Moony & Pretty Boy
Sirius woke up completely engulfed in Remus’ body – his legs were wrapped around his hips and Sirius’ head was buried in Remus’ neck. He couldn’t remember the last time he had felt so peaceful after waking up. Most nights were specked with nightmares and even if he didn’t dream he woke up sweaty and cold. That morning, however, he felt comfortably warm and safe.
He blinked his eyes open to look up at Remus who was still sleeping tranquilly. Slow breaths came out of his nose that occasionally turned into small snores which for Sirius were the height of adorability. Remus’ arm was hugging Sirius’ head from behind so that his wrist was directly in front of his face. Thin scars were weaving their way past countless faint freckles and Sirius fought hard against the impulse to kiss every one of them. One day he’d draw a constellation of stars around the scars by only using his tongue. But that was for another time because there was no way Sirius would disturb Remus’ calm slumber. Instead, his eyes focused on the brown leather wristwatch Remus was wearing and discovered that it was already eleven. Undisturbed he snuggled closer into Remus, content to just sleep the day away in his arms.
James, however, had other plans for him, as there came a soft knocking from the door. A second later, James’ head was poking through the door frame, making overly big eyes at the pair laying in bed. Sirius rolled his eyes but couldn’t hide the pure delight on his face. He realised James was about to speak and quickly sent him a shushing gesture. James’ whisper voice was miles away from being as quiet as a regular whisper. He was a loud kid through and through.
Sirius pointed to the door to signal that James should wait for him in their living room. Then, he tried to smoothly detangle himself from Remus without waking him up. The second he pulled a fraction away Remus’ grip tightened immediately and a small giggle escaped Sirius – Remus really hadn’t been joking last night when he said he’d keep Sirius. With some more wiggling and smart usage of pillows, Sirius somehow managed to leave the bed. He looked back and every fibre in him wanted to go and join Remus again. But he knew that James would soon come looking for him, and he was itching to tell James everything anyways.
“Hello Lover boy!” James said in a sing-song voice when Sirius emerged out of his room. “Told you I’d be seeing you the next morning.”
Sirius shrugged and tried to play it off but his grin and blush betrayed him immediately, as always not able hide anything from James. He let himself fall on the couch next to James who immediately pulled him into a hug and sighed theatrically, “Oh, how he grows up!”
Sirius laughed and shoved his best friend off him, “Sod off, you’re not my mum.”
“Well I’m more your mum than you real mother.”
That came so unexpected Sirius actually guffawed, “Point taken I guess.”
James looked at him with languish and took his hand in his own. And he called Sirius dramatic, the lunatic. “Now, tell me everything and spare no details.”

After James was satisfied with Sirius’ recounting, he could finally return to his bedroom where Remus was thankfully still sleeping and turned to his side. He cuddled Remus from the back and let out a content sigh. After pressing a kiss to his cheek he realised that Remus was smiling.
“Hey, are you awake?” He asked and Remus slowly opened his eyes.
“Maybe.” He only said and then he was suddenly turning around and pulling Sirius to his chest.
Sirius let himself be manhandled and kissed Remus on the mouth. “Seems like your body is awake enough.” He joked and pointedly looked down where he could feel a certain hardness pressed against his thighs.
Remus let out a laugh that denied nothing. “I really liked sleeping in your bed.” He said instead.
“Oh, did you?” Remus nodded and closed his eyes again, “Yea, it smells like you and there was a warm body laying on me for most of the night.”
“Is that all I am to you? Just a hot body?” Sirius cupped Remus’ face and shrieked when the latter gave his butt a squeeze.
“Well you certainly have a hot body.” Remus smirked down at him while looking ridiculously sexy. “But I also like your face. You got a nice face, did you know that?”
Sirius narrowed his eyes at him playfully. “Of course I knew that, you superficial bastard.”
“Good.” Remus looked deeply into his eyes and Sirius felt his heart pull. “Because I also like your humour, your smart mouth, your bravery, your big heart and your creativity, next to other things. I just thought you’d accept compliments the easiest if they’re about your physical appearance. You strike me as that kind of guy.”
Sirius forgot to breathe for a few seconds. Guess James wasn’t the only one who could see right through him. Too emotionally overwhelmed to do anything, Sirius buried his head in Remus’ chest. Remus gently let his fingers wander through Sirius’ hair until he was able to speak again. “What am I gonna do with myself if you keep being so sweet to me?”
“Deflect?” Remus guessed and winked at Sirius’ bemused expression.
