Prefect duties
“Why do boys have to be so stupid” Lily said throwing herself onto her bed
“This is why I like women” Marlene said laughing at Lily's frustration
“UGHHHHH” lily yelled into her pillow
You see after the Marauders excluding Sirius were kicked out of the Infirmary they made their way back to the common room and that's where the dramatics started
“I can't believe she kicked us out because we aren't family” James said exasperated throwing himself on the couch
“Prongs, sweetheart We know you 2 are getting married in the spring but Pomfrey doesn’t” Peter said pushing James’s legs off the couch so he can sit
“But she must! I'm the mother of his child” he said pretending to swoon
“I didn’t know you’re pregnant Potter” Marlene chimed in from a different couch “Congratulations”
“How far along are you?” lily teased
James sat bolt upright at the sound of Lily's voice “I- uh- me and sirius aren't together. I'm straight” he said quickly his face getting really red
“Not that being queer is bad, I'm just not” James face was redder than a tomato and poor boy was so embarrassed and flustered
“So you think being gay means you're less than a heterosexual?” Mary asked mockingly struggling not to laugh
“Yah Prongs I didn't take you for a Homophobe” Remus adds laughing
“NO I’m not homophobic I love gay people” James says all in a rush
At that Marlene keeled over laughing “Oh god please I can't breath”
“Don't worry James you’ll figure out your sexuality one day” Lily said leaning over to put her hand on James knee
“¡Ah Dios mío mátame ahora!(Oh my god kill me now!)” James said covering his face with his hands
“We were just pulling your leg” Lily said laughing along with the rest of them

At that moment James heart fell right out of his ass and through the couch
“Oh shit Evans you speak spanish” Remus said laughing even harder
“Yah I actually took a class over the summer” Lily replied bashful “I’m planning on learning french next”
“Aren't you already fluent in like 50 other languages, why do you need spanish?” James said muffled by his hands but still sounding like a kicked puppy
“I wanna impress someone and I figured learning a language they speak would be a good way” Lily said nonchalant hoping james would take the hint
“So you have a crush on someone who speaks Spanish Evans?” Peter asked
“I may” lily was shrugging her shoulders
James looked out right sad like he was just told his favorite quidditch player died
“Well would you look at the time” Remus said looking at his empty wrist “let's head to bed and let the head boy and girl do their job”
Remus stood and starting shooing the rest of the group into the dorms
“So you wanna head out?” James asked with his head hung low
“Mhm” Lily replied standing and dusting off her skirt
In the Corridor
“So lets see Dungeons Black and Evans, Kitchens me and Bluefield, Portrait hall Rosier and Moore, Trophy Tower Lorain and Meadowes” James read off of the schedule “any questions?”
“I think we can understand simple instructions Potter” Regulus said rolling his eyes
“Be nice Reg” Pandora said putting her hand on his shoulder
“He can't it’s not in his nature” Dorcas said ruffling his hair as he gives her a death stare that would make a first year cry
“Ok let's just go already I wanna be able to get some homework done tonight” Roan Bluefield said annoyed
“They’ve got a point I really don't wanna have any homework to do tomorrow” Lily said agreeing with Roan
“Alright then Evans let me lead you into my dungeons” Regulus said knowing how it could sound to the rest of them especially James
That comment earned him a shove from pandora and a whack on the head from Dorcas
Oh how he wanted to get under James’s skin
Maybe now he see’s why Evan wants to fuck James so bad, it would be fun to watch him squirm
In the Dungeons
“I don't know why James didn't wanna do patrol with me” Lily sighs to Regulus
“I mean I thought he was going to ask me out or something after I basically told him I liked him” Lily continued waving her hands around
“You know as head girl you have control over the patrolling schedule too right?” Regulus asked internally questioning how such a smart girl could like such a dumb boy
“I know but he takes such pride in making the schedule”
“Oh mes étoiles(oh my stars)” regulus murmured under his breath
“He just takes the schedule McGonagall gives him and adjusts it based on the prank his friends want to pull” Regulus said stating the obvious “and so you two would be paired up more often”
“That does sound like him” Lily said sighing “you know what your right im going to stop waiting for him to ask me out and just ask him out myself”
“That is not what I said” Regulus said blankly
“You know Mary and Marlene have been telling for months but hearing from a guys perspective is good”
“Tu mets des mots dans ma bouche(You are putting words in my mouth)” Regulus said but he’s not sure she’s listening anymore
“I mean Remus has been telling me to but he’s James friend so its biased”
Lily continued “And Remus is gay so its not like he's never wanted a girl to ask him out”
“It's good to have a straight man's perspective on this”
“Je n'ai jamais dit que j'étais hétéro(I never said I was straight)” Regulus said questioning why he decided to respond in the first place
“Thank you Regulus” Lily said putting her hand on his arm

“I'm going to head to the portrait hall to catch James before he goes into the common room” lily said excited “oh now I'm nervous”
“Thank you again Reg” Lily said kissing his cheek and walking back towards the Portrait hall
“qu'est-ce qui vient de se passer putain?(what the fuck just happened)” Regulus asked himself
Outside the Gryffindor common room
“James wait up” Lily said walking up the stairs
“Hey Evans didn’t expect you back so soon” James said slightly startled
“I figured it was a good idea to head back so I can get started with my homework a bit early” lily said shrugging
“Yah that’s what I’m doing too” James replied after he said the password to the Fat Lady “I wanna be able to see Sirius in the morning”
“Oh that sounds like good plan, you can see him before we head off to hogsmeade” Lily said smiling to herself
“I’m not really sure I’ll go tomorrow” James said scratching the back of his head
“Oh why not? It’ll be fun trust me” Lily said trying to convince him
“I don't know it’ll be sad being in the group without Sirius” James said as they started to walk up the stairs to the dorms
“Then it's settled We won't be in the group” lily said stopping and turning to look at James
“It's fine Evans, and anyways if you spend the day with me that person you like might get the wrong idea” James said with his head down and promptly walked up to his dorm
Being alone now lily was very confused by how stupid boys can be
“God I wish I was into woman” lily said throwing her hands up and walking to her dorm
Back to the beginning
“Calm down Lils” Mary said looking up from her romance novel “It's not that bad”
“He thinks I like another spanish speaking person” lily said into her pillow
“What other Spanish speaking person do I know!”
