Plans

In the late afternoon Regulus also woke up. With James and Sirius being by his side constantly the whole day, they were with him from the moment he opened his eyes. Effie and Monty were called for them to check up on him just as they did Sirius when he woke up. While they were checking on him James went up stairs. He didn’t want to make Regulus feel too crowded with everyone around him and this way he could tell Freya about it.

“Come in.” Freya called out from her spot on the window after hearing a knock on her door.

“Oh no. You’re sitting in the window. That's never good.” James joked as he walked into the room joining her in the window seat. Turning her head to her brother she gave him a joking glare.

It’s not entirely true what he said, however it’s not completely wrong either. It’s where she can think. The thoughts however are not always good. They usually lead to good music or some kinda insightfully thoughts, so it’s not completely bad when she feels like she has to sit there.

“Haha, very funny. It doesn't have to be bad just cause I sit here. Maybe I just feel like taking in the view. Ever thought about that?” She suggested a different reason for being on the spot.

“No. Cause if you wanted a good view you would just go outside on your broom.” He retorted back.

Freya just sat there looking at him. He knows her too well, she thought. “Fine. Yeah you're right, I would.” She gave up.

“So wanna talk about why you’re sitting here or have you already figured everything out?” James suggested, giving his support to his little sister.

“I was just thinking about all that has happened since last night. But I think I’ve figured out everything. For now at least.” She shrugged, giving him a small smile. “What did you come here to talk about?” Freya decided to change the subject away from herself.

“What?” James simply asked not understanding.

“I don’t think you came up here to just small talk and you didn’t know I was sitting here until you saw me. So there must have been something else that made you come up.” She explained what she meant. She Knew he and Sirius hadn't wanted to leave Regulus' side unless absolutely necessary.

“Right. Yeah, Regulus woke up.” He informed her, having momentarily forgotten about everything else beside his sister.

“Really that's great.” She reached out and hugged him. She was happy for everyone's sake. Everybody has been worried, what if he wouldn’t wake up? “How’s he doing?”

“Well I only stayed a small moment before coming up here. But he seemed to at least not be worse than Sirius so I guess that’s good.”

“That’s good. But why did you come up here and not stay downstairs?” She questions not understanding why he would come up here to tell her immediately. Sure she was worried but she doesn't know the guy.

“Well mom and dad are checking him over and Sirius won’t leave his side until he knows everything is fine. It just felt like he maybe would feel kinda crowded with me also hovering around there. He isn’t that fond of big crowds. So I would guess he's even less fond of it while not feeling the best. So I thought I would come up here and tell you the news instead.” James gave his reasoning. It made sense. Nobody would probably want more people than necessary around them after walking up like that.

“I see. Well you’ve told me, now what?” She questioned.

“I guess wait. It took an hour for Sirius to get checked over so I guess it will take about the same time now.”

And waited they did. They stayed in the window talking and joking around trying not to think about what's going on down stairs and hoping somebody will get them when they're done. It felt a bit odd sitting up there having a bit of a good time whilst knowing what they are doing downstairs but there’s nothing they could do. Neither of them would be of any help there and probably only be in the way.

In the evening everything was back to normal but still so different from before. Both Sirius and Regulus were as fine as they could be, just needing some rest to get back on their feet. The Potter household had now gained two new people living in it. The Potters being the people they are, welcomed the two with open arms.

Days passed. Monty and Effie treating the brothers well and with the care they need making them feel like home. Sirius fit right in to that. Making his room to his liking and walking around the house like he had been living there his whole life. Regulus on the other hand was stiff and tried to avoid everyone if he could. Sticking in his room on his own coming out for food and sometimes to go into the family library. It was nice and quiet there, hardly anybody went in there nowadays. But Regulus trying to keep to himself did not stop James from trying to get him out to do things with the others.

A week after the brothers had arrived everyone was having breakfast with each other in order from Effie.

“So I was thinking. This week has been great but all of you have just been stuck in this house together for a week. So why don’t you all invite your friends over this afternoon and evening, as a way of getting back to normal.” Effie offered the kids, all of them now having their eyes on her but different expressions from them all.

James has a big grin on his face. Sirius looked surprised but happy with the offer. Regulus had big surprised eyes but the rest of the face was unreadable. Freya sat with a small but sad looking smile.

“Yeah that would be awesome. Thanks mom.” James was the one to break the silence. Turning his face he looked at his best friend who was still a bit surprised but soon looked just as happy with the idea of seeing all of his friends again.

“What about you Regulus?” Effie asked, turning her attention to him. He looked confused as if he didn’t understand what she meant with the question. “Do you have any friends you would like to invite over?” She explained further.

“Oh… Umm, yeah sure.” He answered unsure. Inviting friends over during the summer break wasn't something he was used to. “I got some friends I could ask.” He smiled at her.

“Great.” She gave him a big smile. “Freya, why the long face?” She asked her daughter who had been sitting quietly eating her food.

“Hmm? Oh, nothing. Just a bit tired still” She tried to hide her true feelings. She was happy that they could invite friends over but it’s not that easy for her. With all of her friends living in another country they have to plan it more in advance and even then it’s hard to find a time that works and especially works for everyone at once.

“Just tired hm?” Her mother inquired. “So it’s got nothing to do with the fact that you think you won’t be able to meet with your friends?” Freya looked up at her mom in confusion. She didn’t understand what she meant by saying it like that.

“What do you mean? I know I won’t be able to meet with them today, we can’t work it out that fast. But it’s okay, we can just start planning something.” She gave her a forced smile. Truth is she would like to see them today. In fact she wished it was as easy to plan as it was for her brother.

“Sweetheart, do you really think we would bring it up with all of you like this if me and your dad hadn't already arranged for you to be able to meet your friends?” Freya was shocked. Did she mean what she thinks she meant?

“Wha- What do you mean?” She didn’t want to take out her happiness before she was sure she was completely  right in her assumptions.

“I think you know.” Her mom responded with a glimpse in her eye.

At that moment they all could hear the fire from the floo in the other room. As Freya heard it she looked at her mom for a second to give her the widest smile, then she bolted for the fireplace.

She ran through the rooms to get there and stopping in the doorway there she saw her four best friends in front of her. Elli Reed, Nicole Fletcher and Wilma Molina that she shares a dorm room with and then of course Nina Baxter, her best friend since childhood.

Upon seeing them it took Freya approximately two seconds to be over by them taking them all into a group hug. This is her people, her people that she had missed more than usual the last couple days. She couldn’t believe that they were here, that her parents had planned this and actually made it work for every single one of them.

She introduced them to the others in the kitchen since Elli, Nicole and Wilma actually never had been over at her place and then of course to Sirius and Regulus since none of them had a chance of knowing them before. After that they went around the house showing them all of it, stopping at her room for the last of it.
