Beloved
I open the door to my home, smiling up at Kaname. He's dressed in a black suit and seeing him has an odd warmth spreading in my chest.
When I meet his eyes, I try to figure out what I'm seeing. He's staring so... intently. "Hadrian." He breathes out, looking over my own outfit. I opted for a more fitting wear, as usual. The white pants and black dress shirt snug against me, cut low as usual, complementing Kaneme's black pants and white top. My own jacket is white, and I grab it, looking back up to him.
"Kaname." I smile brightly. "You look perfect!"
He continues staring at me, before breathing out a single word. "Beautiful."
I freeze before flushing. "Kaname." I groan into my hands. "You can't say things like that to me." I grumble in embarrassment.
Kaname chuckles, holding his hand out. "I'm only speaking the truth." He teases.
I sigh fondly before giving him a pointed look and grabbing his hand, shutting the door behind me. "I'm so excited!" I say happily, walking closely where he's pulled me so our bodies brush against each other.
He hums, smiling down at me as walk through the courtyard, his other hand in his pocket. "I'm glad. I look forward to seeing you enjoy it."
I tilt my head. "Me?" I ask in confusion. Doesn't he mean the show?
He clears his throat, looking away. Thankfully, for him, he's saved from answering. He sighs in exasperation, and I look over to where he's looking, seeing his friends.
I smile at them all. "Hello!"
Ruka huffs. "It's about time."
She's elbowed by Hanabusa, and she glares up at him, while he glares down at her.
Takuma clears his throat, silencing them. "We wanted to see you off. Please, enjoy your evening." His eyes hold something as he looks between us, but I figure it doesn't matter.
Kaname stares them all down and a few shuffles, others looking away before I can feel their eyes on me.
I soften, squeezing Kaname's hand. "We don't want to be late, Kaname."
He looks down to me, his intimidating aura disappearing in an instant. "Of course, Hadrian." He says softly.
I see the students sending me thankful looks and wink at them, being pulled away.
When we're out of their range, Kaname huffs. "You spoil them too much."
I look up to him with a pout. "I can't help it."
He chuckles, shaking his head. "Then it's a good thing I'm here, hm?" His eyes turn warm.
I nod rapidly, my other hand coming up to grab his arm. "Yes. You can be the authoritative parent." I tease, not knowing what my words do to him.
I look towards the gate, seeing the car and missing the way his gaze heated. I would have frozen in place at the stare he's currently giving me. "Yes. I can be." He whispers.
I chuckle, still thinking he's teasing before he's stepping in front of me and getting the door. "Thank you, Kaname." I smile up at him before accepting his help and getting inside.
He shuts the door, walking around to the other side and getting in.
I turn to Kaname in excitement, beginning to ask him multiple questions, as he kept most information back out of surprise. He watches me, his elbow resting on the window ledge, head in his hand. The smile doesn't leave his face once, his eyes never leaving mine.
At one point during the drive, he reaches out to grab a piece of my long hair, as he always does, twirling the curl through his fingers. I don't stop chattering and he enjoys it, as he always does.
When we arrive, I freeze from where I've turned towards the door. "Wait for me." He orders.
I sigh fondly but wait. He opens my door, holding a handout to me. I grab it, stepping out with a shy smile. He smiles back before he's leading me inside.
Surprisingly, or should I say not, because he's Kaname... we walk straight through and up the stairs, never being stopped. When we get to a door with the number three on it, he opens it, leading me inside. I hum, realizing we're in a private balcony. The view of the stage is brilliant, and I look back to Kaname with a smile, not seeing him relaxing at my happy state, clearly happy with it. "It's perfect! This is brilliant, Kaname!"
He chuckles, resting a hand at the small of my back and leading me to the small couch. We sit, and moments later a man is bringing in a tray with drinks. My attention is on the surrounding are, looking around. I accept the glass he hands me when he's finished pouring from the bottle of wine. Kaname sits back when the man leaves, resting his arm across the back of the couch. "Well, any guesses?" He teases, his deep voice not too far from me.
I turn to him, hoping he'll crack and tell me. Sadly, I'm constantly forgetting this man is just as old as me, and certainly has better self-control than I could ever wish for.
He grins, and I pout.
He laughs before reaching for my hair once again. I sit back against the couch, so it's easier for him, looking up at him with a smile. "Your obsession with my hair." I sigh fondly.
He chuckles, nodding, not at all embarrassed. "Yes. It's beautiful, and soft." He murmurs, his filter slowly leaving him as the night passes.
