Things just got a bit more interesting
—----------------------------------a few hours after chapter 1, magic-aid wizarding hospital
Today was supposed to be a slow day was what Zyran had thought when he dropped by to visit his older brother. However, that did not seem to be the case as Zyran sat in his brother's office while he waited for him to finish the major surprise surgery that had been sprung on him at the last second. Zyran had never expected something like this to happen, and had not, in fact, brought anything to entertain himself other than his almost finished book.
It felt like forever before Zyran was greeted by his brother. Arev looked dead on his feet when he finally finished up on his surprise patients and set the poor children down on the white hospital bed. It truly disturbed him to see someone so young hurt so badly. Thankfully, both kids had survived and would likely recover nicely in time.
Arav wasted no time in returning to his office and hugging his own brother. Zyran was surprised by the sudden affection but didn’t pull away.
“Arav finally, I was super bored waiting for you. Who was the guy you had to heal?” Zyran spoke quickly and eagerly; he was curious about what had happened.
Arav took a second before answering. “There were these two kids that had been badly burned and I needed to help them”
“Oh, are they okay? How old were they” Zyran questioned
“The older one was about your age I think, and the younger one might have been 10. The woman whom I think is the mother who brought them in didn’t give us any details before she left” Arav at the time had been both surprised and horrified to find out that the woman didn’t even stick around to see if her kids were even going to live.
“Really? She left?” Zyran felt the same way: why would a mother leave her kids alone in the A&E?
“Yeah, I know. Didn’t even stick around to see if they were going to survive.” Zyran winced and was about to say something when another person entered the room.
A panicked-looking teenager burst in not even putting down his broom before asking if Raiden and Isra were ok. Zyran gave a questioning glance before waiting for Arav to respond, Arav just asked if Raiden and Isra were the two kids who came in with severe burn injuries. The guy nodded and seemed relieved, before worriedly asking if they had both made it. Zyran quickly told him that both had survived and were freshly out of surgery.
Before anything else could be said Arav took out a notepad and asked the guy’s name and age. The guy said his name was Cedric Diggory and that he was 17 years old. The guy-Cedric was apparently the 2 kids’ half-brother and had also for some reason brought his ferrets(?) with him.
After that, Arav asked a few questions about Cedric and his siblings and answered any concerns Cedric had, after things calmed between them and it was more about waiting until one of the kids woke up.
Finally, after ½ an hour of waiting the younger of the two-Isra awoke, the poor kid looked really confused until Cedric softly explained the situation to him. The first thing the kid asked after registering the information was if Raiden(the older one) was okay and if he was alive. Arav was glad to tell him that Raiden was alive and just asleep. The rest of the ½ hour was spent distracting and entertaining Isra who was a hyperactive child, to say the least.
Mid-way through the 2nd game of Uno a group of three more teenagers showed up all looking as worried as Cedric when he arrived. As it turns out Isra had a lot more half-siblings than just Raiden and Cedric, the eldest of the three(Alabaster?) seemed to lead the other two into the room. All three of them had their own bandaged burn wounds much to Arav’s dismay.
Isra was really happy to see them and even tried to get up before being stopped by Arav. It was only 10 minutes more until Raiden woke up and was brought out to meet the rest of the visitors. Zyran was lost for words when he laid eyes on Raiden because even disheveled he was hot like really hot. Zyran could see Arav silently making fun of his panic from the corner of his eyes, thankfully nobody else seemed to notice.
The rest of the night was filled with banter magic and a lot of card games. Zyran tried his best not to be obvious about his…infatuation for Raiden but by the end of the day, everyone except Raiden seemed to know. Isra had caught on and kept winking at Zyran every time he came within 5 feet of Raiden. Hell, even the ferrets knew! The two animals kept trying to drag Raiden(ever the oblivious) to Zyran.
Zyran has a small feeling that maybe just maybe life just got a bit more interesting
