The water was rising faster, and there was no escape in sight. Hermione felt tears streaming down her face. She'd never see her friends again. Or Severus. She shouldn't have come to the cave, not when she knew that her magic was so weak now due to her illness. She couldn't even maintain a bubble-head charm for longer than 5 minutes!
"Hermione!"
"Severus?" she asked and looking around she noticed him swimming towards her. He was in his mermen form.
"Come! There's little time," he said, extending his hand towards her.
She took it, and jumped in the water. He'd keep her safe.