“Cheeky.” Sirius said and Remus only shrugged and raised his eyebrows in a way that asked, ‘what are you gonna do about it’. “But not wrong.” Sirius had to admit. It was usually hard for him to be deep with people he didn’t know well, which normally included whoever he went to bed with, and even though he felt himself yearn to share his all with Remus he was also rather content to not face reality quite so soon. “You got a nice face too.”
Remus grinned at him and scrunched up his nose, “I did this to myself, didn’t I?” He put a hand over his face but Sirius dragged it away almost immediately.
He tutted at Remus, “Now why would you hide it when you know I like looking at it so much.” Remus wore a faint blush and it was that what moved Sirius to show some of his vulnerability too. “You know yesterday when we were out on the balcony there was a point when the moon shone right at you. Made you look like an angel.”
“More like a monster probably. Like a mummy in the pale light I bet.” Remus tried to brush it off.
“Who’s deflecting now, huh?” Sirius said and Remus pursued his smiling lips as he was caught. “But I’m being for real – it was like the moon was shining just for you. Like it was trying to make you into a small moon too.”
“You give weird compliments, Sirius.” Remus giggled to himself. “But thank you.”
Sirius crossed his arms on Remus’ chest and looked up at him, smiling cheekily. “You’re welcome, Moonbeam.” Remus groaned as soon as the words left his mouth. “What’s the matter, Moons?” Sirius asked innocently. “Didn’t you know that I have a thing for obscure nicknames, Moony?”
Remus smirked and turned them around with a quick movement so that he was on top of Sirius, “Well I guess I know now, pretty boy.” Then he started planting kisses all over Sirius’ face and body and Sirius was quite literally in heaven.
“I like that one!” Sirius said but it was slightly incoherent as his mind was fully focusing on the way Remus’ lips felt as they made their way down his stomach.

Remus left around four in the afternoon to Sirius’ big dismay. As valid as Remus’ excuse was that he was going to be late to his shift at the bookstore he worked at, Sirius didn’t want to loosen his embrace. Eventually Remus could convince him to let him go with the promise of another date.
The second Remus closed the door behind him Sirius melted onto the couch like a lovesick teenage girl, which was partly accurate he supposed. He sighed wistfully and grabbed his phone. James was at training and so there was only one other person Sirius wanted to gush over Remus to.
Reggie

How eloquent. Could I see a picture of the man who is making you even more absurd than usually?
Remus and Sirius had actually taken a few selfies that morning after much of Sirius’ persistence. He opened his photos app and got immediately giddy at the sight of his face pressed against Remus’. After looking at each picture, he decided to send Regulus the one where he was sticking out his tongue and Remus simply smiled at him, devotion deeply etched into his face in a way that filled Sirius with dizziness.

Their date was set to be on a Tuesday which meant that Sirius had been giggly and nervous for the whole of his classes. Thankfully, on Tuesdays he had graphic design with McGonagall and art history with Binns. The former, while strict, was known to have a certain weakness for Sirius, so she cut him some slack when his designs turned out a little shaky. The latter just droned on in monotone lectures and didn’t quite register if his students paid attention or not. Sirius usually wasn’t, but that day he was most definitely occupied differently. His mind flickered between images of Remus’ freckled skin, the scar across his right eye and the feeling of his hands. In nervous excitement he pondered about what the date would bring.
He had lunch with Peter and James in the cafeteria until Lily came to pick him up for a little study session. Their areas of study were very different, with Lily studying Political Sciences, but they had both chosen a course about the political implications of art movements. Thus, they had easily agreed to work together on the midterm project.
“Hi, lads!” Lily said as she approached their table, notebook pressed under her arm. She was wearing a dark green cardigan and a satin black Alice band, fully embodying the academia aesthetic. Sirius could basically smell James’ pining from across from him.
“Hey, Lils. Ready to go?” Sirius said and started to grab his things.
“Absolutely. I’ve got some interesting ideas I wanna share with you.” Lily said as Sirius stood up, “You know how there’s a bunch of Guerilla Girls art pieces in the Tate? If we focus on their impact on the women’s movement we could do a little field trip there. Or I was also researching about Keith Haring and his impact.”
Sirius was as always fascinated by the sheer enthusiasm Lily always showed when it came to her studies. Before he could reply and ask her to give him a second to get his brain in the absorb mode again, James was already talking, “Wow, Lily, that all sounds so interesting. You know I haven’t been to the Tate in a while, I’d love to join you guys.”
“Sounds good.” Lily said and gave James an endearing smile. The man’s face almost split in two by the way he was beaming and Sirius could detect a faint blush on both of their faces.
