0.2 - Scrubbings and confusion

She hopped in the shower, focusing on scrubbing the garbage smell off her while questions replayed in her head over and over again.

*How and why did she land here? What happened that made her forget any memory before being in that dumpster?*

As she finished taking the shower and dried herself up with the extra towel in the room, she realized she didn’t have any extra clothes.

“Shit.” She muttered under her breath. “Harry? Do you happen to have some extra clothes? I could really use them right now.”

Would it be totally normal to ask a stranger you met minutes ago for spare clothes? Probably not, but it wouldn’t hurt to try.

Silence occurred, but the bathroom door opened, showing a hand carrying an oversized sweater and faded jeans. So she took the clothes and wore them as soon as possible, fitting her.

*Looks nice*, she thought, looking at herself through the mirror until a bit of fat in her cheek revealed itself, forcing her to pinch it. *It’s fine, it’s* fine.

As she opened the door, she noticed Harry tending to a beautiful snow owl that was chirping.

“This is weird.” She confessed, sitting on the bed. “You just gave a change of clothes to a stranger you met just minutes ago.”
“No need to tell me.” Harry laughed and shook his head, feeding the owl that was confined in a steel cage. “This is Hedwig, by the way. She’s my owl.”
“She’s beautiful.”

She reached out to pet the winged pet of Harry’s in the cage, but it squawked, causing her to yelp and back off.

*Harry’s owl is goddamn defensive.* She shook her head. “Not to be rude or anything, but am I going to have to wear these clothes every single day?”

“We can buy somewhere outside.” Harry shrugged and petted Hedwig.

She stood up and got ready to leave the room. “Well? What’re you waiting for? Show me.”
