisted in anger. “Who you are? You are a Crouch! You have responsibilities. A legacy to uphold! This.. this perversion has no place in our family!”
”Father, please,” Tears burned his eyes as he pleaded. His voice cracked. “I need you to understand.”
“Understand?” His father roared, cocking back his fist. “I understand perfectly. You are a disgrace!”
Before Barty could move, his father’s fist slammed into him. The force of the block knocked him off balance. Barry stumbled, pain seared through his cheek.
”You will not disgrace our name!” His father hissed. “YOu will forget these ridiculous notions and do as you are told.” His fist hit him again. This time he heard and felt a crack. Blood poured from his nose.
A tear escaped his eyes. “I can’t change who I am, Father,” he groaned. Barty swallowed and wiped his nose. “And I won’t”
“Then you are no son of mine,” his voice trembled with rage. “Get out. You are no longer my son!”
Barty rushed out of his father’s study. His mother gasped from the hallway. Tears poured down her cheeks. She ran up to him and cupped his cheeks.
Barty looked at his mother. He knew she wouldn’t go against his father.
“Barty...” Her voice cracked. Barty dodged her and ran out of the house. He jumped on his bike, the one thing his father didn’t buy him. Prez gave him a job and used the money to purchase the bike. He had to rebuild it, but it was his.

Rock blared as Bast worked on a car that was giving him trouble. It was about time to close for the day. Fenrir was talking with Roddy.
His mind drifted to Barty. He was going to tell his father today. He felt horrible because he pushed him to do it. Maybe he shouldn’t have, but if he didn’t do it Barty would be married in a couple years to a woman that his dick of a father hand-picked. Barty did not deserve the way his father treated him.
A familiar bike rumbled into the garage. Bast threw the dirty flannel on the floor. When he walked out, he saw Barty stumble off the bike. Blood and bruises covered his face. A growl rumbled out of his chest.
Bast ran and helped him stand. “What did that fucker do!” He cupped his best friend's bruised cheek. Barty shook his head.
“He did what I thought he would do. I am no longer his son. He kicked me out.” Barty’s eyes were red. He hated that look on his face. He was his first and only friend.
“You have a family. We are your family. Me, Roddy, and everyone else.” Bast pressed their foreheads together.
“Bring him over here Bast,” Severus called over. Bast looked over to Prez's son. Yeah, he might not truly be his son but everyone knows how their prez feels about Severus. He has been with Prez since he was a child.
“Come on Barty. Let's get you clean up and then get you something to eat. I’m fuckin starving.” Barty chuckled sadly.
“You are always starving.”