I flush once more, glad I set my glass down after a sip, turning into his side with a whine of embarrassment.
He hums, enjoying seeing me flustered, knowing I believe it to be embarrassment I'm feeling.
The room darkens and my eyes light up.
The show begins, musician after musician coming up on stage. I'm transfixed, enjoying every single one.
At one point, Kaname moves his arm to my shoulders, pulling me into his side. I cuddle closer, not taking my eyes off the stage currently holding a small orchestra.
Kaname doesn't take his eyes off me, true to his earlier words. He continues to play with my hair, forcing a pleased him from my throat.
When the break comes, I sit back up, turning to smile at Kaname. "It's it great..." I begin rambling about the different musicians. My favorite songs and artists. He nods along with a smile, adding his own input, much to my happiness.
The man from earlier comes in, moving a small table in front of us before placing dinner down. He bows before leaving.
I feel Kaname place his hand on my head and look back up to see him smiling down at me. "I hope it's to your liking."
I beam, nodding. "Thank you, Kaname." I lean into his hand a bit before turning and beginning to eat. "It's good." I smile happily at my plate of pasta.
We continue to talk, nothing but a comfortable atmosphere the whole time between us, as usual.
When we're finished, it's only a few minutes later that the man is back, clearing everything away.
With no pretense, Kaname wraps his arm around my waist, pulling me back into his side. I laugh, settling into him comfortably. "You're such a softy, Kaname." I tease, resting my head on his chest and wrapping my arm around his waist, holding him back as the lights darken once more.
"Only for you." Is whispered too quietly as the music begins again. The words fond, with a dark possessive undertone.
The music continues, and I hum in enjoyment when he begins rubbing his hand up and down my side. The comfort is soothing, and I sigh in content.
The show comes to a close and I don't move from Kaname, comfortable.
He chuckles, running his hand through my hair. "Did you enjoy it?" He asks quietly.
I nod into his chest. "So much." I whisper. "Thank you for bringing me, Kaname." The smile obvious in my voice.
He hums, not moving me an inch, content to wait until I'm ready. It's cute, and I have to force myself to sit up. He aids me and when he sees I'm up right, he stands holding his hand out for me.
I slip my own into his, rising. My soft smile doesn't leave my face as we make our way out, the car somehow already waiting for us out front, regardless of the amount of people currently leaving.
I'm helped into the car, before Kaname is shutting my door and joining me from the other side.
When he gets in, he angles himself against the door, opening his arms.
I don't hesitate to move to him, always enjoying his cuddles.
His laugh shakes me at my quick movement, endeared.
His arms close around me as I recline in the seat, most of my body on top of him. I nuzzle into his chest with a hum, sleepy.
He begins combing his fingers through my hair, his chin resting on the top of my head. "Rest, Hadrian." He whispers.
I listen, closing my eyes and drifting off.
When I blink my eyes open, I hear Kaname's deep voice, speaking quietly into my ear. "We're back."
I hum, nodding and he helps me sit up. "Wait for me." He orders when I reach for the door once more.
I flush, removing my hand from the door, before it's being opened.
I grab his hand, getting out before smiling up to him.
He smiles back, softly, before beginning to lead me back through the courtyard. Instead of stopping at the night dorms, which comes first, he continues towards my home. I look up at him in confusion and he only pulls me closer to him.
I chuckle, not arguing and continue to follow.
When we get to my home, I open the door, inviting him in, and he accepts gladly.
We walk inside, and he removes his jacket, following me into the kitchen. When I grab the supplies for the tea, his hand settles over mine. My eyes widen, before he's moving my hands. His firm chest is against my head as he prepares the tea through me.
It's... I don't understand what I'm feeling.
When he's finished, I feel like I can breathe again. I don't like it. Why do I not want to breath?
He hums, pleased at my state as he guides me to the table, sitting next to me instead of across from me.
We talk quietly, sipping our tea before Kaname speaks once more. "Do you know what a beloved is, Hadrian?" He asks, watching me closely.
I tilt my head, thinking. "Um..." I crease my eyebrows before remembering. "Oh! It's like a soulmate. Right?" I turn back to him, wondering if I got it right.
He nods once, still not taking his eyes off me. "It's a Vampire's fated one."
I hum, nodding. "It's rare though, right? Like to even have one, let alone find them."
He nods again, the air turning dense with... something. "That's correct. For those that do find them... they're their other half. They still have the Vampire's obsession, but it's overcome by the love they hold for their beloved."
