Chapter 1
James got up pretty early in the morning as he planned on heading out to do some laps around the quidditch pitch. It was around 6:30 he hopped into the shower, letting the water run down his body before starting to wash his hair, washing his body after. Once he was done he turned off the water and got out, wrapping a towel around his waist. He dried himself before he got dressed into his quidditch uniform, grabbing his wand and broom before heading out to the quidditch pitch. There was a match in a week so he was trying to get all the practice he could in. He mounted his broom and flew up, doing a few laps around the pitch as he recited the game plan in his head, over and over again. By the time he was getting tired of doing laps and started to get hungry he had recited the plan about 26 times and done nearly 42 laps, he came down and headed up to his dorm so he could change. He got undressed, put on some deodorant and changed into a white button up and some pants before he fixed his hair, seeing everyone in the dorm had left he assumed they were all at breakfast so he put his wand in his bag, not expecting to need it. Grabbing his red converse and putting them on, he headed to the great hall, sitting down next to peter “you were up early” Remus commented as James put some food on his plate. “Yeah, I did some laps around the quidditch pitch”james replied with a smile, looking across the great hall, taking a glance at regulus as he started eating. Sirius was still half asleep as Remus had dragged him out of bed so he didn’t even notice James looking at his little brother. James ate quickly, occasionally glancing back at regulus. Little did James know that regulus was also glancing over at James from across the great hall. The four boys soon finished breakfast and Remus got up first, Sirius quickly following as peter and James got up together, walking at a much slower pace. Peter and James talking before they split up, Remus, Sirius and Peter going to class and james quickly went back to the dorm to get his bag, he put his bag on his back and ran to class so he wasn’t late, nearly colliding with regulus “I’m so sorry!” James shouted, steadying himself. “are you alright?” James added. “I’m fine” regulus answered with a slightly annoyed tone before walking off without another word. James shrugged it off and hurried to class, sitting down next to Sirius as Remus was helping peter with the work. Soon class finished and the boys got up and headed to their next classes, Peter headed to herbology class as Sirius, Remus and James headed to potions, sitting down and chatting. Regulus came from quidditch practice with Barty so he came in late, sitting down with wet hair as he had a shower before class. (I know that regs younger but for the sake of it they’ve got a mixed class) James stared at regulus, a fain blush appearing on his cheeks. Regulus sat down in the row across from James, talking with Barty and Evan. They were given partners from the other year. Remus was paired with Evan, Sirius with Barty and James with regulus. James sat down next to regulus, regulus being clearly annoyed by his partner that he was stuck with as he started taking notes for the potion, James sighing and communicating with Sirius from across the row. Regulus hit James on the arm. “If you don’t start paying attention I’ll toss you off the astronomy tower.” He said annoyed “sorry regulus, I’ll pay attention” James frantically said not wanting to get on regulus’ bad side.
