Doodle God
Dick entered to a scene that shouldn't be familiar but was.
Bruce was on the floor, having an existential crisis. Tim, Jason and Harry were laughing at him. Damian was being the good kid and not laughing while also looking like he was going to rupture something from holding it in.
Cass looked confused but glad to be included.
"Fucks sake, we were gone for like 15 minutes." Harper sighed, walking around Dick.
"Yeah, if we were going to mock Bruce, then at least have the decency to wait til we get back." Tom also walked around Dick as he helped carry in their haul of Nando's.
"What are we laughing at Dad for?" Cullen asked, coming in with the drinks.
"... Terry drew a picture of the family, as small children do and...well, I don't think his artistic prowess has appeared just yet." Damian said, diplomatically, going to help Tom with dinner.
"Dami is such a good brother. Its the same skill level you'd expect from a 3 year old." Harry sighed as he flopped across Bruce's stomach.
"Stick figures then. Alright but why are we laughing at Bruce?" Dick resigned himself to being the last sane detective in the family.
"Like there needs to be a reason?" Tom called from further in the kitchen. Cass came over to Dick to grab the food Dick was holding and very helpfully pointed to the refrigerator.
On it was the usual notes and reminders and miscellaneous magnets they had collected from all over the world.
But there was something new.
Like Harry said, it was a child's drawing and someone had helped Terry write his first name on it. The toddler had drawn their frankly absurdly large family. From Damian and Cullen on one end and assumably going by age up to the other end though Terry stood between his parents.
He was able to identify most of the family, smiling a bit at Terry's attempt at drawing the Nightwing logo on him until he got to Bruce and Harry.
Harry was the next smallest figure aside from Terry and had glasses and 3 hairs sticking straight up.
Bruce however....
"Why is there a brown cheese triangle on Bruce's head???"
Jason, barely holding up Tim, let out a wheeze and sunk both him and Tim to the floor like the Titanic, laughing.
"Father usually has his hair slicked back so...that was a way to interpret it." Damian came back, sipping his own smoothie. Dick silently applauded his creativity in holding in his smile.
Because now that he knew what the hell had them in such stitches, he agreed this was hilarious.
"We should frame this. The first time Terry unintentionally gave Bruce an EC." Tom came in, munching on his sandwich. "Anyway, you lot get your food before it gets cold or Cass eats it all."
"Its not that funny," Bruce grumbled from his spot on the floor like the drama queen he is.
In a complete show of sibling solidary, everyone ignored him.
"Where is the little Picasso anyway?" Harper asked as they headed to the kitchen to eat. Even Harry left his husband on the floor in favor of some Cheeky Nandos. If the legends are true, he constantly sent Bruce over to England to grab him some Nandos at the oddest hours leading to many a Batman sighting overseas.
"Its naptime. We told him his picture was great before tucking him in." Harry said, setting aside Bruce's meal. He may not cater to his dramatic husband but he still made sure he ate.
"As you should. Terry is doing quite well in expressing himself." Damian nodded.
"He really said that like he didn't fucking lose it over that picture for like 2 minutes once Terry was out of earshot." Jason ruffled Dami's hair who didn't even bother to dodge.
"That's because you said Father looked like Tristan Taylor from Yu-Gi-Oh and-"
"Fuck, he's right." Harper groaned.
"It can't be unseen," Tim nodded sagely.
"You are all so mean to me and for what?" Bruce grumbled as he took his seat and grabbed his own meal.
"We love you Daaaad!" The kids chorused at him and even Tom smiled a bit. Bruce flushed and focused on his food.
There was peace for a couple moments as everyone ate before it was broken as it always were when they were all together.
"So...I was thinking bronze frame to match Bruce's hair..."
"HARRY."
