Welcome to Yaxley!
Chapter 1
The Rosier home never really felt like home, the house was always cold and so white it made your eyes sting after looking at the marble walls for too long.
"Evan." Evan's father said in such a cold tone like as if saying his own son's name physically pained him.
"Yes, father?" Evan said in a steady voice, at this moment Evan's mind was filing through a bunch of ways he could have possibly angered his father by being at the dinner table in his father's presence.
"Your mother & I have made a decision about your schooling" He said in such a disinterested tone as he flicked through the newspaper.
"Where to?" Evan said forcing his voice too be about as steady as it ever could be.
"Yaxley."
"The boarding school?" Evan said.
"Yes, where else?" His father said in a rather irritable voice.
A faint "Oh." was let out by Evan.
"Is there a problem Evan?" His father said in a passionless voice.
"No, of course not father." Evan said. His father left the dinner table and Evan sat there motionless for a few moments, he had finally joined the theatrics club and took up ballet as a elective in the school he was in at.
26th January 2023
"EVAN!" A shrill voice bellowed followed by heavy banging on Evan's bedroom door.
"Fuck." Evan muttered as he slipped in to his new uniform. "Just a minute mother!" Evan said patting himself on the back (mentally) for a respectful response.
"JUST A MINUTE?! I AM YOUR MOTHER, YOU DO NOT KEEP ME WAITING" Evan's mother screamed and the banging on the door got 10x more louder which did not improve Evan's booming headache from all the sobbing he did yesterday after learning about his new school.
Evan rushed everything ; brushing his teeth, getting dressed, putting on his shoes, taking a shower, brushing his hair but somehow he still managed too get too the train station on time with his mother's shadow looming over him, telling him how they expect him 'too be one of the finest students in the school, to uphold tradition, be the best of the best' and yada yada.
While Evan's mother droned on about familial law & tradition, Evan spotted a group of friends consisting of a girl with platinum blonde hair, a tall lanky boy with silver gray eyes, a dark skinned girl with long braids that reached her hips and was adorned with charms and beads, and another boy who wasn't as tall as the lanky boy maybe the same height as Evan himself with deep green eyes & fluffy brown hair.
Evan must have been thinking real hard about the group of friends he had seen because when he finally snapped back to reality, his mother was digging her nails in Evan's shoulder making Evan breath out a shaky exhale. "Do not fail us Evan" Evan's mother whispered in his ear, before letting him board the train.
Evan could feel his eyes stinging, his mind felt hazy, he couldn't see straight, he couldn't breathe, wait am i breathing? Evan thought too himself as he threw himself into the carriage, and started too try and control his breathing, he slowly got better, his breathing felt more calm, his mind was more peaceful. I am going to be so fucking lonely. Evan grimaced as he looked about the carriage which meant too sit for 6 but currently only sat for 1 because he seemingly had no friends, why the fuck do i have no friends, why don't I?, why don't I?, why don't I?, why don't I?, why don't I?, why don't I?, why don't I?, why do-.
"Hi! Is this carriage taken or is it just you?" The girl with braids that Evan had previously seen asked him, with the rest of her friends lingering behind her.
"Um... sure." Evan said scooting over right next too the window so there was enough space for everybody. All 4 of them sat down and immediately began talking animatedly about school. Why the fuck do they have too speak so loud?. Evan couldn't bear the noise, so he whipped out his phone and put on his headphones, the noise of the chatter and laughs drowned out and was replaced with some sad hazy music aka Evan's favorite genre. Evan cranked up the volume to the max and rested his head on the window.
'Let's get all the years where I was her friend'
'I thought I lost my heartbeat'
Somebody tapped my shoulder and I turned too see all of there eyes on me. "Uh, yes?" Evan said rather irritably after all this boy with green eyes stopped him from listening too the only thing that he found peace in.
"Your new here, right?" The kid with green eyes said his smile was so bright it could light up rooms and maybe even make the rosier home feel a bit more brighter with just a smile. Evan gave a curt nod, he was in no mood too converse.
But clearly this green eyed boy couldn't catch a hint and droned on about the school, electives, how strict the school is, yada yada. Evan only started paying attention when he started introducing everybody.
"Thats Dorcas, Dorcas Meadowes also known as 'dork' ." The green eyes boy said with a happy expression pointing at the dark skinned girl with the braids and charms who was laughing a sarcastic laugh.
"That's Regulus, Regulus Black also known as 'Reg' ." The tall lanky boy scowled at him and picked up his book & started reading, up close Regulus was very handsome, strong jawline, high cheekbones, slender nose. To put it, he was handsome but not the golden retriever kind more like a black cat.
"That is Pandora, Pandora Lovegood also known as 'panda' ." The girl with platinum hair was the only person to not have a negative reaction and instead waved excitedly at me, her fingernails were painted a bunch of different colors, some blue, some pink, some yellow and some purple.
Then the green eyed boy droned on more and more about school and got into an argument with Regulus on how watching movies is so much more better than listening to music. I knew all of there names, all of there names except the boy's name that introduced me them all. I should ask him what his name is.
"What is your name?" Evan asked the green eyed boy waiting for him too say his name and then talk about the history about it or some stupid nonsense like that, but no his answer was so much different too how he expected.
"Barty, Barty Crouch Jr." The green eyed boy grumbled, the aura in the carriage shifted instantly after he said that like as if everybody knew something that I didn't.
"Right." Evan said before putting on his earphones quickly too avoid the concerned looks being exchanged between everybody except himself & Barty.
'...blessed be the mystery of love'
After a few hours of a very uncomfortable train ride, they made it to the boarding school. It was clear that it was for the rich elites, with the scenery and the massive english tudor style house that laid before them.
'WELCOME TO YAXLEY!' The banner said in red and gold, next too the logo of the school ; a shield divided into 4 quadrants with the word freedom divided into the 4 quadrants.
Evan might just die.
