Still dunno what to name these
The next day Snape was called to a meeting with the headmaster. When he got there, all of the other professors were there.
“Thank you all for coming,” Dumbledore started. “There’s been suspicion that one of our students is not being treated well by their guardian.”
“Dazai, am I correct?” Snape asked.
“Yes. We’ve been informed about some things, most of which I’ll need to talk to you privately about, Severus.”
He knew it was going to be about searching for Dazai’s records illegally. Sighing, he agreed.
“Good. Then we’ll start. Dazai has a father named Mori.”
“The one he always talks about?” Sprout asked.
“He talks about him?”
“Yes… all the time. He’s never said something good about him.”
“That’s concerning… it seems Minerva’s theory was correct.”
Snape gulped, “That Dazai is getting abused by his father?”
He nodded slowly, with a slight frown. “Pomona, what have you heard Dazai saying about his father?”
“If I remember correctly, he was talking about how much he hates him.”
“Yes… it appears this is a problem.”
Raising his voice slowly, Snape announced, “I’ll volunteer to work towards this.”
Aside from the headmaster and Pomfrey, everyone was shocked. They’d never seen Snape like this before. He cared about his students, yes. But never this much.
Albus nodded. “Then I’ll leave it to you. Find out what’s going on in that household and report to me. Once we know for sure that Dazai is in an unsafe place, we can act on it.”
Snape nodded, and everybody was dismissed. He walked up to the headmaster's desk. “You wanted to speak with me?”
“Yes. This is concerning the illegal documents you found. How… Did you find those?”
“Ah.. I just randomly came across it. I hadn’t realized they were illegal after I looked at them. I’ll take responsibility for my actions. Please punish me as needed.”
“No, there is no punishment necessary. I am, however, very displeased with you. For now, I’ll let this go. There will be no more looking at illegal documents I presume?”
“Of course.”
“Good. You may go.”
He walked out of the room, the doors closing behind him. He grit his teeth, maddened
