Are they..?

During my class, I can feel many searching eyes on me. It's an odd feeling, but they're children and have many, many years before they can hope to affect me with a look.

I chuckle to myself, sending Ruka and Hanabusa a raised eyebrow.

They sink down in their seats as being caught and I chuckle, turning away. "Alright. Who wants to choose tomorrow." I ask the class.

A hand goes up and I nod to the boy who's perked up excitedly. "Can we do evolution?" He asks.

I hum, tilting my head. "Of...?" I ask, hoping he'll elaborate.

"As a whole! Like... how the world changed over time, as well as all the different species." He pleads hopefully.

I chuckle, shaking my head. "Alright. I don't know how much we'll be able to get through though, so choose the questions you have tonight, and it'll help us get through it all tomorrow."

A few look interested, nodding, and the bell rings. "Alright, I'll see you all tomorrow." I smile softly before grabbing the papers handed to me by the girl who collected them. I turn back to my desk, moving the last stack to a folder, adding my new stack to it as well.

When I hear the door close, I move to grab the folder to take with me, before I'm being turned around quickly. My eyes widen at the quick movement, and I look up into Kaname's burgundy eyes, his hands large hands encompassing my waist.

He's smiling down at me and it has me returning his smile. "Another enjoyable class." He praises.

I feel my cheeks heating and lean in to rest my forehead on his chest, feeling the vibrations from his laugh.

I roll my eyes, reaching up to grab his neck, and pulling him down to me.

He comes easily, bending down, and I look up, meeting his lips with my own.

His hands tighten, before one is sliding up my back and tangling into my hair, holding the back of my head.

I don't see him snapping his eyes open, the warmth melting away to ice as he stares down the few members of his inner circle looking into the little window that makes the classroom visible.

Not having Vampire hearing, means not noticing any of it, including their squeaks of fear as they race away.

I pull away from him, dropping back onto my heels from where I had to lean up, smiling up at him softly. "I'm glad you enjoyed learning what I'm sure you already knew." I tease.

He grins, releasing my hair to begin running his fingers through the strands. "Hearing your voice is enjoyable on its own."

I groan, rolling my eyes. "Kaname." I whine in embarrassment.

He chuckles, grabbing my hand and pulling it up to place a kiss on the back of it. "I'll see you later?" He speaks quietly against my skin.

His voice is even lower than usual, his eyes looking straight into mine from where he's bent down. I swallow, nodding. "Yeah." I breath out, completely flustered. Humor enters his eyes and I cough, clearing my throat. "Yeah. I me-mean, yes." I sigh out a breath, closing my eyes. "Yes." I say firmly, finally looking back up to him nonchalantly, hoping to conceal my flustered state.

He straightens up, staring down at me fondly before he's reaching out and pulling me into his arms.

I go easily, wrapping my arms around him and resting my cheek against his chest, enjoying the purr that vibrates in his chest, nuzzling into him.

He hums, sending goosebumps down my neck, before I feel him placing a kiss to the top of my head. "Be good." He orders quietly.

I pull back, smiling up at him brightly. "I'm always good!" I grin, releasing him and grabbing my folder before walking to the door.

"Have fun... be good for your teachers." I tease over my shoulder as I open the door.

He huffs, grabbing the doorframe and holding it open for me as we exit. "I care not for a single other teacher here." He says firmly.

I soften, looking up to him and squeezing his arm with a hand fondly. "Bye, Kaname." I whisper.

He hums, smiling down to me, his hand twitching when I release him, obviously wanting to reach for me, but mindful of the potential observers.

"Bye, Hadrian." He whispers, watching me fondly as I walk away.

Sitting with Kain at his home, time passes us, as it usually does when we're together. He's my best friend, and I'm his, it's normal.

With all four kids out, we're lounging on the couch, facing each other from each end and passing the bottle of bourbon between each other.

Kain laughs as I finish my story on Yuki's training when she first began. I join him, nodding. "It was so, so hard not to laugh!"

He holds his stomach, wiping his eyes. "She's so precious."

I chuckle, nodding. "She is. And she's progressed so much. I was hoping you'd be willing to teach her some..." I trail off, hopefully.

He thinks about it for a moment before sighing and I cheer. "Yes!"

He grumbles but a huge smile is back moments later. "Now, what's going on with you and Kaname?" He asks with a raised eyebrow.

