Chapter 1
Some wizarding families had distinctive traits.
The Malfoys and Lovegoods had blonde hair so pale it was almost white.
The Weasleys were redheads with freckles.
The Blacks had steel-colored eyes.
And the Potters…the Potters sported curly hair that was a unique shade of silver and eyes that were various shades of purple, from lilac to the deepest shade of purple. Because of that, it could be said that the Potters were one of the wizarding families that hung out the least with non-magicals. After all, after much searching, only Potters had silver hair.
Something that definitely wouldn't appeal to non-magicals, note the sarcasm.
But they kept another secret. Dragons and Potters had a special bond. A bond that defied everything that was known of these noble creatures. Dragons never attacked a Potter. Dragon fire never burned a Potter and with them they behaved like great pets.
Of course a bunch of reckless assholes tried to enslave dragons in hopes of turning them like the Potters. But when the casualties piled up, having dragons became illegal. And the Potters celebrated, dragons weren't slaves that could be used at the convenience of wizards. They were partners and friends, to the Potters, but no one else understood.
Still the family with silver hair and an affinity for dragons remained. Even when James and Lily Potter were killed, the family would remain
Harriet Potter would remain, but with no one to tell her about the secrets of the Potter house and with a magical Guardian who sealed the vaults with the journals detailing those secrets "for the greater good." He hadn't even read them, trusting that James had told him everything.
The poor fool didn't know that James hadn't told him a tenth of it.
Among other things, he did not tell him about the existence of Westeros, such as traveling between worlds, the connection of the Potters with the Dragons, how they knew High Valyrian as their mother tongue, ... And James Potter never told Albus Dumbledore that his real name was Jaerelyx Targaryen
------------------------------
Harriet Potter looked at the Gringotts letter. The luminous orchid-eyed, silver-haired beauty commanded more attention than most Veela. She was the kind of delicate beauty that was almost painful to look at. Her hair had never been cut because her aunt Petunia had talked about selling it when she was younger. Later, after entering the wizarding world, Harriet was pleased to inform her aunt that it was illegal to cut a witch's hair and that it was a crime punishable by death. Her eyes were a brilliant orchid color and alluring as rare and precious gems.
In addition to the fact that she had inherited the face of fine features and the shape of her mother's heart, with the aristocratic touches that only came from centuries of inbreeding from her father. Curls that were adorable from a certain length and not untamable. Her grandmother's high cheekbones from the Black family. Her mother's big eyes, as well as her lips and nose. And skin that hadn't been tainted by any freckles. The only apparent flaw was the small scar on Harriet's forehead in the shape of a lightning bolt.
Lavender and Pavarti also glared at her given how easy it was for the girl to be perfect in the morning just by washing her face and brushing her hair.
- What's up, Harriet? -Hermione looked at the letter
-Apparently, since my name has entered the tournament of the triwizard I am an adult legally and magically. So I have access to the rest of my vaults and I have to read certain family diaries.
Harriet knew that Hermione wanted to read that. She wanted to read the Potter family books
- Hermione, you know that if I could…. - Hermione nodded.
-I know, but that there is knowledge that is not accessible to everyone. It is something that frustrates me, knowledge should be public
- That's because they are specifically adapted to the magic of the Potter family. --Neville said. - If other mages tried their spells they would most likely fail spectacularly. Also, currently many of those spells have already been superseded by spells that any bloodline can use.
----------------------
The director of course refused. Harriet already knew that the man wanted her ignorant and loyal. The less she knew, the fewer options she would have and the more she would have to trust him. But Harriet wasn't stupid, she never had been. She knew that even the library was censored for her to be the pawn he wanted her to be.
Foolish
She had access to Salazar Slytherin's private library in the Chamber of Secrets.
She was also fully aware that both Ron and Hermione reported information about her to Dumbledore. Not out of malice, simply because they cared for her, as she had heard them say under the invisibility cloak. Like every Slytherin in the school she knew informed their parents whether they were Death Eaters or sympathizers. Everyone seemed to think that the war game was between Dumbledore and Voldemort.
