So this is Christmas
Summary
I am doing my own December writing challenge! I will be writing short one-shots based on 31 prompts with multiple ships and platonic/sibling relationships this month and I've decided to post them. These are also being posted on my Tumblr
Note
I am technically starting this a day late so prompts 1 and 2 are being posted today, obviously, I am hoping to update this every day but I also might just upload like 5 on a Friday. I will be writing about multiple ships but idk who I will be writing about until I write each prompt so the tags will be updated as I go, I highly doubt any prompt will make me write a lot so most will be short.I will put the prompt and the ship in each title :) hope you enjoy!

Day 23- sleepover- black brothers

“C’mon Reg,” Sirius whines, dragging his feet as he follows his brother around the bookstore, “it’ll be fun to have a sleepover, it’ll be like we’re little again,”

“Right because this always had the best connotations,” Regulus snorts, rolling his eyes as he picks one of the books off of the shelf to read the blurb.

“But that’s the point!” Sirius yanks the book away from Regulus, forcing him to pay attention to the conversation. Regulus slaps him on the arm and tries to snatch it back but Sirius is faster and laughs as his brother grabs the air.

“Fuck off,” Regulus breathes out, pushing Sirius gently and grabbing back his book. “I don’t want to.”

“But why,” Sirius trails after his brother once more, still trying to persuade him, “It’ll be good for us,”

“What would we even do? It would be weird, and we’d spend the whole night thinking about the fact that it was supposed to help us heal or whatever bullshit she said that it would be awkward and awful.” Regulus shivers as he speaks like it's actually making him uncomfortable to even be talking about this.

“I don’t know,” Sirius shrugs, not wanting to push it too far, he doesn’t want to actually upset Regulus or push this too far, “If you don’t want to we don’t have to,”

“See now you’re just making me feel guilty,” Regulus stops suddenly in the aisle, his voice sounding hurt but his face turning to stone to hide his emotions, “That’s not fair,”

“I’m not trying to make you feel guilty, what are you on about?”

“The whole ‘oh well if you don’t want to’ it’s not fair,” Regulus explains, mocking Sirius and enunciating the ‘you’.

“Well, that wasn’t to make you feel guilty! I was trying to make you feel better about it!” Sirius wraps an arm around Regulus’ shoulder and pulls him closer to his side, ignoring Regulus’ little scoff of disgust as he does so.

“Well you’re shit at it,” Regulus states bluntly, elbowing Sirius in the side before moving forward towards the tills, his arms full of books. “And you’re paying for these,” Sirius laughs, but agrees, he spoils his brother but it comes with the territory really.

“Come back to mine?” Sirius asks in the car park, searching his pockets for the keys to his car, he drove Regulus into their therapy session this morning so he doesn’t have his bike. “I think I have the ingredients for waffles,”

Regulus nods, getting into the car in silence. It’s always a bit awkward after a session, they fight and argue, spend the entire hour and a half reliving memories they’ve spent years trying to forget and then have to just go and run errands like it's a normal day? It’s weird, and they’re both still getting used to this.

They make it halfway with minimal words being spoken, neither one of them knowing what to say now that the conversation revolving around today’s topic has died out.

Their therapist had suggested they have a sleepover after a conversation about sneaking into each other's rooms to help them clean and dress wounds as kids, normally falling asleep in the other room as they tried to help them forget the pain and stop crying. She had suggested that having a sleepover would help, them spending the night in the same room, watching a film or something would help them move past this.

They’re stopped at a red light when Regulus dramatically groans, scrubbing his hands over his face and pulling at the ends of his hair, Sirius looks over at him, his face scrunched up in pure confusion, and Regulus turns to him, glaring so ferociously that Sirius panics that looks may be able to kill.

“Take me back to mine,” He deadpans and Sirius splutters as he tries to form the words to protest, “I need to grab stuff for your stupid fucking sleepover.”
