13.Before S/he knew it, they'd been bitten

Before he could do anything about it, she was bitten. Hermione screamed, and with a blast all the zombies around were burned to the ground.
But it was too late. Hermione had been bitten. And while wizards were more resistant to the bite…. to date no one had resisted the change forever.
He desperately wanted him to be the one to do it. To never change.
"Severus, you have to go. More will come. You have to go and leave me."
He narrowed his eyes. "I can't leave you, Hermione. Please don't ask that of me."
Tears were streaming down her face. "They bit me."
He hugged her. "I know. But if you're gone, I have no reason to live. Please fight the infection. I know you can. I need you to work with me to find the cure."
"Promise me you'll stop me from hurting you?"
Severus nodded, but didn't speak. Truth was, he didn't know if he could ever hurt her even if she tried to bite his head off. But for her sake, she'd try. They needed to find a cure for this madness.
