The escape
Harry leaned against the door of his little room, waiting to see if the dursleys were completely asleep. After a few moments of hearing nothing but snores, he turned back and picked up his stuff, slipping his shrunken trunk into his pocket.
He stepped aside and let Hedwig out of her cage, quietly opening the window a bit. He lightly scratched Hedwig on the head, before letting his hand fall.
Harry paused to think for a moment, wondering where he was actually going to go.
“Meet me at Gringotts, hedwig.” Harry said, opening the window fully and letting the snowy owl fly out. He watched her go for a few minutes, almost wishing he could keep her with him as he left.
Once she was gone, he closed the window and turned back around. Most of his stuff was in his shrunken hogwarts trunk, and his wand was in a holster on his arm.
Harry walked up to the door of the room, waving his hand a little and unlocking the door wandlessly. The locks fell open with small clicks, and he paused to make sure the dursleys didn't hear.
After a tense moment, none of them came running out, so Harry pushed the door open, walking out and going down the stairs lightly, jumping down past the step that always creaked. He had to take a moment to straighten himself, shaking his head.
He then made his way to the front door, unlocking it and pushing it open, closing it behind him once he stepped out. He paused again to make sure that none of the dursleys had heard the door, letting out a soft sigh once he was sure.
Now he had to consider how he was even going to 𝘨𝘦𝘵 to gringotts. He would use the knight bus but that was a horrible occurrence that he swore to never do again.
He stood there for a few moments, before an idea popped into his head. He could fly on his broom and cover himself with the invisibility cloak.
Harry looked around the block, before stepping a bit closer to the house and taking out his shrunken trunk. He unshrank it and pulled out his broom and invisibility cloak, before shrinking the trunk again and putting it away.
Harry got on the broom and quickly covered himself with the cloak, and rose into the air.
He realized that he could still be seen if he was too high in the air, so he stayed lower to the ground and flew inbetween buildings. It would be a rather long trip, to get to the leaky cauldron, but Harry was willing enough to get there.
