OC/Remus Lupin (werewolf student/werewolf teacher)

I slipped out of the castle quietly. It was a late afternoon turning slowly into an evening. The sun was setting down painting the sky in warm orange tones. Everything was quieting down and my body ached from anticipation. I had my school uniform on and I had put my Slytherin cloak over it since the weather was chilly. I couldn’t see the moon yet but I could feel its effects crawling on my skin. My body was tingling and I knew I had only a little of time before I would transform. Full moon was my least favorite time of the month since I had no control over myself in wolf form and I feared that I would do something awful.

I sprinted towards the forest and whisked away a few long strands of hair from my face. I could see a pathway leading to the forbidden forest and dreaded the moment when I would reach the tree line and had to transform again. I was never going to get used to being a werewolf. Since I had been bitten last year, I suffered from the curse of lycanthropy. And since that moment, I had started to hate my existence. I cursed myself and the damn night I had let myself to get hurt by a werewolf. And from that moment, every full moon had been a pure agony for me.

Now the castle was far behind me and I dived into the dark forest, not hearing at thing anymore. I stopped to lean onto a strong oak and catch my breath. My body was already shaking and a shuddering pain started to spread to my bones and spasming muscles. I tried to hold back cries as I removed my clothes with agonizing movements. I thought I had been good on time but the night had fallen much quicker than I had expected. As the last of my clothes dropped to the forest floor, I dropped with them. Crawling on the cold earth I tried to claw at the ground for support. I was begging for something to take the pain away, for a salvation to make me turn back into a human again. I let out a tormented scream and started clawing on my changing skin instead. It burned so badly as if something was trying to make its way out from inside. At some point, I lost my consciousness and control as the monster emerged.

I felt a mossy pillow under me as I slowly regained my senses. It was clear that I was still in the forest and I felt a slight tickle on my cold face when the wind hit my hair. The breeze of wind wheezed around, shuffling leaves in nearby trees and caressing my body softly. It lulled me back into slumber and I rejoiced in the feeling of surviving through the first night of the full moon. I was alive and safe.

My rejoice was eventually short -lived as I felt a movement on my side. My eyes snapped open and I blinked a couple of times adjusting to the blinding light. I was frozen in my place trying to make sense of the situation. Someone’s arm was wrapped around my waist and a body was pressed against me. I felt warmth radiating off them and I held back cold shivers of dread. Who was this person? It was completely unexpected and I slowly moved my eyes to peer down. I hadn’t expected that there would be another werewolf in Hogwarts. It was a man’s body next to me and his smell only confirmed my assumptions about his lycanthropy.

I stiffened as I realized that we were both without clothes. I wished for my memory to return faster but frustratingly I couldn’t recall anything. I lifted a trembling hand and brought it down between my legs. I sucked in a breath and closed my eyes. A slight uncomfortable feeling shot through me and I knew that something had happened. My feeling was proven true as I brought my hand back up and saw how it was coated with clear fluid.

I slipped from the man’s embrace wincing and sat on the ground near him. My aching muscles protested against the movement. I hadn’t known that there was another werewolf in Hogwarts. My eyes drifted to the still sleeping form and my pulse went through the roof as I realized who he was.

“Fuck”, I muttered under my breath.

I brought my knees to my chest and hugged them in order to calm myself down. The man was my new DADA professor, Remus Lupin. I was very screwed. He laid on the ground on his side and I could see lots bruises across him and a nasty wound on his chest. The cut looked deep but the blood seemed to have dried a while ago.

I hoped with all my heart that I hadn’t been the one to harm him, but a voice inside of me warned me otherwise. I wanted to know how he had gotten it. I patted my body down and winced when I hit painful bruises on my side. But the lilac coating on my torso and scratches were nothing compared to his wounds. I had gotten off easy this full moon and I longed for my memories return. Until then, I couldn’t be sure of anything.

Professor Lupin groaned and I could see him waking up slowly. He seemed to notice the pain and he lifted a hand to his chest.

“Don’t”, I said and his brown eyes snapped open. “It needs to be cleaned”, I continued quietly.

“What are you doing here?” he started to ask but his voice faded as he trailed his eyes across my bruises.

He looked at my naked form with an alarmed look. The confusion was written across his face and his mouth was pulled back into a thin line. My green eyes found his as he brought his gaze back up.

“What can you remember?” I asked.

“Nothing yet. We didn’t do anything, didn’t we?” he asked carefully and I cowered under his gaze bringing my eyes down to the ground.

“I can’t say for sure”, I said quietly.

I closed my eyes and waited for his answer. I heard shifting and a hand lifted my jaw up and I found myself yet again looking at his eyes. He was searching my face desperately while sitting on his knees in front of me. He looked older now that he was awake, lines from sleep deprivation and old scars etched on his face. His brown hair was ruffled and his appearance was shaken. He took a deep breath and I knew that he could smell the answer with his heightened senses.

“No,” he whispered. “What have I done?” he mumbled to himself as he started to back away from me.

I grabbed his shoulders and held him.

“Look at me”, I commanded. “I am still unmarked. You didn’t bite me. You know that we can’t control what happens during the night”, I pleaded.

“I took advantage of you! This shouldn’t have never happened. I can’t believe I could do that”, he answered angrily.

“Please – “, I said as he pulled his body away from mine clearly lost in self -pity and desperation.

“I have to tell Dumbledore, I’ll resign today,” he said and stood up.

“You won’t do such a thing!” I said and pounced up as well. How could he be so irrational? We don’t even know what happened. Not until the full moon was well over. I walked closer to him. He bit his teeth together.

“Please, sir. I have to know what happened before we tell anyone”, I said with a pleading tone.

“It’s my duty to inform Dumbledore”, he shook his head. “It’s out of the question.”

“I’m an unregistered werewolf!” I cried out. “If you tell him I’ll be expelled. I’ll be sent to Azkaban!”

As I said that, an angry look crossed Lupins features. He was clearly trying to wrap his mind around the fact that I was an illegal werewolf. It was very risky to be one as I wasn’t able to even receive medical treatment compromising the discovery of my condition. And I couldn’t even get any relief to my lycantrophy if I wanted to.

“You can’t be serious”, he spoke.

I said nothing. I knew that the silence was enough to give Lupin the answer. He looked shocked. His face went white and his posture slumped. He was out of words.

I lifted my hand and accioed my wand. It took a while, before it appeared into my outstretched hand. I conjured a cloak and pulled it on to cover my naked form. Remus Lupin was still in shock and I wondered if I could say anything to make him better. I eventually decided against it and conjured clothes for him too.

“Here”, I said offering the cloak. He took it into his shaking hands and put it on, wrapping it tightly around his slim form.

“Promise me you’ll keep it a secret”, I whispered.

“I don’t seem to have any other options”, he answered with a crushed voice.

I nodded and backed away from him. My heart was beating fast and I could barely function after the scare of professor Lupin telling someone. This situation was like a nightmare. I left him standing there alone as I slipped out of the clearing and disappeared to the woods.
