Ambrosia why do you hiss so loudly
Harry woke up to Ambrosia hissing in her sleep.
He sat up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. His gaze trailed towards the window, staring in surprise at the fact that it was dark outside.
Harry looked around the room for a clock, but there wasn't one. He sighed, running a hand through his messy hair. Waking up in the night like this, his sleep schedule would be ruined for days.
But… it didn't really matter, did it? He wasn't around anyone that needed him awake during the day.
Harry then remembered that he is, in fact, a wizard, and shook his head at himself, before casting a tempus charm. 3 in the morning.
Yup, there goes his sleep schedule.
Harry got out of the bed, gently slipping Ambrosia back into the covers so that she could continue to sleep.
He walked out of the room, wondering about what he should do in regards to reactions about his absence.
There'd obviously be chaos when Harry didn't show for the school year, so he figured he should at least let a few people know. Now, he had several letters to send.
He walked down the stairs and into the kitchen, smiling at Daisy as he saw that she was already in there with a snack waiting for him.
“Daisy, do you have any parchment? And a quill, for that matter? I've got some letters I need to send.”
Daisy nodded her little head and disappeared, before returning a moment later with a stack of parchment and a quill.
Harry figured that the parchment was a bit too much, but didn't mention it.
“Thank you!” Harry said, taking the items and placing them on the table.
Daisy nodded at him, giving a little bow before she popped off somewhere else in the mansion.
He ate his food before he slid the parchment and quill over, thinking for a moment. He nodded to himself, lifting the quill.
Harry began to write his letters, coming to a decision on who he would write to and what he’d write.
He'd send one to Hermione, saying that he's okay and to not look for him. One to Ron, explaining his absence in a bit more detail. One to Dumbledore, wishing him luck with the war. One to Remus Lupin, explaining in full why he wasn't around anymore.
Harry finished the letters with a self-satisfied sigh, and set them aside so the ink could dry.
Harry had also done silly little doodles around the edges of each letter, just to ensure the ones getting the letters that he really was perfectly fine (if a little mentally unstable).
He cast tempus again, and it was around 4:30 in the morning.
He really should go back to sleep, fix his schedule, but he honestly didn't feel like doing so.
The dark and quiet of the night was rather peaceful, anyways. He could live like this.
Harry sat back in his chair, and wondered if it were possible to unenroll/drop out from a magical school like Hogwarts.
Maybe the goblins would have information on how to do that?
He pushed the thought away for now and reached over to the letters, lightly tapping the ink on them to see if they had dried yet. For the most part, they were.
The goblin at gringotts had told Harry to send out his mail through them, but he figured he could wait to do that. And he should probably wait till the school year started to send them out anyway.
Harry looked around to make sure everything was still in order, and once he was sure that it all was, he got out of his chair and left the kitchen.
Harry looked around the mansion a little bit, before he gave up and decided to go back to sleep. He could convert his schedule to a night-based one another time.
He could get more done tomorrow, and maybe read that book on whatever an obscurial was.
As he got back to the room he was staying in, he realized how bland it looked. Maybe he could look for a town or something nearby and get some decorations to make the room more like home.
Because that's what this place was, now. Home. In a loose sense. With some work, maybe, it could actually be fully considered as home.
