EP
Remus doesn’t bump into Sirius again and even though he would deny it if anyone asked, he sort of wishes he could see him again. He stays in the city another month and actually finishes the album, which ends up being pretty short and they decide with the label to make it an EP instead.
“Remus I forgot to tell you but Dorcas wants you to decide how you are going to announce the EP by the end of the week.” Marlene tells Remus while walking to Marlene’s favorite cafe down the road from the studio.
“What? I thought the label would announce it for me.”
Marlene shakes her head “They were going to originally, but decided that you should do it yourself. They think it fits your brand better.”
“What brand? I don’t have a brand.”
Marlene laughs “You totally do. It’s grandpa sweaters, tea, the wilderness, books, heartbreak, being very human and real, basically your brand is being an 80 year old man stuck in a 21 year olds body.”
Remus shakes his head laughing “There is no way that classifies as a brand.”
“Clearly you haven’t been keeping up to date with your fan base. Do you even have TikTok? It’s where your fanbase is primarily located.” Marlene asks.
Remus scratches the back of his head, really feeling like an old man “No, it never really seemed like my thing you know the dances and all that.”
He looks over and Marlene’s jaw might as well be on the ground “We have to fix this right now! Give me your phone.” She reaches her hand out and takes his phone before he even agrees to anything.
They reach the cafe before she is done furiously typing on his phone and Remus has to guide her in to keep her from walking into the door frame. He picks out a table in the back corner of the cafe and puts down his tote bag. “What do you want me to get you?” He asks unsure of what she drinks.
“Black coffee with two sugars and extra milk, thank you.” Marlene says and briefly looks up, flashing him a smile before looking back to his phone.
Remus goes up to the counter and orders for both of them and waits for the drinks to be brought out. When the worker, a girl who is probably around his age, hands him his drinks she winks at him which makes him very confused on his walk back to the table. When he sits down he notices that his phone is in front of his seat and not in Marlene’s hand anymore.
“So I downloaded TikTok, twitter, and instagram and created official accounts for you on each along with a burner account that you can just use to enjoy the app.” Marlene explains while Remus opens the apps. She used a photo of him in the studio for the profile picture on all the official accounts and a picture of a cat for all the unofficial accounts.
He looks at her in question at the cat picture “Why did you use a cat for the unofficial accounts?”
She roles her eyes “Because no one would expect it to be you behind the account that way.” Remus can’t find it in himself to argue that no one would suspect him if he just used the default picture because it seems like a waste of his energy.
They sit together talking occasionally for the next few minutes mostly just enjoying their drinks and Remus figuring out how to use the new apps.
“What is that on the side of your cup?” Marlene asks on their way out of the cafe.
Remus looks at the side of his cup and notices that there is a phone number written on it with the words call me next to it. “I think it’s from that barista that gave me our drinks. She winked at me earlier.”
“So what are you going to do about it’s the number?” Marlene asks.
Remus hadn’t really thought about what he would do with it. He was just going to throw out the cup when he got back to his apartment and forget about the number, which is what he tells Marlene.
“Wow Lupin, you’re a little heartbreaker aren’t you?” Marlene laughs while speaking and Remus can’t help but join in.
“Well she would be disappointed anyway when she realized I am incredibly gay.” Remus points out. Why would he lead the poor girl on if he had no interest?
They walk back to the studio talking about anything they forgot to mention earlier and when it came time for them to part Marlene gave him a crushing hug that Remus could barely breathe during.
Remus headed down the street towards his apartment where he promptly fell asleep, dreaming of home and his friends.

Remus steadies the tripod that is sat across from him on his bedroom floor, he can hear Regulus and Lily laughing at him but he’s too focused on making sure the camera will work to care.
He went back home a week ago and finally decided how to announce the EP with the help of Regulus surprisingly.
…..two days ago…..
“Remus have you figured out how you’re announcing the EP yet?” Regulus asked from where he was perched on Remus’s bed, looking down at the floor where Remus lay staring directly at the ceiling.
Remus turned his head towards him “Obviously not. Do you have any ideas?” He was desperate at this point seeing as he only had two days left until his deadline.
“I do actually.” Regulus said and fifteen minutes later Remus was emailing Dorcas with his plan to announce the EP on his YouTube channel.
…..back to present…..
Remus had to film the video at least ten times before he thought it was good enough. Lily had already offered to edit the video for him the day before and he was once again endlessly grateful for her existence.
The video was posted at midnight the next day, which he decided on because it was a full moon which is also the EP’s title. He clung onto Lily’s hand and hid his face in her shoulder while Regulus uploaded the video. Thousands of pings instantly showed up on his laptop along with hundreds of comments from excited fans.
Remus doesn’t stay up any later, choosing to instead wait until the next morning to read any comments.
The next morning he was woken up by Lily shaking him roughly. “Remus get up right now you fucker!” Lily yelled.
Remus blinked as his eyes adjusted to the harsh early morning light infiltrating his room through his windows “What?”
“You’re on the news!” Lily shouted.
That had Remus shooting straight up out of bed “WHAT!?!”
