8 Weeks
Narcissa woke up in their bed with a queasy feeling in her stomach. Hermione next to her was still sleeping soundly. She turned her head to see how late it was. It was still early in the morning only 06:00 o’clock. Narcissa turned around with the hopes of being able to find some more sleep, before she has to get up for real. But the movement did not help the queasiness she was already feeling in her stomach. She tried to blend it out, but no such luck.
She felt the colour draining from her face and stood up immediately. Narcissa ran to the bathroom and fell hardly on her knees. Her head luckily made it over the toilet bowl in time when she started retching. She felt the Pasta from yesterday making a reappearance. Her throat felt like it was on fire and Narcissa had difficulty breathing in between the vomiting.
When she finally felt stable enough to turn her face away from the toilet, she stood up to brush her teeth. Narcissa still felt a little nausea but not as much as before. She looked at herself in the mirror. Her hair was sticking to her skin, and she looked as if she was run over with a bus. With one look to the clock, she decided to take a long and refreshing shower, to make herself ready for the day.
In the meantime, Hermione woke up because of her alarm. It was 07:15 and therefore time for her to start her morning routine. Which starts by giving her lovely girlfriend a good morning kiss. She searched Narcissa on the other side of the bed, only to realise she already had left the bed.
Hermione opened her eyes to see the other side of the bed was empty. Strange, she thought. She stood up with the intention of searching Narcissa. As she passed the bathroom, she heard the shower running. Hermione smirked as an idea popped into her brain. She silently opened the door and discarded all her clothes. Narcissa was startled when the shower door opened but calmed herself when she saw her girlfriend joining her.
“Good morning gorgeous” said Hermione and gave Narcissa a kiss “What are you doing up so early? You normally don’t wake up before me.”
“Someone wanted to make themselves known by making their mother nauseas” Narcissa said while caressing her still flat stomach.
“Oh baby, I am so sorry. Why didn’t you wake me.”
“You couldn’t have helped me, darling. And you looked so peacefully asleep.” Explained Narcissa.
Hermione wasn’t satisfied with that explanation. “Please wake me up the next time. I want to be here for you and support you. Even if I can only hold your hair back or bring you a glass of water.”
To hear her girlfriend saying such sweet words warmed Narcissa’s heart and she agreed.
Hermione smirked at that and said: «How about I try and make you feel better.”
She lowered herself and trailed kisses down Narcissa’s body. Giving her lower abdomen extra attention until she arrived at her lady parts. Narcissa tilted her head back and moaned silently.
Hermione and Narcissa lost track of time but fortunately still managed to be punctual to their job.
Narcissa works at the St. Mungo hospital. After the war she started as a trainee to become a healer and last year she finally did it. Now she is one of the best healers in Britain because of her years of experience during the war. The days in St. Mungo are long and hard but she wouldn’t change it for nothing. She loves healing and helping people and enjoys the contact with different patients every day.
Now with the pregnancy she must think about her future in the hospital. At some point she must tell her boss and sometime in the future she must take maternity leave. Who knows how long she will be able to do her work with this pregnancy. She must discuss this with Hermione when they both get home.
They want to start telling people about the pregnancy when she is 12 weeks along. As there is still a high risk that she will miscarriage. Especially at her age the risks are higher. But Narcissa tries not to think about it. As a healer she knows that it is not something that she can control.
After an 8h shift she gets home at 17:00 o’clock. Hermione usually stays at the ministry a little longer, so she slips out of her work clothes into something comfortable. Narcissa thinks about what she could cook for today’s dinner and decides on chicken with potatoes. She opened the container with the chicken in it and was run over with a disgusting smell. She immediately felt her stomach turn and her lunch made an appearance. There was no time running to the bathroom, so Narcissa turned around and held her head over the kitchen sink.
In that moment Hermione came through the fireplace. Hermione saw her girlfriend heaving over the sink and ran to her. She held Narcissa’s hair back and started rubbing her back. After what felt an eternity Narcissa felt good enough to stand up straight and leaning into Hermione.
“Baby what happened?” Hermione asked silently.
Tears started appearing in Narcissa’s cheeks “I wanted to make us some chicken but when I opened the container this horrible smell cam. And I didn’t even make it to the bathroom.” She sobbed into her girlfriend’s hair.
“Shhh, everything is going to be fine.” Hermione tried to soothe Narcissa. “Unfortunately, this sickness and sensitivity to smells is normal. How about for now we ban chicken from our kitchen, and I try to make us something else. You can go to the couch and relax a bit. “
Narcissa nodded and let herself be guided to the couch where she laid down.
Hermione made a simple vegetable soup to not further upset Narcissa’s stomach. Fortunately, Narcissa did not throw up anymore.
Narcissa was exhausted so they both went to bed early. Hermione pulled her lover close to her side and they slept arm in arm.
