Chapter 3
Regulus had last seen Caspian at lunch, it was now getting close to dinner and he had searched nearly the entire school except for the bathrooms. Regulus proceeded to look for Caspian in the same school bathroom where they had met. The other boys barely used this one because it was far away from most of the classes which is the reason Caspian tended to use it; it was quiet and secluded. As Regulus walked in he saw Caspian crying on the floor, he was sitting in the fetal position. Caspian's head immediately shot up and he wiped his tears as if nothing had happened. Caspian's head was cloudy and foggy — dissociated — which to Regulus looked like he was disoriented, maybe on drugs. 'he's obviously intoxicated with something' Regulus thought and groaned, annoyed that he had to probably take Caspian to the hospital wing. Regulus roughly pulled Caspian up and guided him out of the bathroom and slowly to the hospital wing. Caspian didn't really understand what was happening all he knew was that he was there with Regulus, but why was Regulus acting annoyed? He honestly felt too embarrassed by what was currently happening in his body to speak up. Regulus' touch felt nearly uncomfortable with the amount of dysphoria Caspian was facing, he didn't want his friend to see him any differently just because he was bleeding out of a part he shouldn't have. But at the same time it was slightly comforting. Everything was a blur for Caspian while walking to the infirmary. Regulus eventually got Caspian situated on a bed in the hospital wing and sat down in the chair beside the bed. "I don't want you to be in trouble for anything you had but it's better you're here than in your dorm... Incase something happens you know?" Regulus sighed slightly out of frustration and the lack of response from Caspian. The nurse soon came she only took one look at Caspian before speaking up. "Regulus may you please leave? Caspian needs some privacy. Go sit outside." The nurse gestured to the door. Regulus agreed hesitantly and left to sit on a bench. It had been an hour of waiting until Caspian walked out with his head held low holding a bag of what looked to be menstrual products. "Hey Casp?? Do you have a girlfriend or something?" Regulus teased not knowing the implications of his words and how they would hurt his friend. "LEAVE ME ALONE!" Caspian shouted and fled off not shortly after bursting into tears. Regulus was genuinely confused at the reaction. Caspian was quite clingy the other day why was he now wanting to be left alone? And more importantly why did he have menstrual products with him now? Regulus spent the rest of the evening pacing the common room until he decided to go to Caspian's dorm and check on him. He knocked softly on the door "Casp... Are you okay?" Regulus words were soft and filled with worry. "L-leave me alone." Caspian said through the locked door in between quiet sobs. Regulus quickly whipped out his wand and said. "Alohormora!" The lock unlocked quickly and he pushed his way in and shut the door behind him. Caspian was curled up in his bed his blankets swirled around him like a nest. "Hey buddy..." Regulus knelt down beside Caspian's bed. "What's wrong?" Regulus' eyes were filled with genuine concern, he was older than this boy so he felt almost responsible for him. "Everything!" Caspian choked. "I'm sure it's not that bad!" Regulus reassured in a hopeful tone. Caspian took a deep breath, he never wanted Regulus to know he was trans but he felt as if there was no other way to explain this. "Regulus... I'm transgender..." Caspian paused and then blurted out. "I'm on my period and if you don't see me as a man anymore just leave okay?" Instead of having a negative reaction Regulus smiled and got up from his kneeling position and joined Caspian in the bed. Regulus scooped Caspian up from his nest and cradled him. "My little man is gonna get all the candy he wants tomorrow from honeydukes and it will be all on me as well!" Regulus grinned. "If anyone ever gives you a hard time about... you know... I know a few small hexes that will make them wish they hadn't!"
