Part Three

A few weeks after that I received a text from my younger sibling, “You'll never guess what just happened!!”

Curious as to what has made them so excited I simply text back “what?”

They reply with a bunch of smaller texts telling me of what happened. “I was driving home from school like I always do and I saw this hitchhiker.” They say in one text before going on to describe him in the next. “He was a tall and thin older man, with long silver hair and long beard, both long enough he could easily tuck them into his belt. He wore long robes, a purple cloak, and high-heeled, buckled boots. His blue eyes were light, bright, and sparkling behind his half-moon spectacles, and his nose was very long and crooked, as though it had been broken at least twice. And in his hands he held a rather long, thin, and bumpy piece of wood that almost looked like a wand.”
In their next text they go on to explain what they did upon seeing this strange yet oddly familiar man. “I'm normally very cautious about strangers, you know that.” Their message reads, “but there was something about that kind old man that caused me to slow down and stop before him without even realizing it.”
They go on to say, “I rolled down my window and yelled out, ‘Professor! Get in! Sirius Black is loose!’ To which the kind old man calmly replied, ‘But you know, happiness can be found even in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light’ as he got into my car.”
Their next message goes on to explain how they took him when he asked to go and then explain how when they went to drop him off how he handed them something as a reward of sorts for helping him out. They sent a picture along with a description, “he gave me some kind of gold coin, what looks like a chocolate frog, and a box of some kind of jelly beans.”
I look at the attached photo and see a gold galleon, a chocolate frog that I can only guess to be a real enchantented one rather than one of the muggle rip off ones, and a box of Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans.

“I don't think that's just any old gold coin, I think that's a galleon, you know, the coins from Harry Potter,” I text back. “And if I'm right then that chocolate frog might be enchantented to actually hop- also be careful with those jelly beans, when they say "every'' flavor they mean EVERY flavor.”
They thank me for the warning. I decide that since this conversation is now over I should go and tell my partner of what happened to my sibling.
