Hermione carefully placed the handmade sweater in a little bag. It was going to be a nice birthday, Halloween present for her cousin's ten year old daughter.
"Darling, are you ready?" Severus asked.
"One moment! Packing your gift for Layla!"
At once Severus came into the room. "You can't seriously give her that sweater! It's… so silly !"
"No, it's not. You know she loves that you picked up knitting with her. This is the first clothing item that is actually…usable. She loved it when you showed it to her. I know she'll love it if you give it to her for good. We've talked about this."
"I didn't think you were serious."
"Well now you know. Stop being grumpy and go get the candy. They're expecting a lot of children to show up this year."
"Alright." With a slight smile, Severus left the room.
Hermione could tell he was pleased.
