OMG IS THIS A JOKE?!

A familiar sensation overtook the slayer when she awoke. Head more than groggy, she attempted to wipe the sleep from her eyes before feeling a sharp twisting pain in her shoulder, shocking her awake. Turning her body left and right without much avail, she came to two conclusions:

1)she was once again bound to a chair with cloth gags in her mouth and eyes and

2) this time they had used stronger rope.

She thrashed at the rag in her jaw, succeeding to spit it out but not the one covering her eyes, rendering her almost entirely blind. Through the thick material she would have been able to make out vague shapes and movements in better lighting. Unfortunately for her, the room in which she found herself was entirely pitch black except for a single ray of moonlight which managed to escape through a small crack in the curtained window. The air tasted damp and smelled of old mother ten furniture and ..... iron?

Being entirely immobilised apart from hearing and voice, Anna found only one simple solution. The tried and true method of rescue. The slayer filled her lungs up with as much oxygen as she could carry and screamed as loud as she possibly could.

Did I say she wasn't stupid? Perhaps I underestimated her a little. She's allowed to be a little bit stupid, just this once.

And so the slayer -now captive- waited in silence to be rescued. The room was still, a stiffness clung to the air making her lungs feel dense. Her senses seemed to heighten in this new blind world She felt surrounded in, magnifying her hearing and smell. The faint buzz of silence consumed her almost overwhelmingly. Her ears ringed, her head throbbed and her throat ached from the horrific screeching she had subjected herself to. And she waited.

One minute passed…

Then two…

Then three…

Then what felt like an eternity.

Anna felt hopeless, Clearly she was receiving no help elsewhere. She thrashed her arms yet again only to realise she was tied not only at the wrist but at the Elbow aswell. She tried to pull herself free from her restraints regardless. Surely her superior Slayer strength would not fail her now. She tugged and yanked as hard as she could at her binds. Then suddenly

Pop!

A blood curdling, ear deafening Screech forced its way out of her lips. Agony scorched through her arms like a trail of wildfire. She had torn something, or dislocated it- she couldn't really tell. What she did know however is that she wouldn't be able to fight her way out of this chair in this condition. Her only hope now was to pray she was unheard by her captors yet having her cries reach the ears of some compassionate soul willing to reach out and rescue her. Unfortunately, she wasn't that fortunate.

The door slammed open, sending forth a beam of candlelight which ought to have blinded her if it wasn't for her eye covering. The gentle beat of leathery wings and sonorous screeches sounded into the room before a gentle Whoosh of air swirled around, tussling Anna’s hair ever so slightly.

Her breathing hitched. Her pulse quickened.

She recognised that sound.

No. No. No. No. No.

She was dead!

Anna had killed her!

How could she be here?!

A cold hand traced her hairline, the thumb curling just above her eyebrow ridge and digging the nail into the wound on her forehead - sending shivers down her spine. If she wasn't frozen in terror, perhaps she would have liked it.

A thin finger slipped gently into the small gap between the slayer’s temple and the gauze. The soft pressure caused an involuntary gasp from the recipient, prompting a small melodic chuckle from the provoker. Excruciatingly slowly, the hand removed the eyepiece, the nails dragging themselves over her eyes and leaving scratches as they did. It was not enough to bleed but just enough to leave a mark - a message, she was no longer in control.

The palm was freezing against her hot skin; Anna recoiled from the contact but felt her chin grasped by the other hand, holding her face still and obedient. Cover removed, her eyes adjusted to the low light momentarily before staring up at her captor defiantly. Hazel eyes roared as they clashed with the ruby eyes of the woman who trapped her, the woman who tricked her, the woman she had killed.

Esmerelda smirked as she pushed the cloth up and over the head of her latest sacrifice. With one hand she pulled the fabric over the messy ponytail of her captive and with the other she held her head back, looking into her eyes with a smile.

“Good Morning darling~. I'm glad you're awake, it'll make the next part so much more fun.”

Her melodic voice resonated within Anna's ears and had yet to sink in before the vampire clambered into her lap with a predatory grin.

“W- what are you-” Anna stuttered before being silenced, the air leaving her lungs before she could finish the sentence.

“Shhhhhhh~ just relax pet, it'll hurt less,” a hint of barbarism flashed in her eyes. The vampire dragged her talons down the slayer's throat, drawing out both a blood and a whimper, like a wounded doe.  “Then again, I want to hear you scream…”

Oxygen rushed back into Anna’s lungs as she felt a piercing in her throat, thrashing her around with whiplash and causing her to howl in pain. Her blood burned inside of her as she felt her lifeforce being ripped from her. She began to convulse wildly, attempting to push the parasite off of her but resulting in the fangs pressing deeper.  Her head began to grow heavy, her tongue dry and her throat hoarse with the constant screeches. Dark sports began to appear in her vision as , having her energy nearly fully depleted, she lent back into the hands which cradled her head, having snaked up the back on her neck. Not wanting to lose her new plaything just yet, Esmerelda took this as an indication to stop. She pulled her teeth from her toy, licking the wound closed almost with a kiss. She cupped Anna’s lolling head with both hands. Snaking her head back and forth, she ensured eye contact with her. Anna obeyed, mirroring the movement as if hypnotised.

“Are you alive? Blink once if yes.”

The slayer blinked groggily in response

“Good.” Esmerelda pushed herself off her lap, wiping the blood from her lips and licking it from her fingertips, never once breaking eye contact.

“Y-you're not going to kill me?”

“Of course not. Why waste a buffet on brunch? Besides, you almost killed me, you do not deserve the luxury of death.”

The passion and predatory glint in the vampire's eyes was gone. Now they were filled with nothing but discontent and disappointment. She looked almost disgusted at the state of the great Slayer.

“I had hoped for more. You didn't put up nearly as much fight as I had thought. Tsk,”  she scoffed, “you are a joke.”

Anna whispered something under breath, barely audibly.

“What was that?”

“I said ‘and you are a bitch!’ ”

A mutual hatred burned between them. Confidence rekindled anew by this comment, Anna sat proud (physically weak, but proud all the same) taunting her captur. She may be physically bound but if it was a fight she wanted, then a fight she would get.

Seemingly satisfied by this, Esmerelda chuckled softly with a sweep of her red velvet dress ascended the stairs once again and left the slayer alone in the darkness once more.

“Shit.”

Anna closed her eyes and threw her head back as a single tear fell down her cheek.
