Chapter 46

Chapter 46:

Now that he was in the room his anger was replaced by keen curiosity as he looked around the room that looked so much cozier than his appeared. Granger had a knack for creating comfort it seems he thought with envy.

Out of the corner of his eye, he spied Granger still stuck to the same spot as when the door opened looking at him with a mix of anger and indignation at the intrusion. In typical Draco fashion his mouth started moving before his brain did “you can’t hog the room of requirement to read. I’d thank you kindly if you give up the room for the night.”

Granger's features bored on murderous as she crossed her arms and replied “I know that rich twats like you are used to getting their every whim accommodated, but I can assure you Malfoy, this is not going to be an example of that. Go find another space to do whatever it is you were going to do tonight, this room is mine.”

“This room surely isn’t yours, it’s the castle, and I require it, you’re just reading, you can go the library or your rooms for that”

“I don’t want to be among students in the library, and I shan’t be combined to my rooms to accommodate you.”

“You forget that when you came to me for a favor, I very graciously agreed, I am helping you find your answers, the least you can do is give up the only room in the castle I can get any real peace.”

“I already thanked you for the help that…with that issue, but that doesn’t mean I owe you, you agreed to do a favor that benefits everyone, this one would only benefit you.” She seemed to stand her ground.

“Oh spare me the greater good, holier than thou Granger routine. I’m not in the mood tonight, I shan’t leave this room now that I’m inside.” Draco through with equal vitriol. Of the two of them, he was the one in need of blowing off steam. He wasn’t the one shagging a random townie last night, matter of fact, as of late, he wasn’t shagging anyone. Draco’s rage seemed to swirl about again. If she wanted a show down then a showdown she’ll have.

“i didn’t cause your bad mood, do not take it out on me!” she snapped back. But hadn’t she caused it, didn’t all of this anger start surfacing when he saw her earlier? He had enough foresight not to say such things but he knew how to end this. He stepped closer to her than he’d been since that night of the fall collision. He looked down his nose at her and from between clenched teeth hissed out “Why don’t you take those books of yours and find your way back to wherever you spend the last night, Granger.”

Granger’s countenance became frozen with shock or rage, or a combination of both, his words found their mark and she was stunted. Whether at his discovery of the events or his throwing it so casually in her face, he wasn’t sure.

With equal venom he looked up at him meeting his eyes square on and spit out “Fuck you, Malfoy” In their closeness he could feel the heat of her body near him, he can smell the sweet smell of her shampoo and he can feel the raging shake of her body, but before his lesser developed parts leaned into it, she was gone in an instant, grabbing for her shawl and storming out the room.

All around him the room convulsed and transformed into its familiar shape. Without looking Draco reached for the closest weapon on his left and began hacking at the target until every emotion in him was drilled into a focal point at the end of his weapon.

Draco lost track of the hours. But he would only get 2 hours of rest before the next day.
