Day One

“If you don’t stop that, I’m going to throw you out that fucking window. What are you doing?” Draco sputters as I stick my head out the open window. “Seeing how high up we are. Trying to decide if it's worth it.”  I quip as I go back to pacing the hotel room. I’m going to kill her. I can’t believe Pansy would use her wedding as a scheme, but I should have. It’s her. Draco and I have been separated for almost three years. We had a horrible spat over where we were in our lives and decided we were better as friends. That also didn’t go great.

For the first few weekly friends get togethers we stayed to ourselves. After that, we were at each other's throats. Little quips and digs spit across the room at each other. Now I’m stuck in a fucking hotel room alone with him for three days. Pansy insisting on a destination wedding. The hotel is fully booked. The worst part of this fiasco is that Pansy went one step further to force us together. There is a single queen bed for the two of us. No matter how meny times she tells me it was the hotel's fault. She has this glimmer in her eye. The one she gets when she’s scheming.

I spin around on my heel. “You’re sleeping on the floor.” I stare Draco right in the eyes.

“I don’t fucking think so.” Ugh, he is still the same selfish prat from school. I shake my head at him.

“We will figure this out later, I have to go.” Pansy and the rest of us girls are going for drinks tonight. I dig through my bag grabbing an outfit and my makeup bag. I storm down the hall to Astoria and Theo’s room. I catch Theo right as he’s leaving.

“How's rooming with Dray?” I groan.

“I’m going to kill kill him.” I smile sweetly at him. Theo laughs placing a hand on my shoulder.

“Just think, in three days you can return to ignoring his existence again.” I smile softly nodding.

After Astoria and I finish getting ready we make our way to the club. Pansy and Daphne are already there. I glare at Pansy as I slide into the booth.

“Come on, I’ve told you it wasn’t my fault.” I sigh. There is never a universe where I could stay mad at her. We girls spend hours just drinking and talking. Everything was fine until their prospective partners were brought up. Daphne reveals she and Mattheo are trying for kids. God, I’m pathetic. My best friends are all thriving in their relationships and I’m single. That conversation led to me draining drinks faster.

I stumble into the hotel room, my heels clutched in my hand. I click the light on without thinking. My eyes land on Draco in a makeshift bed on the floor instantly. He is already stirring from his slumber. I don’t know why, but that pisses me off, so I do the only thing rational. I throw my heels across the room at him. My aim is shit from how drunk I am, but one of them still hits him, with a hollow thud.

“What the fuck.” he groans getting to his feet. I roll my eyes sauntering to my trunk to retrieve my pajamas. “How much did you drink?” I waggle my finger in his direction.

“That my fine furry friend is none of your business.” I reach down attempting to unbutton my jeans.

“You have no shame do you?” Draco sneers. I laugh still fighting with the button, the tips of my fingers numb.

“It’s nothing you haven’t seen before.” He steps forward crowding my space. I look up to ask what he’s doing. When his hands push mine away. Swiftly undoing the button of my jeans.

“Wha-”

“It’s nothing I haven’t done before.” He mumbles taking my pajamas from my hand. Pointing at the bed. I’m too drunk and tired to care anymore so I settle onto the edge. He shimmies my tight jeans from my legs.

“What would your girlfriend think if she knew you were doing this?”

“I don’t have a girlfriend.”

“But you-”

“I lied.” I stare down at him as he pulls my fluffy PJ pants up.

“Why.” I’m not sure I want the answer, but I’ve lost my filter.

“Because,” He stands up straight looking down at me. “I wanted you to think I was over you.” I take a deep breath, trying to keep my anger under wraps.

“Don’t. You’re the one who broke up with me.”

“It was mutual.”

“No, it wasn’t. You weren’t ready to care about anything, but your job so you left.” He shakes his head.

“I thought.”

“You never thought though, did you. I was willing to compromise but instead, you suggested we weren’t compatible.” He looks like a wounded animal. “God your su-,” I wobble as I jump from the bed. Dashing to the bathroom. I grasp the toilet as I throw up. Draco is kneeling beside me instantly. His cold hand rubbing up and down my back. Once my stomach is empty he helps me to bed. Grabbing me a glass of water, before turning off the lights.
