Found and Fluff
Error talking
Nightmare talking
Thinking/ X talking
Error stared at Cross uncomprehendingly. "You're telling me that you gave Inky some Skittles, turned your back, and he vanished? Just like that?" Cross chuckled nervously and fidgeted, feeling guilty. "Y-yeah? I swear, I only turned my back for a second, I have no clue how he vanished that fast!" "You do realize that you gave candy to someone that couldn't really handle sugar in the first place, right? There's a reason Inky didn't really go to Candytale after all. And he's a 10 year old now, so you giving him candy basically turned him into a nuclear reactor!" Nightmare said, trying not to panic. They had looked all over the base, but Inky could not be found, but Error had found Cross looking for Inky, and had dragged him to the living room to find out what happened.
Everyone turned when Horror's voice sounded from the basement, where they kept the AU machine. "Alright kid, let's find Error so I can hand you off to him." he said, sounding like he wanted to kill someone. When he came into the room, holding Inky by the hand, Error had to cover his mouth while Nightmare started laughing behind him. Horror looked at his boss grumpily while handing the yawning Inky to Error. Inky looked over at Horror and said tiredly, "Sorry for decorating you, I dunno what happened to me." Horror looked over at Cross, who had his "oh-shit-i-am-so-SCREWED" face on. "I think I can figure out what happened, kiddo." he growled, pulling his ax out from behind his back and chasing Cross outside with it aloft.
Error held back his laughter and looked Inky over, checking for injuries. Inky was thankfully uninjured, though he was sleepy. "Have fun, Inky?" he asked, a chuckle slipping out. Inky nodded and laid his head against Error's chest. "Yeah, I ended up in HorrorTale. I went and apologized to Horror about the food thing, he said it was ok. Then I felt like I had a lot of energy, then I decorated Horror with Aliza's help, then... I don't know what happened." Inky replied, trying not to yawn. Error thought back to Horror's appearance. "Well, that certainly explains the bows and tutu..." he thought to himself, laughing quietly.
He sat down and arranged Inky so he could sleep comfortably on his chest, glaring at Nightmare when he cooed at the sight. Error yawned himself and draped his arm over Inky, making certain he couldn't fall off by accident. He settled back against the pillows and closed his eyes, only peripherally noticing Nightmare pulling a blanket over the two. Closing his eyes, he settled down for a nap; it had been a long day.
Some time later...
"This is adorable. I didn't know Error could be so... maternal." a voice said close by. Error cracked an eye open; it appeared that the whole gang was here. "Wonderful." Error thought to himself. He saw that Inky was still asleep, so made no move to get up, but he did growl when he saw Killer pulling out his phone to take pictures, causing the smaller skeleton to yelp in fright, since he hadn't realized that Error had woken up. "Don't even think about it, any of you." Error warned darkly. He felt Inky start to stir and looked down at the little skele on his chest, smiling softly when Inky sleepily blinked, obviously not awake yet. "Guess you're still tired, huh kiddo?" he asked quietly, holding Inky close. Inky nodded and whimpered, holding his skull. "M'head hurts..." Inky whined, shutting his eyes tightly. Error glared at Cross who looked sheepish; he hadn't known that Inky's body really couldn't handle sugar.
Error sighed and sat up, walking past the sniggering Dust and Killer to go upstairs to his room. At least it would be dark, so Inky's headache wouldn't get worse. Closing the door behind him, he set Inky on the bed, sitting down next to him. "That better, kiddo?" he asked softly. Inky nodded and cuddled into Error with a happy sigh. Error smiled softly; seriously, the little skeleton was so freaking adorable, it should be illegal. "Hey Inky, mind answering a few questions for me? About your original AU?" Error asked. Inky looked up and nodded his assent.
"Who were you trying to save? When I first looked at your CHECK, it said that you felt guilty for not being fast enough to save someone." "My godfather. His name was weird, I remember that much. It started with a S, and I think it had something to do with the stars. I can't remember very much of my old AU though, it's been too long." Inky replied, frowning as he thought. "Umm... I remember these weird creatures. They made it cold and dark, and made you feel like you would never be happy again. And they did something to your Soul, I don't know what, but they did something to it. And a bird. It was a white one, with little black flecks on the feathers. I can't remember what that type of bird was called though. I think it was my pet." Inky continued as old memories went through his mind.
"I don't think there were any monsters at all in that AU, if that makes it easier. Why did you want to know?" "I wanted to see if I could find the guy you were trying to save, so you could have an answer if you wanted it." Error replied. Inky smiled and curled up tighter into Error's side. "Thanks, Error." he said quietly. Error smiled and wrapped his arm around Inky. "You're welcome, kiddo." They sat like that for a while, just enjoying the quiet. "Hey Error?" Inky suddenly asked, breaking the silence. "Hmm?" "Could I... go with you, once you find my original AU? I... want to see if I had any family, like my own Papyrus or something." "Only if I can find someone else to go with us, so there's someone else to help keep you safe. Alright, kiddo?" Error replied, thinking about it for a second. Inky nodded happily. "Maybe Blue? His hammer would scare anyone trying to hurt me!" he suggested, giggling at the thought. Error hummed and nodded in agreement.
Inky was still giggling when Nightmare cracked the door open, causing the two on the bed to look over at him. "Are you guys coming down? It's time to eat." he told them, grinning. Inky nodded happily and slid off the bed, running over to the door. "C'mon Error, aren't you hungry?" Inky asked, looking at his caretaker with concern. Error nodded and got off the bed, walking over to grab Inky's hand. "Alright kid, let's go eat." he said, following Nightmare while Inky walked beside him. "I'll go looking for your original AU tomorrow, ok?" "OK!"
