Have I Told You of This?

Chapter 5

Barty's POV:

"You can just buy me my blunt now." Evan said pessimistically.

"You must think positive!" Barty said shaking him softly by the shoulders, Evan tried scowling at him but he was smiling.

Evan looked beautiful right now. Barty doesn't even think there is words to explain how he looked at this moment exactly, his lips were parted slightly, he had a soft pink tint to his cheeks & his blue eyes that stared right into Barty's soul.

"We're probably going to end up kissing in this audition, aren't we?" Evan asked him, a stray lock of blonde hair fell into his eyes, with his fingers he pushed it away.

"We probably will be." Barty said shrugging, Barty could not help but notice the deepening in the pink tint across his cheeks, making his freckles look darker.

Barty hummed and waited for McGonagall to say that they can start the scene, by this time Dorcas and the others came up to the front stage and sat at the very front theatre seats while Evan & Barty sat on the edge of the stage, there feet slowly swaying side to side.

"You guys are going to have to kiss in this scene!" Marlene said smiling hard

"We know." Barty replied, not taking his eyes off Evan and taking him in like a breath of fresh air.

A few sharp claps were heard making all of them snap there necks the opposite way. "We will be performing Act 2, Scene 6 so all those auditioning for all the other characters please follow Emmeline and in a few minutes you will be ready to preform a scene with your selective friend group."

A few more minutes of waiting until everybody except Marlene was in chitons sitting on the red chairs in front of the stage where Evan & Barty stood. Evan's eyes were knitted with anxiety, Barty watched Evan carefully noticing the flickering tendons as Evan drummed his fingers against his thigh, Barty also noted how Evan seemed to be hairless everywhere except on his head, he had no hair on his chest or on his legs nor arms. His skin also had no bruises or blemishes except the scrape that had now turned into little dots of purple and red on Evan's shoulder. Barty could see the muscles beneath his skin every time he inhaled.

"Are you nervous?" Barty asked Evan, Evan nodded.

"Is it because you have to kiss the ethereal Barty Crouch Jr.?" Barty said teasingly as his hand subconsciously grabbed for Evan's wrist. "Don't be." Barty aided. Evan's body eased.

Pandora's POV:

"Oh fuck, no way!" Pandora muttered under her breath drawing the attention of Dorcas & Marlene.

"What?" Dorcas said in a worried tone, while Marlene gave her a concerned look. Pandora quickly pointed at the stage, the swift arm movement gaining Lily's & James attention, before there gaze was met with Evan and Barty standing towards each other & Barty's hand on Evan's wrist, it looked like they we're about to kiss but a loud whoop made by James broke them out of there trance and they looked towards James to find the whole group looking towards them and applauding sarcastically at James for disrupting.

"Sorry, I was just happy for them." James muttered smiling coyly. This made Regulus let out an accidental snort of amusement & James quietly sighs.

"Ahem! Are we ready?" McGonagall asked not letting them reply by saying "Act 2, Scene 6 in action."

Evan's POV:

"Act 2, Scene 6 in action." McGonagall repeated, Evan was nervous, his heart was pounding and he was breathing quickly. 'Don't be nervous.' Lily mouthed at him.

This was Evan's time to supposedly shine.

"3,2,1 GO!" A backstage personnel announced loudly.

Here it goes.

Evan turned to face Barty and looked at him, taking in Barty's features while he mentally flicked over his lines.

"This is Evan Rosier & Barty Crouch Jr's audition for Achilles & Patroclus in the play, The Song of Achilles. You may commence Act 2, Scene 6." McGonagall said briefly

You mean Lord Evan Rosier, Evan sneered in thought.

"Your hair never quiet lies flat here." Evan said, Evan took a step closer to Barty and touched his head just behind his ear. "I don't think I have ever told you how much I like it."

"You haven't," Barty said

"I should have." Evan drifted his hand to the base of Barty's Patroclus' throat and drew softly across the pulse, no this is acting & nothing else Evan's mind repeated quietly. "What about this? Have I told you what I think of this, just here?"

"No." Barty said.

"Hm, this surely then." Evan said as his hand lightly moved across the skin of Barty's Patroclus' chest; He could feel the warmth of Barty's Patroclus' chest.

"That you have told me." Barty said as his breath hitched a little as he spoke.

"And what of this?" Evan said as his hand lingered over Barty's hips, and drew down the line of Barty's thigh. "Have I spoken of it?"

"You have." Barty confided.

"And this? Surely, I would not have forgotten this." Evan said as he put on a cat's smile and grabbed Barty's wrist. "Tell me I did not."

"You did not."

"There is this, too." Evan said his fingers trailing along the span of Barty's shoulder. "I know I have told you of this."

Barty closed his eyes. "Tell me again."

That was it, that was the end of the scene, so they just took a small step back from each other and stood like fools waiting for McGonagall to say something.

After a few minutes of extremely awkward silence between everybody in the room, "You two can go sit down." McGonagall said pointing them towards their friends.

"Hah! I told you we we're not going to get it." Evan said with a smile, so much for all that wishful thinking huh?

"You guys we're so good." Marlene said, knocking elbows with Barty as they sat down.