“I don't know maybe like all the hot latinos in our year” Marlene retorted
“We have less than 20 latinos in the whole school Marlene” Lily said looking up “and half of them are not even in 4th year yet”
“He doesn't know you could be into younger men” Marlene shrugged then reached over to grab a cigaret and lighter from her bedside
“Please not in the dorm Marls” Mary said pleading “your cheap fags give me a migraine”
“Hey my fags aint cheap” Marlene said insulted
“Yes they are Marls” Lily chimed in, her mood lighting
“You know what if both of you wanna be prudes all of a sudden I’ll go smoke some where else” Marlene said grabbing the box and her sweater
“Good” Mary said
“Be safe” Lily added “don't do anything I wouldn't do”
“You two are a bunch of tossers” Marlene said with a smile as she left
After a beat or two Mary asked lily
“So if Potter didn't realize you were talking about liking him why didn't you correct him”
“He didn't give me a chance” Lily said
“I asked him to spend the day in hogsmeade with just me, but he just said you wouldnt wanna give the person you like the wrong idea and just left” She said rolling her eyes
“Oh poor James he's heartbroken” Mary said
“Ugh I have to find a way to be more direct” Lily said exasperated
“You know what's very direct?” Mary said
“I swear to god if you say asking him out I will hit you with my shoe” Lily said
“Actually I was going to say kissing him, but asking his out works too” Mary said shrugging her shoulders
“I'm going to sleep” Lily announced as she got up th turn off the lights
“Hey Im reading here” Mary said annoyed
“Turn on your lamp” Lily said before she closed her eyes
In the morning during breakfast
“Oh there she is” Mary said as Marlene walked into the great hall “taking her walk of shame”
“Oh please it's only a walk of shame if you’re ashamed of what you did and I am not ashamed in any way” Marlene said as she plopped down across from the girls
“Yah we can see that, she marked you up real good” Lily said pointing out the hickies that littered Marlene's neek
“I know aren't they lovely” Marlene said flipping her hair back showing off her bruised neck
“I wouldn’t say lovely” Remus said as him and the boys (minus sirius) sat at the table “more like you got into a fight with a vacuum cleaner and lost”
Lily covered her face trying her best not to laugh
“Now that's just mean” Marlene said pretending to pout
“How's Sirius?” Mary asked changing the mood
“Oh you know back to being the same annoying asshole he always is” Peter shrugged as he ate a spoonful of cereal
“Well good to know he's awake” Marlene said “so when’s Pomfrey letting him out?”
“After Hogsmeade” James said “She said she doesn't want to risk him sneaking into town”
“Yah knowing him he would get hurt again” Marlene said
“No he wouldn't we would keep him from getting into trouble” Remus said bumping shoulders with Marlene
“He’s Sirius he’s a trouble magnet” Mary added
“I can't deny that” Remus agrees
“So does that mean all of us are staying here today?” Lily asked tentatively
“Of course not” Marlene said “the boys will stay here while we go and have a girls day”
“Hey who said we’re all staying here” Peter said bluntly “I have a date today”
“You have a date?” Marlene said shocked
“Don't act so surprised” Peter offended “I get more woman than you McKinnon”
“Sure you do Pettigrew” Marlene rolled her eyes
“It’ll just you and Mary today Marls, I gonna get some homework done” Lily informed the girls
“It’ll just be Marls I wanna finish my book” Mary corrected her
“She just realized she likes him” She said excited
“But theyve fucking though the whole book” Marlene added
Mary just rolled her eyes
“So we are all staying but Peter and McKinnon?” James asked
“Oh no I am Not going if I’ll be alone” Marlene said
“So just me then” Peter said
“Seems like it Peet” Remus said
After a beat
“So, board games in the common room?” Remus asked
“I think that's the best idea” Lily agreed
