Green & Shiori
“What are we doing here again?”
Cecilia quietly and subtly gestures to the crowd of people around them.
“Buying chocolates for everyone.”
Shiori tosses a piece of chocolate into her mouth nonchalantly.
“So, why did I have to come along?”
“So I don’t draw suspicion.”
Cecilia gave Shiori a look of incredulousness.
“You think bringing an automaton along with you on a shopping trip would make you less suspicious?”
“…eh. It worked, didn’t it?“
“I thought detectives were supposed to be smart.”
“Heh, not a detective anymore, am I?”
On another sunny morning, rays beaming down on the world they protected, Shiori Novella and Cecilia Immergreen could be found taking a stroll among the people, caught in the masses of the mall.
“…I suppose. Also, why did you buy two boxes?”
Cecilia glanced at the heart shaped boxes Shiori held, one tucked and suspended under her arm, and the other in her hands and opened.
“One for my friends, one for my other half.”
“What?”
“They like chocolate.”
Right as the words were muttered, Shiori tossed a piece of chocolate picked from the box up into the air. Before it could even start its downward descent due to gravity, a black tendril shot out from Shiori’s back and grabbed it, retreating almost as fast as it came.
Cecilia watched the event with a blank expression.
“Alright then.”
“Yep. Oh yeah, where’s Immerred? I would’ve thought she’d be with you.”
Cecilia winced, and tilted her head down.
“She’s… busy.”
“Mm. Gotcha.”
…
In the peripheral of Cecilia’s downtrodden demeanor, she saw a piece of chocolate held by that same black tendril from before. Its own demeanor almost seeming as if it was offering the chocolate, causing Cecilia to look up at her companion, seeing said girl looking at her inquisitively.
“You gonna take it?”
Cecilia chuckled.
“Sure. Thanks.”
“Anytime, Tin Can.”
…
…
…
Shiori blinked as she felt the sensation of a water droplet hitting her skin. She looked up towards dark, cloudy skies.
“Oh shit.”
“What?”
“It’s starting to rain, we should probably get out of here.”
Cecilia looked up to a similar sight as Shiori.
“And how do you propose we do that? Stark Tower is approximately-“
“After all we went through, Green. You forget who I am?”
“What?”
Cecilia looked back down and turned to see Shiori with her right arm engulfed by a tentacle shaped black mass.
“No.”
“You got a better idea?”
“…”
“Well?”
“Fine.”
…
The sounds of a bulky, black, slimy humanoid creature roaming the city and crashing against buildings filled the empty air up high. With a white haired girl on its back.