"You think so?" Evan asked, they all nodded vigorously. Eventually it was the others turn to audition and they did and Barty & Evan watched silently.

"You are the most beautiful lady to ever walk upon the earth, by gods and mortals." Peter said poetically to Pandora as they auditioned for Paris & Helen.

..."You truly think that Odysseus is more skillful than me?" James said quietly, voice heavy with grief & rage, as he voiced Ajax.

"Odysseus may not be more skillful than you, but I feel that he played a much more valuable part in this war." Sirius responded, voice curt & firm, as he acted out Agamemnon.

..."I am voicing my concerns to you! Achilles will come and kill you, you have killed Patroclus, he will come and sweep down the walls of Troy with his unforeseen rage. You must listen to me Hector, please." Lily pleaded with Regulus as they performed as Hector and Andromache.

"Do you not think that I know? I know what I have done and I know what will come with it!" Regulus replied in a alert tone.

"Evan, please come onstage, you have an audition with Dorcas." McGonagall said shuffling with papers as she sat down, Evan nodded and made a bye motion to Barty before he went on stage.

"You ready, Evan?" Dorcas asked cracking her knuckles. "It's a crying scene by the way." Dorcas added on with a cheery smile.

Evan let out a guttural sigh. "Seriously?" Evan asked her, hoping that she was joking, Dorcas shook her head and laughed, to cry in front of all these people...

"Are you ready?" McGonagall asked them, Evan & Dorcas nodded simply.

"3,2,1 Action!" A personnel shouted.

"You are the one that made him go!" Dorcas shouted at Evan. "He fought to save you, and your darling reputation. Because he could not bear to see you suffer!"

Evan buries his face in his hands, but Dorcas  Briseis did not seem to relent, "You have never deserved him. I do not know why he ever loved you. You only ever care for yourself!"

Evan lifts his head so his teary gaze meets Dorcas' Briseis. Briseis seemed afraid, but she does not stop, her tears flow freely across her cheeks. "I hope Hector kills you!" Briseis snarled.

Evan makes his breath rasp in his throat, as he thought of something sad (Having to see his mother over summer break.) and let the tears run as he replies in a grief-stricken tone, "Do you think I do not hope the same?"

"CUT!" McGonagall shouted loudly, "We have found our Briseis!" McGonagall said smiling proudly. Marlene cheered loudly while the rest of the group congratulated wildly. Dorcas stood upon the stage and blushed slightly at the sight of her friends acting like this just for her.

"You did really good." Evan said in an assuring tone as he stood next to her awkwardly, god why did Evan make everything awkward?

"You did even better." Dorcas complimented him, Evan gave her a grateful nod before she walked off to McGonagall to collect the play script.

"Evan, stay onstage & Barty come upstage, Remus as well please." McGonagall said looking at Barty with a raised eyebrow as he had his legs up on the chair in front of him. Barty hopped up and mouthed to Remus & Evan 'Do you know what scene this is?', Remus and Evan shook their heads.

"Remus, say anything to Barty & Evan- it could be anything you want." McGonagall said.

"Okay..." Remus said thinking about his lines. "I hope 1 room would be just fine for the 2 of you? I have heard that you guys share a room perhaps even bedrolls?" Remus said in the most stoic voice he could find within himself. Barty snickered behind Evan, & even McGonagall cracked a grin.

"You have the role." McGonagall said nodding profusely. They cheered for Remus yet again with the same enthusiasm. "Is there anybody else that wishes to audition for Iphigenia, Lycomedes, Deidamia & Thetis?" Frank,Mary,Marlene & Alice's hand shot up immediately. "Well nobody has seemed to try out for those roles, so you can have them." McGonagall said while peering at a paper.

The same extremely loud cheering commenced again. Evan could see McGonagall try keep down a little smile, maybe she wasn't that bad.

"For the rest of the people that has auditioned give me 30 minutes to go over & announce everybody's each role." McGonagall said as she motioned with her hands for them to sit down.

"That was so good." Lily muttered as the rest of them nodded along with her. For 30 minutes they sat there bored out of there minds, too nervous to talk about anything without it shifting towards what role most of them we're going to get, but the people who got there role early especially Marlene had no problem chatting away animatedly making Evan extremely nervous.

I'm not going to get the role anyway.

⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯

"So...the roles have been confirmed!!!" Emmeline Vance squealed in excitement.

"Yes, it has. Would you like to read it out?" McGonagall offered Vance, Vance nodded and took the paper in her hands.

"Okay, so we have... James as Ajax! Sirius as Agamemnon! Regulus as Hector! Lily as Andromache! Dorcas as Briseis! Pandora as Helen! Peter as Paris! Alice as Iphigenia! Marlene as Thetis! Frank as Lycomedes! Mary as Deidameia! And finally for Patroclus & Achilles, we have the one and only Barty Crouch Jr. & Evan Rosier." Vance squealed.

Everybody roared with celebration, as they shook each other back and forth squealing.

"Okay, wait, wait...wanna come over to our dorm?" James said smiling so hard it looked like it hurt.

"You don't even have to ask." Dorcas & Barty chorused as everybody else had a bright glint in their eyes.

"What is so special about their dorm?" Evan asked Mary.

"You'll see."