That was why Harriet had taken pleasure in playing the role of the pretty silly girl. Average intelligence, powerful magic, not much interest in her studies, interested in having fun, dressing up and making friends. Dumbledore and Voldemort thought she was a piece in their private game when they were nothing more than pieces to her.
But they were powerful and could crush her if she wasn't careful. Dumbledore must die, that was clear, and so would Voldemort, preferably after Dumbledore. So the old man wouldn't use Voldemort's death to his advantage. And there was no guarantee that Dumbledore would keep the piece of him after the war was over. Harriet was no fool, the man sat on a fucking throne in front of a school of impressionable children. If that didn't give him an image of power in the minds of all the wizards he had raised, Harriet didn't know what would. The man was thirsty for power and would do anything to keep it or gain more. After all he was the head of the Wizenmagot, he held his position in the ICW and he was the principal of a school, how many men could hold those three important positions without going insane?
But Harriet was no fool and she asked permission from the only woman she knew for a fact that she would do her best to help her. The Weasleys might as well be Hufflepuffs in their foolish blind loyalty to Dumbledore. They were the best of people and they would believe in thei hearts that Dumbledore always had the best for the world and not for himself until tho old man had proof to the contrary. But they were also the gossipiest people Harriet knew and that was good, because the dress that Mrs. Weasley had bought for Harriet was too small for her and…. Mrs. Weasley had no taste in dressing people, no taste at all. Silver on silver, a little more and she would look like a chandelier in one of those elegant houses, with a very risky neckline thanks to the tightness of the fabric
So the next day a well-intentioned Mrs. Weasley went to the headmaster's office with Professor Minerva McGonagall and the two of them had a discussion with the headmaster. Especially since the feline animagus was furious to learn that Dumbledore wanted to deny Harriet access to her inheritance. Harriet guessed that after the tournament Dumbledore would have tried to take away her legal adult status before the Wizenmagot. In addition to that Molly Weasley gave him a class on female anatomy and the changes during puberty that girls experience.
In the end Harriet left the castle accompanied by both women. And so Harriet retrieved the key to her vault that Mrs. Weasley had taken in the summer with the headmaster's permission, much to the professor's fury. Harriet knew the value of those keys and why McGonagall was furious
The first stop was a high class dressmaker Madame Aurum. Harriet pulled her dress out and the woman took her measurements again and she shook her head saying that her dress would never fit her because of the cut and Harriet had grown in some parts. So Harriet chose a layered dress with a cut similar to that of European courts. She also changed the colors and she asked that the fabric from the silver dress be used to make some details on the prussian blue dress.
The next stop was Gringotts and both women left Harriet to mind her own business. The bench was always wonderful, all that marble covered in veins of pure gold. Harriet looked into the greedy eyes of the goblins on her hair. Golden was common compared to silver curls
-Good afternoon sir, may the bodies of your enemies fall under your feet. I'm here for a letter sent about my inheritance.
The goblin looked at her with the most wrinkled nose that Harriet had ever seen.
-We will need proof of lineage
- Is that necessary?
- Yes, this morning a young woman with polyjuice came pretending to be Harriet Potter. She won't see the light of day for a long time and we won't be putting one of our most important clients in jeopardy.
Had someone tried to claim her inheritance? A servant of Dumbledore or a random wizard? Most likely that woman was a servant of Dumbledore, the Death Eaters would know exactly how those things worked. They would know that sending someone was suicide. Apparently Dumbledore had wanted to censor what Harriet learned from her vaulted library. There was the Library Vault, the Relic Vault, the Memories Vault, the Jewelry Vault, and the Money Vault, as far as Harriet knew.
The goblin led her into a room with a crystal bowl held by two gold dragons with diamond eyes that occasionally gave off a small ghostly flare. On the other side of the bowl was a hooded figure that Harriet recognized as Mother Magic. She was holding a chest that seemed to be opening
-Three drops will suffice-. the goblin gave Harriet the knife and waited. Although he was surprised to see the girl cut off her hand with ease. Most warlocks and wizards would be moaning and sore just from that twinge of pain. Instead, Harriet Potter cut herself like it was nothing, earning the goblin's respect in the process.
