Chapter 1
Not alone
It’s just like every other Monday. James’ alarm rings at 06:30. "Uggghh." He groans. 06:30 was way to early.
Luckily James Is a morning person so he’s okay. He needs to be up so early to bring his son, harry to his daycare. even though the daycare begins at 08:00 he always needs to hurry since he and his son aren't the best duo when it comes to getting ready. But it is only every Monday because after he and Lily broke up six months ago, they agreed to share custody over Harry.
They broke up after Lily told him she wasn’t in love with him anymore after ten years of being together. James was hurt. He didn't get it. They were soulmates, he had his whole life planned out. Gratulate together, go to the same uni, gratulate again, buy a house, start a family, get married get more kids and grow old together. He didn't knew what he had to do with his live since he couldn't livethe one he planned. He was mad. Not mad a Lily but at him self. He got blinded by love, he hadn't considered that life could go different than he had planned and now he was (heart)broken.
Since James and lily broke up he moved in with Sirius. Sirius made that decision. James was so hurt he did some things he shouldn't have done. And so Sirius decided James had to move in with him. If he ever felt down or had the urge to relapse Sirius was there for him.
After discussing it with his best friend Sirius he understood the situation better. Sirius reminded him had a kid that he loved so much, that he had friends that care about him more that ever but most importantly he showed him that his life wasn't ruined and there were so many things he could do. And so his pain shrinked and his acceptance grew. After talking with Lily for a bit they decided they were in fact better of as friends that raised a child together than lovers.
One night Sirius Doorbell rang. When he opened the door he saw Lily standing in front of them.
Lily looks like she had been crying for hours.
Her puffy eyes were red and her cheeks were stained with tears.
"O sweetie what happened?"
Lily told James and Sirius what happened and everything fell in to place. She came out as a lesbian to her family. To say I didn’t go well was an understatement. During dinner Lily decided that she wanted to come out. Her parents didn't take it well and kicked her out. She got half and hour to pack her bags. She cried knowing this would be the last time she would she her family, including her big sister.
After listening to Lily, James and Sirius made it clear she was valid and loved. they decided to watch Lily`s comfort movie and eat her favorite snacks. They took Lily in until she had a temporary place for her self so she could search for a proper apartment. Since then they were closer than ever because they knew they could trust eachother with and their feelings.
Even though he finally had peace with the situation he still felt lonely waking up in a half empty bed. he had no one to cuddle besides Harry when he felt sad. He missed having a lover.
after Lily found a proper place Harry had to change daycare so the distant was okay for both of them to drive. After a week of searching for a daycare Lily and James found one they were both happy with. It was only a twenty minutes’ drive from both of their home's. It was also run by a lesbian couple which gave Lily comfort. It had great reviews and the pictures looked nice.

After James had taken his ADHD medication he remembered he needs to wake up harry to get him ready for daycare. As he walks to Harry’s room, he can hear him snore. He hates waking him up because harry has a habit of throwing tantrums when he’s tired or nervous. And with it being a Monday morning it was going to a hell of a ride.
And boy o boy Harry wasn’t having it because he was so nervous for his first day at his new daycare. He rebelled against everything, But mainly about his clothes, breakfast, and his hair.
He wanted to wear his new Pokémon shirt but James told him it was in the washing machine because you have to wash new clothes. He yelled and declined all the options James gave him. After settling down with his other gray Pokémon shirt it was time for breakfast.
Harry had a habit of changing his preference for his breakfast. He wanted to have pancakes but James was out on eggs, so after trying to contain Harry's tantrum so he wouldn't wake up Sirius he decided to improvise. Harry was almost ready for daycare. He only had to do his hair.
James had bought new hair products in the hope Harry's hair wouldn't be such a mess. The texture of the gel made Harry gag every five seconds but James insisted it was the first and last time they would use it.
"Finally" James mutters under his breathe after he got Harry in the car. After two hours of getting ready they finally drove to the daycare.

When he arrived at the daycare, he parked his car, got harry out of the car and walked to the door. When he enters the building a short blond headed person walked towards them.
“Hello little munchkin, what’s your name?” harry immediately hid behind James legs. “Go on tell them.” James says while he pushes Harry towards the blond. M-mm my name is Harry”. “Well its lovely to meet you Harry, my name is Marlene”. Marlene James though. James looks a Marlene and spots a few pins on their overalls.
They/she and Live love women. He figured they were one of the owners.
“And welcome to you, what’s your name.“ She says as they look at James
“My name is James potter.”
“And you guys pronouns are?”
"Go on Haz, uncle pads explained them to you right?" Harry nodded
"So, tell her your pronouns." James encouraged him.
"He and him." He said proudly.
"Good job Haz! Mine are he him too."
"Great! I will lead you to the classroom."
When they arrived at the classroom the other caretaker was waiting for them.
"Hello my name is Dorcas, she/her and I will be your caretaker. Feel free to ask any questions."
"Nice to meet you Dorcas, my name is James. This is my son Harry. Do you have any questions Harry?"
"No." He whispered. He stood behind James's legs again.
"Well we don't have questions then."
" Wait,
actually I have one, at what time do I have to pick him up?" James asked
" The kids get picked up at 3 pm."
"Okay thanks. Harry I will pick you up at 3 and them we go to mom okay?"
"Yeah mom!" Harry cheers.
"Bye Haz!"
"Bye dad!"

When James drove back to the daycare he wondered how harry day has been.
James was home school from the age of 2 to 12. He barly made friends that time. Exept for this one guy name Peter. they grew up together and became great friends. They even made a presantation to confince their parents to let them go to the same middle school.
when they got in school met an other friend his name was sirius. they grew close and became best friends. he hoped harry found someone he could grew close with like he did with his own friends.
When James arrived at 2:45 pm. there were only a couple of mom's waiting for the kids. he asummed he Arived a bit to early. he felt out of place with the moms discussing al the gossip they have. He was the only dad waiting for a kid. he felt stared at like he was the odd out. Mabye it would be better if Lily picked him up next time.
When it was 3 pm all the kids came running out the daycare.
James was looking for harry. What if his day went horrible and he was alone for the whole day with everyone having fun around his or worst he was bullied for no reason. since he didn't go to daycare he didn't know what to exspect.
But James his worried left when he saw harry running towards him with another kid.
"Dad, dad can Theodore come home to play?! Please please!" James was overwhelmed with joy. Harry has made a friend on the first day of daycare. "I think we should discuss that with his parents first but I don't mind." Where's your mom?" James asked Theodore. " Ummmm well my dad is somewhere." O a dad. James had to process that. An other dad. He is not alone! Maybe It is just a one time thing. But he hoped "O your dad sorry, where is he?" "Somewhere here." Theo said. Great James thought. Great.
