I just want your heart

I’m holding two drinks, one for me and one for Evan. 

“One of those for me?” Evan asks. 

The light goes out. “What the hell? Mom” Evan says.

I turn on my flashlight and start walking, not looking on the ground. I almost fall over something or someone? 

The light turns on again, it’s Dorcas Meadows, the popular girl and one of my friends. 

“Dorcas. Sorry, I didn’t see you. What are you doing on the floor?” I turn her body around. I scream, she has deep cuts on her face. “Oh, my god, Cas! Evan call 911”

“I called, I’m gonna go out to the street to wait” Evan says running out.

I look up and see a woman, I didn’t see her before. She walks away. 

I'm holding Dorcas body tight hoping she's not dead and just passed out.
