A transylvanian welcome

Anna was filled with pain. Her head ached from the cuts on her forehead, her legs hurt from all that running and her arms  throbbed in anguish from all that stabbing. Who knew being a vampire slayer was so exhausting!  Stumbling through the edge of the transylvanian woods, the young slayer was now in a very tricky predicament. She had been taken out of the country illegally and so had no passport to take her home. However stupid she was not. Before leaving castle Ybbob (yes the lazy oath had named the castle after himself, what else do you expect from a man) Anna had looted the place of all coins, cash and valuables she could carry. Her stash included over 1000 lei (the transylvania currency), four pearl necklaces and a very pretty set of Ruby bloodstone earrings which would fetch a good price as a collectors piece back home. Speaking of, how was she going to get there? She supposed that if she tracked far enough she could probably find some sort of hostel willing to take her for a small fee. Though she didn't much like the idea of spending the night so far from home. She was a small, feeble American girl for goodness sake! You never knew what kind of monsters lurked in the darkness! And in her line of work, the vampires weren't the worse she could encounter; men were.  She was coming up to 21 next year but that seemed to only encourage the creeps more. No, she needed to get back to America tonight! Even if that meant forging a passport and flying there illegally.  And that's just what she did.  One well crafted lie (and far too many hours of shouting English at transylvanian flight attendants pretending to be a tourist) later, she was home free on her way back to Philadelphia. She couldn't wait to flop down on her plush double bed with her plump cushions and just relax. She sat down on the poorly cushioned seats outside the only gate of this small, ramshackled airport, thankful for the rest. Her breathing shallowed and began to regulate for the first time since the hours leaving the castle. She was still on edge and perhaps that was why the hair on the back of her neck began to rise and an unnatural chill shot down her spine. Her shoulders instinctively rolled back to eliminate the panic bubbling in her core however the sensation didn't cease. Her eyes began to dart around her, eyeing her surroundings with trepidation. However, upon failing to spot the cause behind her sudden distress, her mind wandered back to her warm comfortable bed in her room back home. Before she knew it, an announcement rang through the building and (despite not speaking a word of Romanian) Anna figured she ought to pile onto the plane with the other few passengers who flew at this time of night. Somehow she had secured first class seats on the plane. The front is completely deserted apart from her. It was rare she was alone nowadays and surely hundreds of feet in the air she would be safe, right? Slowly as she stared out the window, her guard dropped and she finally felt safe for the first time in months- maybe years. Her muscles loosened, and her mind began to pool though the events of the night. She had started off on a "surprise date" with her latest of kills, Bobbie the quarterback of the Philadelphia flavours. He had then stolen her away out of the country illegally and attempted to feed her to his "lover". Admittedly he did seem to love Esmerelda, however it was painfully obvious to anyone who had eyes that she was stuck with him due to her not knowing any better. Maybe if she had been alive closer to Anna's age, or possibly if Anna had not been chosen, the two would have been quite the couple. Esmerelda was pretty enough and certainly seemed her type. Though her parents certainly would have a few things to say about her eloping with a 200 year old vampire, even if she was stunning. Not to mention she had a husband!  Her attention was drawn to the small, broken telescreen in front of her as it buzzed to life playing, on the static-coated screen , the first of the twilight movies. Wonderful! Just to add insult to injury! Rolling her eyes Anna attempted to switch it over to something else - anything else - and when that inevitably failed she tried to turn it off. Upon failing again, she slammed her fist into the screen in a feeble act of defeat before skulking back into her seat, returning again to the calmness  of her wandering mind looking over the rapidly disappearing scenery. She felt her heart steady and her eyelids began to close of their own accord. She attempted to fight it only briefly before her mind calmed almost unnaturally and pulled her deep into a dreamless sleep. Before her consciousness left her completely she felt a strange sensation upon her cheek as if she was being stroked by some invisible hand and cradled to sleep by an unknown force. An elegant voice echoed through the blank subconscious mind of the young slayer. It was soft yet biting as if a cruel mockery of the flutey voice she had once had. "Come, darling. It is time I teach you a thing or two." A cruel sadistic laugh bounced off the dark crevices of Anna's mind as she lay there, barely moving except the gentle rise and fall of her chest as an indication that she was alive.
