The Manor

Harry, ever the graceful individual, immediately fell to the ground once he was freed from the portkey.

Ambrosia wasn’t too thrilled with that, hissing curses as she slid away from Harry’s fallen body.

Harry shook his head and pushed himself up, brushing himself off as he looked towards the manor.

And, woah. The manor was a large house surrounded by trees, partially embedded into the mountain. The goblins were right about that. The manor was some sort of dark gray color with gold lining, and large intricate doors.

Ambrosia seemed to finish with her tantrum and slithered back over to Harry, so he bent down to allow her easier access to her perch on his shoulders.

“𝘐 𝘢𝘱𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘦, 𝘪 𝘴𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘴𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘬𝘦𝘺.” Harry hissed at her, gently running a finger along her head. Ambrosia flicked out her tongue and looked away from him. Ah, so she wasn't quite done being mad at him.

Harry looked back towards the manor and began to walk forward, taking the steps two at a time and approaching the doors.

As he raised a hand and grabbed the door handle, he felt a wave of magic wash over him. It certainly had a menacing air to it, but the magic seemed to realize that he was not a threat.

Harry paused for a moment. He didn't really think about whether or not the manor would be stocked with things like food or clothing. Sure, his trunk was packed for a one-way-trip to the other end of the planet, but he wasn't really sure how long his food would last for.

Harry pushed those thoughts away for now and pushed open the door, his defenses raised and wand in hand.

The manor was clean but dully lit, the doors opening to a long hallway with several doors on each side and a final door at the end of it.

Harry hesitantly stepped inside the manor, closing the door behind him as quietly as he could.

There was a sudden pop, and a house elf with a little flower covered dress appeared before him.

“You is being master Harry potter? My name is being Daisy.” The elf said, bowing her little head respectfully.

“Hey there, Daisy. It's good to meet you. I'm going to be living here now, if that's alright?” Harry asked, putting his wand back in his pocket and holding his hands in front of him nervously.

“Yes, that is fine! Daisy is glad to have someone to care for.” The elf said, and Harry smiled a little.

“Oh, I also have a pet snake and a pet owl. I'm sure my owl will be able to find this place and my snake is right here.” Harry explained, pointing a finger at Ambrosia.

The elf seemed delighted at that information.

“I'm sure master Harry is hungry, so Daisy will go make food for master.” The elf said, and disappeared, leaving Harry to find the kitchen by himself.

Harry let out a small sigh, setting off through the manor to locate the kitchen.

He started off on the left side of the hall, opening the first door and revealing a nice little living room with plenty of windows open to the outside world.

The second door was a smaller storage room, with random boxes strewn about.

Then there was a staircase up to the second level of the manor, on both ends of the hall with the end-of-the-hall door in between them.

Harry pushed open said door, and revealed a massive two story library. He stared in surprise at the mass amount of books, thinking about how Hermione would go ballistic over all the information.

He shook his head of that thought, he wasn't thinking about his friends right now. He'd get all sad over them later.

He left the library, vowing to explore it later, and continued to the right side of the entrance hall.

The doors on the right side of the hall led to the kitchen (Finally!) And another living room/hangout space.

Harry turned back and went back into the kitchen, taking a seat at the table.

Ambrosia slithered down his arm and onto the table, flicking her tongue out as she looked around.

Daisy appeared, and snapped her fingers. A treacle tart appeared on a plate in front of Harry, and Daisy also held a mouse and gave it to Ambrosia.

Harry thanked the elf before he began to eat, Ambrosia giving a pleased hiss at her meal.

“𝘐 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘭𝘧, 𝘴𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘴 𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘦.” Ambrosia hissed, nodding at the elf who stood nearby.

Harry smirked at the snake, agreeing with her. He quickly finished off his food, idly wondering how the elf knew what he liked.

“Daisy? Is there a room that I could sleep in for the night?” Harry asked the elf. Daisy nodded, her ears flapping against her head.

“There is! Daisy can lead you to it.”

Harry got out of his seat, letting Ambrosia slither back up to his shoulders. He quickly followed the house elf out of the kitchen, and up the stairs to the second level of the manor.

Daisy opened a door, and revealed a fairly large room with a bed in the corner.

Harry thanked the elf and walked over to the bed, oh-so-elegantly falling down into it. Ambrosia let out another startled hiss, and he reached up a hand to make sure she was alright.

“𝘕𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, 𝘢𝘮𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘢.” Harry said, falling asleep quickly from all the walking around he’d done in Diagon alley earlier.