Harriet was used to pain because of the Dursleys. Too many hits, too many burns. Cutting her finger a bit was nothing compared to what she had experienced
The three drops fell and the liquid in the bowl turned bright red as the dragons turned their heads over the bowl and released multicolored flames. The red color was absorbed by the bottom of the bowl, leaving the liquid transparent. On the other side, the figure of Mother Magic opened the chest in which was a neatly rolled parchment.
The goblin broke the seal with the Gringotts crest and read it with a smile.
-Everything in order, you are the legitimate heiress of James Potter. And now we have one more discussion to come before we allow you to access your new vaults and take control of your wealth.
-I understand. Are they details I should know?
-Do not. Do you know that his ancestor, Henry Potter III, was a friend of the goblin race?
-No, i did not know. --- Harriet was impressed. Very few managed to win the friendship of the goblins and his ancestor had. That meant, normally, benefits beyond knowledge. Because while everyone knew the rarity of being friends with goblins, little was known about what that really meant.
-The fact is that Henry Potter went against the other wizards and released the Goblin King of the time. It prevented us from entering the fourth war between the goblins and wizards for another two hundred years. In gratitude, he was made a friend of the goblins. And Henry Potter asked for three things. Only three
The goblin pushed the parchment towards Harriet and she took it.
-This is bad! My name is Harriet Potter, not Alysanne Targaryen! And my father's name was James, not Jaerelyx! --- Harriet had studied her public family tree. She knew the names, these names were new to her
- That was the first thing Henry asked for. The Potter family is a hidden family. There are eight such families around the world. The Emrys, the Kahns, the Sampedros, the Targaryens, the Atef Farags, the Romanoffs, the Dadons, and the Ayers- Harriet was shocked. All those surnames, except Targaryen, were of very famous wizards and witches. The kind of famous that would make descendants get harassed- All those lines have managed to persist because they hid their real names and surnames. It is part of the treaties we have with the Ministry. -- So legally you are Harriet Lily Potter, but your real name is Alysanne Lilith Targaryen. Both names are legally your name and valid. But in things like engagement contracts and such, the name you should sign under will be Alysanne Targaryen.
-I do not get it. The other hidden names are surnames of sorcerers who marked history. Moon Ayers is known for helping magical children escape from the Salem witch trials. The Romanoffs are the magical branch of the Russian royal family. Lord Levi Dadon created the first Muggle-safe space and is considered the father of protection magic. But never heard a last name like Targaryen
-That is the second wish of Henry Potter, or Shandor Targaryen. Are you open to the multiverse theory?
-The existence of different worlds? Oh…Mother Magic….- Harriet, Alysanne, realized what the goblin meant
- Exactly, twelve hundred years ago. Aegon Targaryen created a portal between his homeworld and this world. To escape marrying his twin sister and be able to freely love the maiden he had fallen in love with. They did very well, as they had nine children and Aegon managed to become modestly wealthy in his lifetime. A wealth that the family was only increasing generation after generation. – the goblin smiled- Henry Potter's wish was that we guard the door between Westeros and our world. Especially after the Targaryens managed to get the throne and rule over an entire continent. The gate to Westeros that we guard is one of two that currently exist. It is the only one that allows round trips. The other one only allows one-way trips and is called the "veil", it is in the department of mysteries
- Am I related to royalty? - Alysanne came out of that fact with astonishment. She, the girl who had a closet as a bedroom for eleven years, was royalty from another world.
- Yeah, that's why she looks like that. Almost all Targaryens have silver hair and purple eyes due to Valyrian blood. An extinct kingdom of Westeros.- The goblin smiled- And his third wish was that if any of his family was orphaned before they had time to explain everything about the family, with no one to educate him, the goblins would take care of the education of the orphan. We do not forget our promises, nor the respect that the Targaryens always show us. So we will gladly fulfill the promise made so long ago, Lady Targaryen.
-I appreciate it, Mr Griphook.
- Do you recognize me? - Most of the magicians could not distinguish the goblins from other
-You took me on my first trip to my vaults, it is impossible not to know you.
