two hands
Later that day Caspian was eating his dinner at his desk in his dorm, a special accommodation as he didn't like the loud bustling atmosphere of the great hall when he heard a knock on the door. He sighed and got up and opened the door. It was Regulus. "What do you want?" Caspian bluntly said, he wasn't being rude he was just asking a genuine question. "Was I interrupting something?" Regulus spoke cautiously. "No, I just..." Caspian groaned he didn't want to lose his only friend due to his own stupidity. "I'm sorry." He opened the door wider to let Regulus in. There was a teddy bear on his bed Regulus looked at it and smiled. "What's its name?" he asked in a warm tone. "It's embarrassing... Mr. Snugglesworth. I named him that when I was like five." Caspian murmured. "If you have any name suggestions let me know." Regulus just sat down on the bed and put the teddy bear on his lap. "I think it's a great name!" Regulus thought for a moment. "But you could name him Polaris... Like the star in the constellation Ursa Minor, also known as the little bear." Regulus was smart, it was a good name. "Alright. From now on his name is Polaris!" Caspian smiled. Regulus put the bear back down on the bed. Caspian moved to sit beside Regulus. "Can I?" Caspian looked down at Regulus' hand. "You want to hold my hand?" Regulus questioned. Caspian took a breath and thought for a bit. "I was thinking of just touching it, but maybe holding someone's hand would be nice?" Caspian spoke with a slight shake to his voice as if he was nervous. Regulus smiled. "You are really peculiar, you know that right? But sure, you can hold... or touch my hand." Regulus' voice was warm like the sun. Caspian started moving his shaky hand towards Regulus' hand. The moment their hands touched there was a spark and Caspian took Regulus' hand into his own. "This is nice... I like this... I really like this." Caspian smiled widely, you could hear a tinge of excitement in his voice. "You're acting as if you haven't held anyones hand before." Regulus remarked. "Not in a very long time." Caspian's smile slowly turned into a frown, his excitement dwindling away as an unwanted, sad memory washed through his thoughts.