I sigh in wonder. "That sounds so nice!" I lean my chin on my hand. "A soulmate. Maybe I could look for one? I have been alone-"
I'm cut off by a loud growl. I turn back to Kaname, seeing his eyes are completely red. I'm unable to look away, feeling trapped. For some reason, it doesn't scare me.
"No." He grits out.
I wilt, feeling hurt. "I could have someone-"
I gasp when I'm lifted, glasses breaking on the floor as my back lands on the table. My hands are held above my head in one of Kaname's, and when I look up, Kaname is hovering over me. He stares into my eyes, deeply.
I feel myself becoming warm. Kaname watches the red spreading on my cheeks, but the confusion still in my eyes has him speaking quietly, slightly animalistic. "Beloved."
I stop breathing, eyes widening. He leans down, running his nose across my cheek and down my neck before getting to the juncture between my shoulder and neck. He breathes deeply. "Beloved." He growls.
I choke. "But-But, you..." I breath out shakily, beginning to understand, emotions overwhelming me. "If I'm... you don't want me?" I choke out with pain, closing my eyes to stop the tears from falling.
He snarls into my ear, his free hand coming to cup my face. "You're mine. I've always wanted you. Always." He says fiercely.
"Then why didn't you tell me?!" I cry out, pulling at my hands, wanting to run, to be alone.
He tightens his hold on my hands, leaning up, but I don't stop pulling at my hands. "Open your eyes, Hadrian." He orders firmly, but the softness, even with his Vampire so close to the surface, is still present.
I'm unable to deny him, blinking my watery eyes open. My eyes meet his red ones, so close to me. "I was scared." He whispers. "I'd searched and searched for a century for you." He rubs his thumb on my cheek reverently. "Then I got my memories in this life, and when I finally found you again, I was scared." He sounds apologetic and sincere. I stop struggling against his firm hold. "I wanted you to give me a chance first. Me. Not Kuran Kaname. Not my past. Me." He whispers harshly, his gaze not leaving mine. "Never. Never-" He hisses. "Have I ever not wanted you." He finishes fiercely, willing me to understand that point the most, and I sag into the table, wide green eyes staring into red.
He leans down, slowly, askingly, and I nod, unable to speak.
His lips meet mine and the softness has me lifting my head, pressing into him. I can feel the way his body untenses before he's releasing my hands. One of his going to the back of my neck, the other to my hip. The grip tight, but not painful. He controls his strength masterfully as he opens his mouth, asking for entrance.
I concede, wrapping my arms around his neck before his tongue is exploring my mouth. He squeezes my hip and I hold him tighter, heat flooding my body.
I whimper, before I feel myself being moved. Kaname, once more using his Vampire speed, sits on the couch, holding my body against his as I straddle him. His hand dives into my hair, gripping it, causing a slight pain that has me moaning into his mouth. Never once do our mouths part. He kisses me... no, he devours me, like a deprived man. It's intoxicating and everything I've ever wanted.
When he finally pulls back, I take gasping breaths, having forgotten to breath. I'm entirely flushed, my hair a mess.
When our eyes meet, the heat in his gaze begins to recede, softness taking over once more as his Vampire begins to purr in satisfaction. I move without thought, pressing my cheek against his chest. The sound amps up, his arms closing around me.
"Slow." Kaname mutters to himself.
I giggle into his chest, wrapping my arms around him.
He hums, nuzzling into my hair. "You should know... the Kuran like was created by me... from a donor."
I hum nodding before processing what he said. "You've never..." I trail off. He shakes his head, his body tense.
I turn into him, smiling. "Neither have I." I whisper into his chest.
He relaxes before tensing again. "Oh?" He whispers darkly, heat in his voice.
I laugh, pulling back to look up into his eyes. "Slow. Remember?" I tease.
He takes a deep breath, closing his eyes. When he opens them, the warmth in his gaze has me smiling back.
He cups my cheek, his other hand not having left my waist. "I'm sorry for not telling you sooner." He whispers with remorse.
I look down. "I understand." I whisper, looking back up to him. "No more secrets." I demand, attempting to be firm.
His lips tilt into a fond smile and he nods once. "No more secrets." He promises.
I perk up, beaming at him. His eyes watch me fondly, thumb caressing my hip. "Beloved!" I shout happily, throwing my arms around his neck.
He chuckles, always enjoying my happiness before wrapping his arms around me tightly. I giggle into his neck. "Does this mean you're mine?" I ask shyly.
He nods into my hair, nuzzling. "Always." He presses a kiss to my head. "And you're mine." He whispers possessively.
I tighten my hold on his neck. "Always."
We fall into bed, fully clothed, wrapped up in each other.
