Part Two

A few weeks pass and my partner excitedly rushes into the house after coming home from work. “BB! You'll never guess what happened on my way home!”

“What?” I say, excited to hear what happened.

“I saw a hitchhiker,” he says. “An older, tall man with a wide brimmed hat pulled down low, a long gray beard, and long dark gray robes. In his hand he held a large walking stick.”
He then explains to me about how he stopped for this hitchhiker, much like I did for the one I saw a few weeks prior. He even goes on to tell me how he told the hitchhiker, “get in we're late” while unlocking the doors just like I did. But that's where the similarities in our stories end.

He told me as this man climbed into the back of the car he lifted the brim of his hat revealing a beautiful blue eye and an empty eye socket where his right eye should be and he responded plainly, albeit a bit upsetly, “I'm not just some wizard you fool, I'm you're god.”

“And where did he wish to go?” I asked.

“That's just it,” my partner replied. “He simply asked that I drive around for a bit. He wanted to talk with me, in person this time. Make sure I knew that he was real and he was there, that it wasn't all just in my head.”

He goes on to tell me a bit of what they talked about and then tells me, “then he went quiet for a bit, so I turned around and he was gone, almost as if he was never even there to begin with. But when I got home I found this in the back where he was sitting.”
In my partner's hand there is an Amulet, one that is hand carved to look like a spear.

“Is that-?” I ask somewhat nervously.

“Only one way to find out,” he says as he puts the Amulet on.

It starts to glow and we both stare in awe. My partner carefully grabs ahold of the now glowing Amulet and gently pulls on it. Sure enough the Amulet separates from the chain, and as it does it starts to change, it grows into a full sized spear.
“Gungnir,” my partner says in awe.

“So I gave Gandalf the Grey a ride and you gave Odin one,” I say.

“I guess so,” he replies. “And as a reward he gave me Gungnir in travel form.”

“Gandalf didn't give me anything…” I mumble back somewhat upset.
