Gringotts, part 3
Error talking

Thinking/X talking
The sound of a throat clearing made the trio focus on the two goblins behind the desk. "I am the Potter account manager, Silverclaw. I understand that the child with you is Harry Potter?" the younger goblin asked. Blue nodded and handed over the Inheritance Test that Banluff had handed him back in his office. Silverclaw looked it over, then looked over Inky. "Well, he certainly looks quite a bit like Mr. Potter." he said gruffly, looking back at the test. "It all seems to be in order. What can I do for you today?" he said in a business tone, putting the test off to the side.
"How does the blood adoption thing work?" Error asked seriously. Silverclaw cleared his throat and waved his hand to dismiss Banluff, the older goblin leaving with a slight huff. "The Blood Adoption would make Mr. Potter your child, in blood and magic. His appearance would change slightly to match yours, and he could quite possibly gain any special abilities you have. He would still have access to his inheritance and titles as a Potter, but the adoption would add you as a sort of third parent, so if you were to pass, he would automatically inherit anything you left as he would be your closest relative if you left behind no will." Error looked down at Inky, who nodded up at Error's unspoken question. "How long would it take for us to do the adoption?"
"It's a potion that requires the one doing the adopting - you, I assume - to add their blood to. Then the one being adopted - Mr. Potter, in this case - would have to drink it before going to sleep. It's best done before sleep so any potential changes to the body are not felt, as I'm told they can be somewhat painful. Afterwards, you would have to visit with us again so we can take a new blood sample and make sure that he is properly marked down in our files as your son. If he isn't then we would have to physically change the files ourselves, but magic normally does it for us. It's just that not all the families have self-updating files. And unfortunately, it is impossible to spell them self-updating after a certain point." Silverclaw said, pausing so Error and Blue could assimilate this information.
"Ok, so what about his name? Would it change when Error adopts him or what?" Blue asked. "His name would only change if he desired it to. I suggest getting it changed though, as Mr. Potter has had many people attempt to use his name for some very unpleasant things, such as the Goblet of Fire and the Triwizard Tournament a couple of years ago. His name was drawn, but I believe the fact that he no longer considered himself Harry Potter at that point is what prevented him from being summoned." Silverclaw replied. "No matter his name, he would still have access to his accounts as a Potter since he is the last one." he continued. "I don't mind, I don't really remember being Harry. I'm still trying to sort through my memories..." Inky said seriously. Error looked down and smirked. "So, you don't mind if your new name would be Inky Miscalculation?" Inky looked up and grinned at Error. "Why would I? Miscalculation sounds cool to me!" Blue smirked at Error. "Told you he wouldn't care." he whispered in a sing-song tone of voice. "Yeah, yeah..." Error said, waving off the still smirking Blue.
"So, I assume that you have decided to blood adopt Mr. Potter? And that he wants his name changed as well?" Silverclaw queried, one hand poised above a stone with odd markings on it. "Yup!" "Yes." Came the two replies at the same time. Silverclaw nodded and pressed on the stone, making it glow. "I require one blood adoption potion, immediately." he barked. Letting go of the stone, it ceased to glow. "Now, do you want to look through the account holdings while you are here?" he asked Error. Error shook his head. "Not at the moment, but I'll set aside some time to do so, as we are going to be here for a while." he replied. Blue spoke up then. "But do you know where we can get a job or something along those lines?" Error looked at Blue sharply. "What? It's not like it'd be a permanent job." Blue said; well, more like whined.
Silverclaw chuckled and said, "Well, there are some options. But if it's a temporary position you want, then I would have to say to apply for the Hogwarts Defense Against the Dark Arts position. The DADA professors there only stay on for a year at a time, there are rumors of a curse on the position. But your son would probably have to enroll there as a student." Error looked up and hummed in thought. "What about me?" Blue asked. "Well, I believe that DADA professors have in the past used assistants to teach the younger years. Perhaps an arrangement like that?" Silverclaw replied. Blue perked up and looked at Error with pleading eyes. "Well duh, besides, what else would I do with you?" Error said, rolling his eyes.
Just then, a knock sounded on the door. Turning in his seat, Error saw another goblin bring in a potion vial that was filled with a murky looking liquid. Setting it down, the other goblin turned and walked out, not even glancing at the three humans in the room. "Here we are. Mr... Miscalculation, was it? You need to add your blood to this potion." Error nodded and handed Inky off to Blue. He took the knife that SIlverclaw offered him and sliced it across his palm, blood welling up instantly. He silently held his bleeding hand over the mouth of the vial and let it drip in, until the liquid within turned a royal blue color. "That's enough, Mr. Miscalculation." Silverclaw said, taking the vial and using a stirring rod to make certain the blood was mixed in well. Re-corking the bottle, he handed it to Error, who held it carefully.
"If you desire, I can have a meeting between you and Headmaster Dumbledore arranged. I would have to go through some third parties of course, but I believe I can get it arranged within a day or two." "Please, that'd be great." Error said as Blue stood up, a very tired Inky in his arms. Silverclaw looked over and chuckled. "I dare say, it's been a long day for the young lad, hmm?" "It has. We should probably be going, actually." Ble replied, looking over at Error, who nodded in agreement. "Is there any other business we have to take care of at this moment?" he asked Silverclaw. "No, nothing that can't wait until your visit tomorrow. Make certain that potion gets used tonight, the shelf life after blood has been added is only about 24 hours." Silverclaw said, getting up from his seat. "Thank you for your time, Mr. Silverclaw." Error said. "Yes, thank you. This was quite an informative trip!" Blue added. "It was my pleasure. I will be seeing you tomorrow. Farewell." Silverclaw replied, opening the door for the trio.
Walking outside the bank, Error looked up at the darkening sky in surprise. "Wow, we were in there for a while." he said, a little shocked at how much time had passed. "If I recall correctly, the pub we came into the Alley from is also an inn. We can stay there for the night." Blue said, walking away cheerfully. Error rolled his eyes exasperatedly and followed his friend. After a few minutes of walking, they entered the Leaky Cauldron and spoke with Tom. He gave them Room 11, and after a few moments of silent fighting, Error signed the book, thus making certain that he was the one paying for the room. Walking up the stairs, they entered their room.
It was actually very nice looking, with a large, four poster bed and a small table underneath the window. There was an attached bathroom, and when Blue went in there, he had the fright of his life when the mirror talked to him. Needless to say, the mirror shut up when Error went in there. Seeing Inky on the bed, Error held out the potion. "Last chance to back out, Inky." he said. Inky just held out his hand expectantly. Error gave him the bottle and watched as Inky drank it all, his face screwing up in disgust as he drank. Quickly finishing it, Inky started to gag. "Water! Need water!" he cried pathetically. Blue handed him a glass of water he had gotten while Inky was drinking the potion. Inky gulped it down quickly and sighed in relief. "That tasted horrible." he said disgustedly.
Error just laid down and pulled Inky to his chest. "Sleep, kiddo." he ordered softly, feeling Inky shift around a little. Blue laid down next to the two, causing Error to blush as he remembered how they woke up that morning. Yawning, the trio soon fell asleep, exhausted from the day.

"Oh my child. I'm so happy for you! But you and your new family must be wary... not everything here is as it seems. Thankfully, Fate doesn't have much control in this AU anymore, after the stunt she pulled with you child. But there are forces within this world that would like nothing more than to see your demise. So please, be careful!"
