Chapter 13

She lays Caroline down on her bed, quickly shutting the door behind her.
"Do you want me to get someone? Maybe Tyler?" Rebekah asks, immediately receiving a panicked no.

Rebekah nods, grabbing a blanket from the cupboard and walking over to Caroline once more.
"Lay back," she says softly, wrapping the soft green material around Caroline.

"I know this wasn't alcohol, so do you want to talk about it?" Rebekah asks her and receives another shake of the head.

She smiles softly and brushes her hair out of her face.
"I'm going to lock the door and leave to go get you some water and medicine. Would you like me to leave the light on?"
"Yes please," Caroline says, tugging the blanket closer around her.

"Alright, I'll be back."

She squeezes Caroline's hand briefly before leaving. Closing and locking the door with an advanced charm before walking away.

Poor girl, she is going to kill whoever touched her. It was probably the stupid guy she is dating. Lockwood was it.

She rushes towards the kitchen and reaches out to tickle the pear.
"Skipping the party?"
"Fuck off Marcel," she snarls, pushing her way into the kitchen.
"Water and a snack plate please. Oh and chocolate, chocolate solves everything." Rebekah says to one of the house elves, groaning as Marcel follows her into the kitchen.

"Snack plate? You hate snack plates."
"It isn't for me Marcel," she snarls as she takes the food and storms back out of the kitchen.

Annoying, frustrating, wench.

She rushes back to the Slytherin common room without any more interruptions and knocks on the entrance to her room, "Caroline, it's me, Rebekah."

Unlocking and opening the door, she gives Caroline a small smile and shuts the door behind her.
"I brought snacks, water, and chocolate. I also have some potions to help with the bruising on your arms." Rebekah says softly.

Caroline nods and reaches for one of the biscuits as Rebekah sits the tray down beside her.
"Thankyou,"
"Always," Rebekah says, turning and walking over to her cupboard.
"I have some pyjamas you can borrow or I can still one of Kol's or Klaus's shirts for you to borrow. Whatever you need."
"You pyjamas are fine, this means a lot to me Rebekah." Caroline says, already looking more relaxed.

Rebekah nods, finally finding the potion she was looking for.

Thank merlin for Klaus and his annoying habit of getting injured far too often.

"Here, this will help the bruises." Rebekah says, handing the vial to Caroline so she could drink it.

Caroline takes the vial just as the door bursts open.
"Hah! I told you she wouldn't have actually brought a guy to her room!" Kol yells, jumping up and punching a fist into the air.

"Then who the fuck did she-" Klaus stops mid sentence when he sees Caroline, his eyes dart to the bruises on her skin and then to the potion she is drinking.

"You owe me 20 galleons Marcel, you actually thought she would have a guy here."
"Everyone out!" Rebekah screams, pointing at the door.
"Out! Out! Out!" She grabs Kol's arm and pushes him out, roughly shoving Marcel in the chest.

"Ow! Beks come on," Kol whines, trying to get back inside the room.
Once both boys are out, she turns to Klaus, "Nik?" Rebekah says, waving a hand in front of his face.

"What happened?" he asks.

Caroline, who was still staring at the door Rebekah pushed the boys out of jumps at his voice, her amused grin slipping from her face.

"Nothing that is any of your business," Rebekah snaps.

Caroline watches Klaus with wide eyes and Rebekah groans in frustration.

If what I'm thinking is right, and the rips in her top mean what I think they mean then why in merlins name would she want a guy around her. Least of all my brother. My brother makes no one feel safe.

"It isn't a big deal," Caroline says, lifting the potion to her lips.
"Wait, there is a spell that will make it taste better," Klaus says, waving his wand at the potion.
Caroline sends him a bright smile before drinking the potion.
"Strawberries?" she says, raising an eyebrow at him.
"Sorry, they are my favourite. It's the only flavour I know,"
"No, it's nice."

Rebekah rolls her eyes, "Seriously, I get the potion normally but she gets strawberry flavouring. The family love is real strong,"
Caroline giggles, her eyes shining with mirth.

At least someone finds this funny.

"The last thing she needs is for you to be here,"
"It's fine, nothing actually happened to me. He can stay, just don't come too close," Caroline says softly.

"Fantastic, would you like me to bring you anything?"
"One of your fancy Mikaelson charms books. I have been dying to read them since I heard they existed. It is criminal for your family to keep those spells all to yourself."
"Well if I let you read it, you have to make an unbreakable vow not to share the spells."

Caroline's jaw drops and Rebekah cant help the smirk that forms on her face.

"Wait really?"
"No, love. I am messing with you. I'll go get you that charms book."

Caroline nods enthusiastically and Klaus leaves to go fetch the book.
"I haven't been able to get that book away from him since Elijah passed it down to him. He has been determined to memorise every spell and wont pass it down until he has done that."
"You mean you haven't read it?" Caroline asks.

"I haven't even admired the cover,"
Caroline giggles.
"Read it with me,"
"Really?"
"It's your family's book."

Rebekah smiles brightly and moves to sit next to Caroline on the bed.
"You know, I am sorry for getting you kicked off debate team," Rebekah says.
"I'm sorry I started the rumour about you and Damon,"
"That was you! How did I not find out that was you,"
"I am very good at covering my tracks,"

Rebekah snorts, "I'll give you that one."
"You should come back to the planning squad, as much as you annoy me you did have some good ideas."
"Well I would have chosen the 20's for tonight to start," she says, nudging Caroline.

"Yea yea, you would have been outvoted, I have the whole squad wrapped around my finger,"
"Same with my brother. Oh can you please ask him to play quidditch again this season, the new seeker is horrid."
"Why would he listen to me,"

Before Rebekah can answer, Klaus walks into the room again, now holding a thick book in his hands.
"Hey Klaus," Caroline says, leaning forward to pick up the book.
"Hi?" he says, raising an eyebrow at her as she greedily snatches the book from his hands.

"Are you playing quidditch this season, I didn't see you after the practice the other day?" she asks, batting her eyes up at him.

Sneaky little witch.

"I don't think so, why?"

"Just curious, wanted to know whether I should look out for you on the pitch."

His eyes dart to hers, watching her closely.
"Funnily enough, Kol did beg me to rejoin the team and Marcel says the position is open to me if I want it. I have until the week before the season starts to decide."
"Will you take him up on his offer?"
"Why would I?"
"Do you have anything better to do?"
"Well no,"
"Then why wouldn't you? You enjoy quidditch right?"
"Yes,"
"Then play,"

I have to give it to her, she talks quick. I wouldn't want to be the person arguing with her.

"I have other things to fulfil my time,"
"Well I saw your replacement and-"
"You watch the trainings?"

That caught his attention. Good one Caroline.

"I do yes, I rarely miss them. I have friends on the team,"

And a boyfriend, but you didn't mention him.

"Interesting,"

Oh of course that would be interesting.

"How is that interesting?"

No, Caroline. Don't keep talking. You convinced him.

"Well you don't seem that interested in the sport,"

Nik, just join the team.

"Well, I find some of it interesting to watch,"

Oh nice save.

"And what exactly do you find interesting?"

Nope.
"Ok, you should go Nik. That way Caroline and I can read together." Rebekah says, breaking their moment.

"Very well, I will be back for that book though,"

"Bye Nik,"

The moment he has left, Caroline turns to Rebekah.
"Do you think it worked?"
"It bloody well had to of. There is no way I witnessed all that flirting for nothing."

Caroline giggles and opens the book for them to read.
