Queen
Finished with the meeting and apparent shovel talk from a man whose lifespan is the amount of time it takes me to blink, I shut his office door behind me.
A body runs into me, and I look down irritated, but covering it with a smile.
The boy looks up, and I truly relax at recognizing Teddy, my smile turning more genuine.
His eyes widen before he's shouting. "Sorry!" He flushes before clearing his throat. "I... I wanted to thank you." He mumbles, looking down.
I hum, looking down at the nervous looking son of Hadiran's. "There's nothing to thank me for." I assure.
He sniffs and I worry for a moment before he's speaking again. "I won't hurt my friends. I can even..." He shakes his head. "Thank you so much for taking the chance with my wolf." He chokes out, wiping his eyes.
Kin. Protect. My vampire implores.
I smile genuinely, hands entering my pockets. "Teddy." I call to him, and he looks up to me. "Knowing you're going to not only be happier, but also safe with your friends, is worth it."
He smiles shakily before darting forward to hug me. He releases me just as quickly, and my eyes widen.
"Don't hurt Dad." He growls, eyes turning golden for a split moment before he gets control of himself. "Please." He finishes sheepishly.
I chuckle, not threatened in the least. "You have my word." I say gently, my vampire practically cooing at the baby wolf, regardless of his age.
Teddy beams before he's waving me goodbye. I watch him go, bewildered.
Did I just get a second shovel talk... I chuckle as I begin walking away. I have another meeting, this one even more important.
Walking to the Moon dorms, I pause, staring in the direction of Hadrian's home. Not having him in my sites always has my vampire on edge. The only things keeping him from actively fighting me is the knowledge that Hadrian is beyond powerful and close enough for us to get to if needed. He also promised to visit tonight.
I'm greeted by the vampires mingling in the common areas as I enter, passing them by.
When I get to the room holding my inner circle, I pinch the bridge of my nose. They're loud and causing ruckus, as usual. It's only worsened when Hadrian is around. Of course, I would never be upset with my beloved, so it's obviously the faults of these vampires.
"Enough." I comment, walking in and acting like I don't see them shuffling about, attempting to look like proper noble vampires.
I sit at the head of the table, before nodding for Takuma to begin. He clears his throat, updating me on his grandfather before everyone is giving their own information and updates.
When they've finished, I nod. "Now, I've told you of my true identity." They all nod, a bit weary, still unused to being in the presence of an original vampire. It's easy to forget apparently. I cross my hands. "What I didn't tell you, was that I had a beloved."
Their eyes widen, before Takuma catches on, gasping.
"What, what?!" Hanabusa urges Takuma to spill.
Ruka scoffs. "It's obvious." She looks back to me, poorly concealing the hope. "It's Hadiran... right?" She asks, not at all subtly.
I smile, nodding.
A few cheer. Senri and Rima bumping poky sticks together.
"Does that mean he's going to be queen?" Takuma asks happily.
I hum, leaning back in my chair. "We're taking things slow. He just found out, after all. But-" They perk up. "One day, yes." I nod, sighing when they begin chattering to each other once again. "Now, I know you all have your own relationships with him, but I'd want you all to be mindful of his position, even if he doesn't know what it will be someday." I finish with a secretive smile to myself. I know for a fact him having as power as I do will take a while for him to come to terms with. I'll wait to drop that news on him, slowly work him into it.
I hear him entering the moon dorms and stand quickly.
I ignore the stifled laughter from the vampires watching me and leaving the room. When I get to the top of the stairs, I spot him.
He's currently ruffling the hair of the boy who's always aiding him in class. It's cause me to allow more lenience to him... unbeknownst to him.
Feeling jealous my beloveds' hands are on another instead of me, even if it's just parental fondness, I call out to him. "Hadrian."
His head tilts up, before his eyes are finding me.
Just like every other time, since the day we met, it's like the word freezes, centering around this man. His bright green eyes capture me, the white curls framing his face ensuring his face is the center of all attention.
"Kaname!" He greets, walking towards the stairs.
The many vampires watching him, eventually meet my eyes once Hadrian looks down. They flare Red, my power pulsing in warning. Thankfully, my overbearing power is a pleasant feeling to Hadrian, as he's said before, so I'm not worried about him feeling it.
When he gets to me, I hold my hand out. He doesn't hesitate, placing his hand in mine with a smile.
I smile down at him, pulling him into my side as I place my other hand on the small of his back, beginning to lead him away. "Hadrian." I greet softly.
He laughs quietly. "Kaname. It's good to see you." He says pleasantly as I open the door to my room.
"You as well." I shut my door and laugh when he immediately wraps around me. I wrap my arms around him, lifting him up and burying my face into his neck. "Beloved." I purr, enjoying the shiver he gives me.
He giggles, the sound pleasing me as I walk us to my chair behind my desk. He squeezes his arms around my neck before a hand is running through my hair. "I missed you." He whispers as I sit down, pulling his body on my lap, closer.
I hum, pulling back to cup his face with my hand, the other on his back, keeping him pressed closely against me. "I missed you too, sweetheart." I say fondly, enjoying the red that spreads on his cheeks.
"Kaname." He whines.
I chuckle, before looking over to the chest board. "Ready to begin learning?"
Hadrian grins. "Yes, sensei!"
I hum, before watching him stand from my lap, walking over to the small table the chest board is on and kneeling on the ground.
I walk over, sitting in the chair and leaning my cheek on my closed fist. "Go ahead. Name the pieces you know."
Hadrian begins, easily naming the first few. "Pawn." He picks up the small black piece, and I'm unable to stop myself from analyzing the pieces he's picked up and subconsciously moved. I nod to him, not liking him seeing himself as a disposable piece, just like the pawn.