Barty
He loves his best friend. Of course, he loves his best friend. What he didn’t love, was the girls that came through a revolving door. Of course, they were 20 years old. They were going to be having sex. Well everyone but him.
20 year old virgin. Not for long tonight is the night. There were plenty of guys that would hit on him at the bar. He never did anything because he was stupid. Loving a man who wasn’t even gay!
Barty walked into the bar. The smell of smoke and beer flooded his nose. He looked and saw that Bast already had two women on him. Don’t look at him.
Barty looked over to the bar and saw Antonin. His black hair was hooked behind his ears. There had been many times he tried to get Barty. He was a part of the death eaters but he was the scariest. Prez had threatened to kick him out many times.
Bart felt himself walk over to the bar. Their eyes locked.
“Hey, beautiful.” Barty felt himself blush. Of course, he would blush. Don’t act like a virgin.
“Hey,” Barty dug deep down for his confidence and picked up the other man’s drink. He took a sip and saw a smirk on Antonin’s face.
“I would have bought you one beautiful if you just ask.” Barty drained the drink.
“I hoped that we wouldn’t be here long enough for me to have my own drink.” Shite.. he did it…
An elegant eyebrow raised as Antonin licked his bottom lip. Oh fuck he was hot. Not as hot as Bast but, Barty shook his head don’t think about him not right now.
“Then let’s go to my place. Do you want me to drive or?”
“I’ll take my own bike.” Barty wouldn’t be stuck at Antonins. This was just sex.
“Perfect I’ll meet you there.” Antonin pulled him into a sloppy kiss. Thankfully it wasn't his first kiss.
Barty watched him as he walked out the door. He went to follow when he felt a hand on his arm.
“What are you doing?” Bast turned him around; it was hard enough to knock him over. His beautiful eyes glared into his. How dare he ask. Bast did this all the time.
“What does it look like I’m doing Bast? Now I’ll see you at home later. Please make sure that you are actually in your room. I don’t feel like seeing you with those two women tonight. I’ve seen enough breast for a lifetime.” Barty pulled away from Bast and walked out the door. Only to be stopped again by his best friend.
“Barty, are you sure you want to do this with Antonin? He is...”
”I know who he is Bast! It is not any of your business who I fuck! I have never told you who you could fuck! So piss off!” Barty pushed away from Bast. He jumped on his bike and made his way to Antonin’s flat.
Barty sat on the edge of Antonin’s bed. A mixture of excitement and nervousness. The room was dimly lit, shadows cast across the room. It gave it an intimate but almost eerie feel.
“Barty,” Antonin crooned, “are you sure about this?”
Barty took a breath before he nodded. “Yeah, I’m sure,” his voice wasn’t confident.
The other man moved closer and brushed his hair from Barty’s forehead. “Good,” he kissed him.
Barty kissed him back, but as he deepened the kiss. It felt wrong. This isn’t how he wanted to lose his virginity. He broke the kiss. “Wait... I,” he whispered.
Antonin’s face darkened. “What do you mean wait? You wanted this.”
”I... I don’t think...” Antonin grabbed his wrist and pulled him closer.
”You can’t just change your mind like this.” He growled as he squeezed harder.
“Antonin, please,” Barty isn't getting out of here. This was how he was losing his virginity.
“You’re not going anywhere,” Antonin hissed as he pushed him back onto the bed. He pinned him down. “We’re not done here.”
Barty felt his breath quicken. His heart pounded in his chest. “Let go of me!” Barty shouted he wouldn’t listen.
The door of the flat burst open. Bast stormed in. His eyes blazing. “Get off him!”
Antonin turned, “Bast, this is none of your business. Why the hell did you burst down my door!”
”It is my business,” Bast replied. In a few steps, he was across the room. He grabbed Antonin by the shoulder and yanked him off Barty. “He said no!”
He watched as Bast stood in front of him and Antonin. “Barty get out of here,” he grumbled. “Now!”
“I’m not leaving without you.” Barty wouldn’t. He knew Bast's temper would get him hurt.
“If you come near him again. I will kill you where you stand and not think anything about it. You may be scary, but I’m scarier.” Bast pulled him from the room. Neither of them said a word. He got on his bike, and Bast got on his.
The next day Antonin came up missing. Barty never asked any questions. They didn’t speak of this ever again.
Present day
Barty
The bedroom door creaked open. Barty groaned and turned over. He wasn't asleep. He couldn’t sleep. Not since what happened with Bast at work.
“Barty?” Bast called from the door. Barty rolled his eyes and sat up.
“What do you want, Bast? It’s,” He looked at the clock and it was only midnight. ”Midnight.”
Bast walked into the room. He sat down on the bed next to him. Barty watched Bast lick his bottom lip. Those lips that were on his not that long ago.
“You have been avoiding me, again. Why?” Bast's knee bounced. “I... fuck Barty. This... we...”
“We what Bast? We are best friends. That is never going to change. No matter what. I am afraid of what has been going on. You are acting strange. What... What we did...”
Bast cupped his cheeks and kissed him. A moan escaped his mouth. God how he wanted to deepen that kiss but they needed to chat. He pushed the taller man away.
“Bast...” Barty watched as Bast stood up and paced the room. His fingers tugged at his hair. “I... fuck I need you. Barty. I know it might be a co-dependent relationship. I can’t think of you with anyone else. I can’t be with anyone else. It’s me and you. It’s always been me and you.”

Barty looked up at him with those beautiful eyes. His Barty, how could he not want to be with his Barty. His feeling has grown, or has it always been there? It’s always been Bast and Barty.
“Bast,” Barty stood up. Fuck he was just wearing those fucking boxer briefs. “Do you, I mean. I can’t..” He hated the look on his Barty’s face. What he hates even more is he is the reason why.
“Please... please don’t. I hate when you get that look on your face. This is crazy and I know you don’t believe me or maybe you are scared.” He held his breath as Barty walked up to him. He felt Barty’s arms wrap around his neck. He pulled Bast down so their foreheads pressed together.
“You have always had me, Bast. Through everything it was you. I am scared to do this and lose our friendship.” Bast shook his head and opened his mouth. Barty placed a finger on his lips. He kissed it gently. “But I can’t say no Bast. I want this. I want you.”
It was as if the breath was stolen from his chest. Barty wanted this. No more fighting his feelings. Bast slid his hand to Barty’s neck and pulled him into a kiss. He poured everything he wanted to say.
“You are mine, Barty. All mine now. I am never leaving your side.” Bast pressed gently kisses on Barty’s lips.
Barty huffed a laugh. “Like you left my side much before.”
“I guess I’ve always known you are mine.”
