Raiden
Great Britain,1 year before the Titan War
At the ripe age of 9 Raiden understands, he understands that his father does not, in fact, love him and never will, it’s a hard thing to come to terms with especially for a 9-year-old but after years of being called a bastard or a freak Raiden simply doesn’t have any more excuses as to why his father treats him this way. Raiden didn’t come out of his room for a day after, not that Mr. Adler noticed. Eventually, Raiden had to leave his room to get out of the house. If nothing else he walked into the woods behind his house and didn’t stop until he had reached a little clearing with a pond and some flowers.
Raiden couldn't help but look into the pond and try to figure out what he did wrong. As he looked on in his reflection he realized that his father was right, there was something wrong with Raiden Adler. Raiden scrutinized his reflection for everything his father ever complained about from his too-green eyes and his ugly freckled face. He was too busy deciding what was the worst thing about himself that he didn’t realize he had company until they were right next to him.
Raiden flinched back and his eyes snapped up to the stranger. She was a pretty lady with sharp green eyes and long red hair and weird black robes, when she spoke her voice was kind and soft as she asked him what he was doing so far from home at this time. It took Raiden a moment to realize she was talking to him, so he told her he had just come here to look at the flowers and bees. In response she asked if he wanted her to walk him home, Raiden just nodded.
The walk was long but fun. The girl talked to him and asked him questions about his dad and his house. Raiden answered excitedly, he was glad to have someone so nice to talk to. When they got there the girl rang the doorbell. When Raiden’s dad answered he looked angry and told(yelled) him to get inside the house, before Raiden could move though the nice lady asked him to play in the yard while she and his father spoke about something very important. Raiden went to the yard and tried to hear what the adults were saying, all he caught was something about how his father was unfit to raise a child and how the lady had no right to take his child and, then something about hog warts? (Raiden had no idea hogs could even get warts) .
After that, the pretty lady handed him his backpack with his things and told him he was going to live somewhere new for now. The rest of the night was spent in an office and passed in a blur, eventually, some guy (with goat legs?) came to the office and said that they were going to take him to his mom. After some arguing the guy took Raiden from the office, the lady didn’t look very happy but smiled at him anyway.
—-------------------------------------------camp half-blood 9 months before the titan war
When Raiden arrived at camp he was told he would have to stay in the Hermes cabin until he was claimed. Well, it’s been 3 months and Raiden was still here! It wasn’t really all that bad, he had already made some new friends, and he was even given a journal to write things down so that was super cool! When he got the journal he had written stuff down about Luke, his counselor, and how nice he had been, he also wrote about his other friend Alabaster, another unclaimed who looked so much like Raiden that Luke said they could be half-brothers. Through Alabaster Raiden made a few more friends like Lou Ellen and Ethan who were also really cool!
There was only one thing that Raiden didn’t like about the people in the Hermes cabin, and that was how secretive the older kids were. No matter how hard they tried to convince him otherwise, Raiden had always known Luke and his friends were planning something, something big. At this point, Raiden was just waiting for someone to slip up and spill the tea (as Senlina liked to say).
—----------------------------------------------------the princess Andromeda, 10 months later
Looking back it's only 1 year since Raiden had been brought to America, and yet it feels like it's been a decade. At the moment Raiden was supposed to be with his siblings in the dorms, but he decided to get some fresh air. Looking into the ocean water so blue, Raiden couldn't help but think about how much he had changed, he wasn’t the same kid who would run off at the first sign of trouble.
“Are you done brooding cause Cedric made cookies and if you don’t hurry they will all be gone”
Raiden turned around to face his sister, ”I’m not brooding! I’m just thinking.”
His sister just rolled her eyes and signaled for him to follow her as she walked back to the dorms. Raiden rushed after her, seeming to forget her mocking. As they approached the common room Raiden could smell the freshly baked cookies, he tried to be quiet while he entered the room and grabbed himself one but apparently, he didn’t do too good of a job because everyone knew he was there.
Raiden had barely taken a bite of his food when he was interrupted by his nosy siblings' questions.
“Where have you been”, “Don't scare us like that Rai”, ”At least tell us if you're stepping out”. His siblings all spoke at once making the words impossible to understand.
Raiden just rolled his eyes and took another bite and tried to steer the topic elsewhere. He spent the rest of the night having fun with his brothers and sisters until curfew hit and he went back to his dorm with his roommate and older brother Cedric Diggory. When he arrived he got ready for bed and took out his journal to write down the day's events.
—---------------------------------------the labyrinth, pre-battle of the labyrinth.
Raiden can not believe just how badly he screwed up when he agreed to go into the labyrinth. With only his notebook for company and minimal supplies, Raiden ran around the maze like some mouse doing puzzles for a science experiment. Alone with his thoughts Raiden regrets how eager he had been to impress Luke. He had thought this mission would be easy, just find the stupid string and leave(Spoiler: he was wrong, so so wrong).
And so Raiden is stuck in this dark place, trying to find some way to stay sane and find a way out of this mad maze. So far Raiden had failed at both. Already feeling the effects of insanity he wrote everything down, almost obsessive as he scribbled just how he felt on the soot-stained pages.
—------2 weeks later
3 weeks! Raiden has been condemned to this brain-frying cave system for 3 fucking weeks! He dug his nails into his skin laughing because crying would do nothing. He shook as he laughed, only getting louder as he crumbled and cracked under the sorrow of his predicament. Raiden knew he sounded crazy, but he just couldn’t stop even as tears streamed down his face and his own nails drew blood. At this point, he couldn't care less if a monster came, if he was lucky it would end him painlessly.
Finally, the laughing and crying stopped, and he stumbled and collapsed into the wall. The only things hinting at his breakdown were his tear-streaked face and sore throat. Raiden was too tired to open his eyes, even as he heard footsteps. The soft noise stopped as whatever was there was right next to him, Raiden felt his body being moved and a soft voice but was too far gone to even care.
—-----------------------------the princess Andromeda, 1 month before the battle of Manhattan
It was a normal day just like any other, Raiden was roaming the halls looking for Isra (his new roommate since Cedric had moved to London). Raiden tensed as he saw a raven-haired teen running towards him, the ravenet stopped in front of him and blurted out the whole ship was going to blow and then quickly ran away.
Raiden knew it was probably some dumb prank or joke but something in the intercity of the teenager’s gaze unsettled him. Raiden found and dragged Isra to the deck of the ship, when Isra asked him why he was so freaked out Raiden just told him that something was wrong. It was only a few minutes until they heard yelling and panicking, Raiden wasted no time in throwing a protection spell around himself and his younger brother mainly concentrated on Isra who was still in shock. A was only a second but it felt so long as everything seemed to go up in flames. Raiden passed out clutching Isra tightly as they fell to the ocean.
