Chapter 8
They were sitting in the parlor flipping through books on dark magic Kreacher gave them from Grimmauld Place and from what Regulus stole from bookstores on Knockturn Alley.
“How do none of these mention horcruxes? It's dark magic.” Pandora said from where she was laying on the couch glared at the book in her hands looking like she was ready to throw it.
“It must be too dark for most people. Even those who frequent Knockturn Alley,” Regulus said as he sat in an armchair with his legs thrown over one of the arms. He chucked the book he was reading into the useless pile and stretched his arms feeling a satisfied crack which made Pandora cringe and throw a book at him.
“You know I hate that!” All he did was laugh.
“Maybe we should take a break from researching horcruxes.” Regulus said instead of grabbing another book.
Pandora looked up at him confused, “And looking into what exactly?”
Regulus swung his legs off the arm of the chair so his feet were on the floor. “The name Helena told us, Tom Riddle. One of the horcruxes is a notebook with his name on it. He’s clearly important. Since he is the one who found the diadem he either is Voldemort or has been a servant to him for a very long time.”
“But Riddle isn’t the name of a pureblood family.” Pandora still looked confused. “You’re right, it's not.” He got up and walked to the coat hanger where he keeps the cloak. Pulling on his coat then grabbing the cloak.
“I know just where to go to find out more.” Pandora looked at him with a look of apprehension.
“Regulus. Where are you going?” He just grinned at her. “Keep looking through the books love, I’ll be back soon.” He apparated away before she had the chance to stop him.
Pandora was practically fuming. She knew he was going to do something reckless and stupid. Honestly he should have been in Gryffindor if it weren’t for the fact his parents scared him enough to beg the hat to put him in Slytherin. He certainly had the self-preservation for Gryffindor. She paced around the room knowing if she doesn’t do something she will get anxious but also wanting to be more useful than reading books that aren’t helping them.
“What I wouldn’t give to have my wand right now.”
“You don’t have it?”
“Unfortunately no, it's still in the cave, I didn’t want to return to get it.”
“Well you need some kind of defense.”
“What would you suggest?”
“A muggle one?”
She felt a grin form on her face. She knew just what to do. She pulled her coat on making sure to button it up and used the floo to get to Gringotts to exchange wizard money for muggle money.