He picks up a white knight next, placing it next to the black pawn. "Knights next." He nods before humming and grabbing the black knight, moving it on the other side of the black pawn and shifting the white one away. He nods, reaching for another piece as I analyze. His friends betrayed him, did he have someone on the dark side of the war he connected with? I know he fought for dark magic rights, which makes sense why he'd classify himself as one, even if he's the purest soul to ever live.
He grabs the white king. "King." He nods to himself, reaching for the black queen. "Queen." I narrow my eyes in thought, not liking the conclusion I'm coming too with that. He's not even subconsciously thinking of himself as a higher power.
He finally grabs the rook. This time, white. "Rook." He smiles at the white piece, placing it behind the little black pawn. Understanding that to be Teddy, I smile.
"Correct." I praise, leaning forwards when he beams. I move a few pieces around as I speak. "But..." I lift the black pawn with my fingers, rolling the piece in my hand. "Often, a small piece like this can be hiding the strongest pieces on the board." I lift the white queen, placing it where the black pawn was. "The queen is the strongest of them all." I move the white pieces away, shifting the black knights in front of the queen. "The knights are the protectors." I move the white rook to the queen's side. "Support and aid." Finally, I shift the King directly behind the Queen. "The King will always protect its queen."
Hadrian nods, listening closely as he watches me shift the pieces around, before he realizes what he was doing, and how I'm shifting his perspective. He coughs to hide his face, the flush obvious, and I grin. "Now, we'll play a round so I can see how your mind works, then I'll begin explaining strategy."
He perks up, nodding and moving to sit on the chair across from me. He makes the first move after a little encouragement, and I can't help my slight surprise. I don't know why I was even a little shocked. Hadrian is brilliant. He makes good plans, and moves, but his setback is taking all the heat. He doesn't like sacrificing any of his pieces, making it easy for me to maneuver and get to his king.
He's not the least bit upset at his loss. "How'd I do??" He asks eagerly.
I chuckle, nodding as I look down at the board. "You did well."
He eyes me, suspicious. "You're not just saying that?"
I grin, shaking my head. "No, beloved." I tease, enjoying the flush on his cheeks. "Your strategies are very well thought out and executed. The reason you lost, was because I had no problem sacrificing my pieces. We played the same game, with different rules."
He sighs. "I know. It was always a weakness of mine." He mumbles.
I hum, sitting back in my chair. "Come here." I order.
He listens without thought, coming over to sit back in my lap. He rests his head on my chest, bringing his legs up and I rest a hand on his thigh, pulling him closer, my other hand beginning to run through his hair. "I've always enjoyed making the final decisions." I murmur against the top of his head.
He shakes his head into my chest. "That's not fair to you." He whispers.
I chuckle. "It's plenty fair. Your safety will always be my top priority. Being able to make the calls for us both, means keeping you safe, but also happy. That's a win in my books."
He nuzzles into me again before looking up to meet my eyes. "You mean it?" He asks softly.
I nod. "I do." I lean forwards, capturing his lips and relishing in the whimper that escapes him.
He grips onto my jacket, attempting to hold me against him. I hum, gripping his hair before my tongue traces his lips. He understands and opens his mouth. When his tongue meets mine, the lust running through my body, amps up.
I growl before using my vampire speed. In the next moment I'm pressing his body into my bed.
I pull back, running my lips across his cheek and down his neck, kissing his shoulders where his sweater has shifted from all the movement, to show his bare shoulder. "Kaname." He whines, sounding needy.
Coming to a decision, I begin running my hand down his waist before shifting it under his sweater. Feeling his soft skin has another growl escaping me, the scent of him enticing me.
He whines again, and I feel his hands in my hair, holding my head against him. It's when I kiss behind his ear, that a moan escapes him. "I-" He sucks in a breath, and I lift his sweater, maneuvering it over and off his head.
Seeing the soft pale skin, I groan, running my hand over his chest, enjoying the whimpers he gives as I move back up to his mouth. I devour him, pressing my body into his much smaller one. He moans when our hips meet, and I'm unable to withhold the groan of pleasure.
"Please. Please." He pleads into my mouth, his hands in my hair, tightening as he whimpers when I grind into him.
"Go ahead, beloved." I whisper against his lips, encouraging.
He pushes his hips into me, moaning as he takes his pleasure. I watch him, inches away as he tilts his head back, the flush on his face, spreading down his chest and making an enticing picture.
I grit my teeth, holding myself back as he continues to brush against my dick.
"Kaname. Kaname." He moans my name, and I'm unable to hold myself back, wrapping a hand around his throat and squeezing slightly as my lips meet his again.
His arousal is heightened if the loud noises escaping our joined lips are anything to go by. Knowing he enjoys my control is a heady feeling as I grind down into him.
When he tenses, I let out a groan, pleasure filling me entirely. Hadrian moans as he falls right alongside me, breathing heavily against my hair as I continue to hover over him, ensuring my weight doesn't crush him.
I feel a tinging over my skin, before we're both clean. No remnants of our pleasure to be felt.
His arms wrap around my neck, and he pulls me onto him.
"I don't want to hurt you." I murmur into his neck.
He chuckles quietly, pulling once more, and I follow his silent request, falling on top of him. He hums, nuzzling into my hair, and running his hand through it.
"Thank you, honey." He whispers shyly.
They term of endearment has warmth filling me. I grin into his neck before pulling back to look up at his blushing face. "No, thank you, sweetheart." I whisper heatedly.
He groans, pulling my head back down, embarrassed.
I laugh, relaxed and happy.
It's not long before I can tell he's fallen asleep. Worried about being on him for too long, I wrap my arms under him before rolling to the side. His face presses into my neck, and I hold him closely, shutting my eyes with a content sight.
"Goodnight, beloved." I whisper into the quiet room.
