So this is Christmas
Summary
I am doing my own December writing challenge! I will be writing short one-shots based on 31 prompts with multiple ships and platonic/sibling relationships this month and I've decided to post them. These are also being posted on my Tumblr
Note
I am technically starting this a day late so prompts 1 and 2 are being posted today, obviously, I am hoping to update this every day but I also might just upload like 5 on a Friday. I will be writing about multiple ships but idk who I will be writing about until I write each prompt so the tags will be updated as I go, I highly doubt any prompt will make me write a lot so most will be short.I will put the prompt and the ship in each title :) hope you enjoy!

Day 18- Board game- Dorlene

When Marlene walked through the front door to her home after a long day at work, her muscles aching, her throat dry and cold from the walk home, all she wanted to do was crawl into bed and sleep. What she didn’t want to do was be flooded with fear upon hearing her girlfriend yelling at some unknown person.

“I’ll fucking kill you, I swear to Merlin!” Dorcas’ voice echoed down the hallway and Marlene’s blood runs cold, she slams the door behind her, pulling out her wand as she runs, turning the corner and skidding to an abrupt halt, her shoes squeaking horribly on the wooden floor.

The noise draws the attention of the room to her, and Marlene sighs a deep breath of relief, lowering her wand. Sat in front of her is Dorcas and her friends, huddled around one of the muggle games Marlene and James used to play as kids. The five of them have very competitive personalities its no surprise they threaten each other over it.

“Oh, hey babe, I didn’t hear you come in,” Dorcas smiles, jumping up to come over and kiss Marlene, resting an arm over each of her shoulders “Everything alright?”

Marlene rested their foreheads together, her heart still racing from the fear she had felt walking through that door, panic like she hadn't felt in years coursing through her bones.

“You scared the shit out of me, yelling like that,” She laughs, catching her breath and placing both hands on Dorcas’ waist

“Sorry,” Dorcas whispers sheepishly, moving forward to kiss Marlene gently, ignoring the commotion from the game behind them. They pull apart when a loud crash happens behind them and Regulus starts cursing out the others. Marlene smiles as Dorcas rolls her eyes and laughs at their antics.

“Monopoly,” Dorcas says as an explanation, and Marlene makes an ‘ah’ noise of understanding, “I found it in the spare room and thought we’d give it a go.”

“Well, clearly they’re loving it,” Marlene remarks sarcastically, both of them listening to the arguing behind them as insults and monopoly pieces get thrown around their living room.

“Yeah, well, it was good to play a silly little game and get overly competitive about it, it was fun.”

“I’m glad, I like seeing you happy,” Marlene watches her girlfriend like she’s the only thing left on the planet worth looking at.

“How was work?” Dorcas asks, and Marlene shrugs to avoid answering, she doesn’t really feel like talking about it, and she definitely doesn’t want to ruin Dorcas’ good time. Thankfully, Dorcas doesn’t question her more, distracted by her friends.

“Oi lovebirds,” Barty teases to gain their attention, “Are you coming to play a new game? Evan flipped the board on the last one so we’ve set it up again.” Evan makes a noise of objection and shakes his head.

“I did not!” He leans over and pushes Barty’s shoulder, “That was you, you prick.”

Barty places a hand over his heart and gasps in faux shock, “I would never do such a thing,” The others all laugh, and Dorcas walks back over, dragging her girlfriend by the hand to join them for a long night of board games and drunken gossip sessions.
