Surprise

Hermione: "Cissy, please open the door."

Nothing happened and the door to the bathroom remained closed.

Hermione: "I must use the bathroom and if you don’t want an accident in front of this door, open this godforsaken DOOR."

Narcissa opened the door and walked quickly out of the way. There were dried tears on her face and her cheeks were puffy. Hermione did not notice any of the signs and hurried past her to finally use the loo.

Narcissa tried to hide the fact that she just spent 15 minutes crying in the bathroom and got herself a cup of tea. She sat down on the couch and tried to calm herself.

When Hermione came out of the bathroom, she immediately saw that something was wrong with her girlfriend. She saw her puffy cheeks and red eyes and realized that she must have been crying.

Hermione: "Baby, what happened? Why are you crying?"

Narcissa: "Nothing, darling, I’m fine. Don’t worry."

Hermione: "Cissy, you cannot truly think that I’m going to believe that you are fine. Come on, baby, just tell me what happened."

Narcissa remained quiet and tried to avoid eye contact with Hermione. But Hermione knew something was not right and asked again.

Hermione: "Hey, are you hurt, or did someone say something hurtful?"

Narcissa shook her head.

Hermione: "Baby, you know you can tell me everything. Just talk to me."

Narcissa: "I said I’m fine," she said angrily, "can you please just leave it be? I don’t want to talk about it right now."

Hermione: "So, there is something going on."

Hermione tried again. She could see that her girlfriend was going through something.

Narcissa: "Argh, you are insufferable."

Narcissa stood up from the couch and walked to the kitchen.

Narcissa: "I don’t want to lose you, and if I tell you, you will leave me."

New tears appeared on her cheek. She tried to hide them from Hermione but with no luck. Hermione took Narcissa’s face in her hands and wiped the tears away.

Hermione: "Baby, nothing you can ever tell me can get me to leave you. I love you…. Just tell me, and it doesn’t matter what it is, we can get through it together."

It seemed as if Narcissa was thinking about telling her young lover.

Narcissa: "Do you promise not to jump to conclusions and that you won’t leave me?"

Hermione: "Yes, I promise my love. You are scaring me right now. What is it?"

Narcissa led them to the dining room where they both sat down. She took a deep breath.

Narcissa: "Okay, Ehm, I don’t really know how to start this. But, um, I am late."

Hermione: "To where? Do we have to be somewhere?"

Narcissa: "No, darling, I am LATE, as in my period did not come this month or the month prior."

Hermione tried to process the information her girlfriend just gave her.

Hermione: "WHAT, how can this be?"

Narcissa: "My love, I know the easiest explanation is cheating, but I promise you I would never do something like that. You must believe me."

Hermione: "Baby, I know that you would never do that willingly, but please tell me nothing happened with a man without consent."

Narcissa: "No, no other man was involved in my situation."

You could see from Hermione’s look that she was relieved.

Hermione: "Do you have another explanation? Are you even sure about this? Did you do a test?"

Hermione rambled.

Narcissa: "Yes, I am sure. After I missed my period the second time, I did a diagnostic spell, and it came out positive. I do have an idea how this could have happened. But I know it sounds stupid."

Narcissa started crying again.

Hermione: "Hey, listen to me, I believe you when you say this child is mine. My rational brain just needs an explanation for it."

Narcissa: "Do you remember when we used that spell to make everything real?"

Hermione nodded.

Narcissa: "Well, I think we succeeded a bit too much."

Now it made sense to Hermione, and she began to smile.

Hermione: "So, darling, what you are saying is that I got the love of my life pregnant and that we are going to be parents?"

Narcissa nodded unsure.

Hermione: "OMG, this is the best day of my life. I love you so much. I’m going to be a mom."

Hermione started to dance around the table and dragged a confused Narcissa with her.

Narcissa: "So, you believe me?"

Narcissa asked hopefully.

Hermione: "Of course, baby."

And Hermione kissed Narcissa senseless.

Hermione: "I love you, and we are going to be a family."