I flush, looking away. "I have no clue what you're talking about." I say haughtily.

He hums. "Oh. So, him not being able to take his eyes off you. The kids fumbling when his name and yours is mentioned in the same sentence..." He trails off and I cover my face with a groan. He laughs, and I peek up to see him sitting up, smiling down at me assuringly. "I have no problem with it Hadrian. As long as you're happy."

I look up to him with a shy smile. "I'm happy." I whisper.

He beams, wrapping me up in his arms, and I chuckle into his chest. "Then I'll need to give him a little talk. Hm?" He says teasingly, but I can hear the seriousness, the protectiveness in his voice.

"Please don't" I grumble into him, still not forgetting this man is the most powerful Vampire Hunter to ever exist.

He only begins laughing once more, squeezing me tighter, but doesn't respond.

When we pull apart, I yawn. "Alright, I'm going to head home." I stand, helping Kain up as well with a laugh as we both stumble from the amount of liquor we've drank.

"You sure you don't want to say?" Kain worries when I almost trip.

I wave him away. "I'm fine. I want my bed." I grin.

He laughs opening the front door. "Alright. Get home safe."

I leave, waving over my shoulder to him. Making my way through the courtyard takes longer than usual as I'm walking slower to ensure I don't get dizzy once again.

I spot a figure sitting at the fountain, process it's Kaname and beam, walking to him quickly. "Kaname!" I greet with cheer.

He chuckles, grabbing me around the waist and pulling me in-between his legs.

With no thought for who can see in my current state, I wrap my arms around his neck, easily, as he's sitting down, and lean in to nuzzle into his neck. "Kaname." I whisper happily. "I missed you. So, so much." I smile into him happily.

His quiet chuckle kicks up to a laugh as he keeps his hands on my hips, holding tightly and ensuring I don't fall. "Did you have fun with Kain?" He asks fondly.

I nod rapidly. "Yes! Oh, he asked about you." I pull back, cupping his face with both hands. "I told him how awesome you were, don't worry." I nod to myself. "And handsome. You're very handsome." I hum, smiling when I see his ears heating. I lean in to kiss his cheek, pulling back with a smile, before a yawn escapes me.

I rub my eyes, hearing him chuckle before speaking quietly. "Let's get you home, Hadrian." He speaks fondly.

I nod, leaning back into his neck, tightening my arms around him. My eyes close and I sag into him.

I don't see the way he watches me with an endearing amount of love as he maneuvers me before lifting me into his arms. I hum, nuzzling into him once more. "Kaname."

"I think you drank a bit too much, Hadrian." He whispers into my ear, forcing me to shiver.

I tighten my arms once more, and he grins. "It's a good thing I was here, hm?" He teases.

I nod, kissing his neck and not seeing the heat that enters his gaze. "My Kaname will always protect me." I mumble, sleep beginning to overcome me as he continues walking to my home.

He squeezes me once, before I feel him kissing my head. "Always." He whispers as I drift off.

I'm jostled and whine. "Sh. Shh. Come here." Kaname's voice whispers when I feel myself being moved into his arms from where I'm lying on the bed.

I cuddle into his embrace, nuzzling into his neck and murmuring to him softly. "Goodnight."

He hums, running his hand through my hair, coaxing me back to sleep. "Goodnight, my beloved Hadiran." His whisper follows me into my dreams.

I stare down at my beloved, currently sleeping peacefully in my arms, feeling nothing but love and contentment.

It's only been a few weeks since i told him of who he was to me, but he's been nothing but accepting and encouraging when it comes to exploring our relationship.

He wasn't afraid, thankfully. Regardless of how powerful he is, he's... soft. Not in a bad way of course. But he's kind, caring, doesn't like death... the list goes on.

Thankfully, he wasn't scared away. He not only accepted our friendship, even after learning who I truly was, but he also excepted me after learning he was my beloved.

I look down to him, smiling at his peaceful state, leaning down to place a kiss on his forehead. He's maneuvered from my neck to my chest, nuzzling into me occasionally.

It's adorable and yet another trait about him that's so Hadrian, it has fondness filling my chest.

"Beloved." I whisper against his hair, breathing in the scent of lavender and something distinctly Hadrian.

He hums, a smile tilting his lips. "Mine." He mumbles in a whisper.

My fond smile spreads. "Yours. All yours."

I close my eyes, falling asleep with the other half of my heart in my arms.
