Chapter 1
James Potter arrived here 60 days ago. Which means 60 days ago he died along with his wife Lily. To James it was a split second between when he saw Voldomort and ended up here. Here was the afterlife he guessed and to that he was correct. He awakened next to lily in a field of tall grass and flowers then he automatically walked towards his mother and father as lily did the same. They were greeted with all their late relatives which now included themselves.
Soon after that James was explained what had happened to him. The afterlife as he learned was similar to the mortal world. It was the same geography as Earth but much bigger to accommodate all the dead souls. There was no death though and was much more peaceful. There was no money. No rush, and time wasn’t that big of thing. The people here understood things much more then they could on earth. Because something about the soul being full or something to be honest James’ wasn’t listening when it was explained to him.
Now, 60 days later he settled into this world he was happy and blissful. He and Lily separated in a mutual agreement after they found out what happened with Harry. James had wanted Sirius or Remus to be his Godfather but lily didn't want that and they hadn't decided who it was going to be before this happened. So Harry was sent to Lily's sister which they both disliked. If they were to be honest their marriage wasn't in the best place before and they were both looking for a way out. Not because they didn't love eachother but because they didn't mesh that well.
Now James was on a hunt. The hunt to find his lost lover Regulus Black. James asked around his family or anyone who might know but he didn't find anything. Then he thought back to some of his conversations with him about the places he loved most.
“I want to live in France, in a little cottage with a library made out of dark Mahogany wood full of all the books i’d ever want to read and that one painting of the sea by Aivazovsky ”
James recalled Regulus saying once when he and him snuck out and sat on top of the owl house one night. James thinks fondly of those moments.
Before he really registered what he doing James was on the move he ended up taking the floo network, or the afterlife version, to France when he got there he arrived in a small town in Normandy “Nows a good time to have a Marauders map” he whispered out to no one. After a couple days of searching and finding nothing he decided to head back to London.
“I don't know what to do mom, like how do I find him?” James asked looking defeated into his coffee at the kitchen counter as his mom cooked.
“Who darling?” She asked
“Regulus Black”
“Oh yes Regulus, I reckon you should try the Hoover map”
“The what?”
“The Hoover map, its a map in every library basement that keeps track of the last known address of afterlife Wizards” she continued, carefully cracking eggs into the bowl of paste.
“Why is called Hoover?’
“I’m not sure but thats all I can think of”
“All right thanks Mom i’ll check it out” James said getting up from the stool, before grabbing his jacket and heading out the small house.