He had finished packing his bag and so he left with Lily to look for a study room in the library.
They sat down and Lily opened her laptop to show him her research which was quite impressive given that they’d only known of the project for a week. Still, Sirius was also not coming with empty hands and he described his ideas for the type of project they could do in detail. He had a documentary style video essay in mind and Lily seemed immediately hooked.
The more their meeting progressed, however, the more distracted Sirus grew again. Remus had said to meet at five in front of the main entrance of the university – Now it was four and Sirius was itching in his seat. Suddenly his phone pinged with a message from Remus which did not aid the way his stomach was trying to eat itself. Even though he knew how rude it was he couldn’t help but checking his phone.
Hey pretty boy, can’t wait to see you soon. What are you up to? x
Sirius looked over to Lily who seemed deeply engrossed in an article she was reading on her laptop. He used the opportunity to quickly type out a reply.
Moony!!
Cannot wait to have your face close to my face again
I’m in the library studying with Lily, we have this project together
You?
“Sirius?” Lily’s voice came and made Sirius jump. Guiltily, he shoved his phone under his thigh and pretended to be typing something on his laptop. “Yea?”
Lily didn’t seem to be fooled as she raised an eyebrow, “Did you hear what I just said?”
Sirius shook his head contritely and looked up at her. He felt his phone vibrate underneath his leg and it took all his willpower to not check it immediately. “Sorry, I was just taking notes. Too immersed to listen typa thing, you know.”
Lily’s eyebrow shot even further up and she rolled her eyes. “Sirius, c’mon, I’m not stupid. I can see the way your whole face is lit up. You’re texting Remus, aren’t you?”
Sirius had to bite down on his lip to contain the grin that always exploded on his face with every mention of Remus. “Maybe…” He mumbled and looked up at Lily with shy eyes.
“Well go on then,” Lily said and spread her arms. “Text your man. I don’t normally let people slack of during work sessions but I’m a sucker for romance. And Remus seems like a decent guy.”
Sirius snickered and could have kissed her but Lily was already holding her hand up to silence him. Her eyes were back to being fixed on the screen in front of her.
Oh how nice! Or not nice I suppose, depending on the project lol
What area are you guys in? North or south building?
I’m just reading, trying to make time go by faster...
Sirius heart was hammering so loudly he was surprised that Lily didn’t look up at him in shock.
It’s nice, silly!!
Lily is the best, love love her
We’re in south
Third floor, so the sun is shining in from the window over that giant courtyard tree
And you’re a flirt!!! Don’t think there won’t be consequences for making me blush in the library
Sirius was indeed blushing but he didn’t mind one bit. If it was Remus who was making him blush everyone would understand. Not even Sirius could be expected to be strong when dealing with that man. He put his phone down on the table and tried to focus on his research again but he felt the need to check his notifications every few minutes. For some reason, Remus had still not replied to him and ten minutes had gone by.
Since his plan to distract himself with doing research was a big fail, he figured that discussing the topic with Lily might help him pass the next thirty minutes more quickly.
“Lils? What do you think about this piece?” He said and showed her an image of a Guerilla Girls poster on his laptop.
“Mhm,” Lily considered it while playing with her hair, “I like it. Wait let me check if it’s exhibited in the Tate.” She finally said and was back to type rapidly on her laptop.
After a few seconds she looked up again with a grin, “Hey, good news: Seems like they have it, we could- Oh.” She cut herself off and her eyes grew a little bigger.
Sirius frowned and turned around to follow her line of sight. “Remus!” He exclaimed at the sight of the familiar face poking in through the door. Sirius jumped up and ran into his arms. Remus giggled but didn’t waste a second to pick Sirius up and spin him around.
“Missed me?” He asked after putting Sirius back down again.
Sirius rolled his eyes, “As if you even have to ask, tosser.”
“Good. Because so did I.” Remus said and let himself be pulled to their table by Sirius.
“What are you doing here? I thought we were going to meet outside?” Remus’ grin grew into a sheepish smile and he threated a hand through his hair. “Well, I was also at uni and couldn’t resist when you told me your location. Couldn’t wait to see you, as established.” Remus said and Sirius was practically bouncing on his chair from happiness. “The more I think about it I feel like you told me that on purpose.” Remus mused and tightened his grip on Sirius’ hand. “Feels a little very convenient that you coincidentally not only said the building but also the floor you’re on.”
Sirius put his palms up in fake innocence, “I don’t know what you could mean...”
Before Remus could tease him some more, Lily coughed from the other side of the table which got Remus’ attention, “Lily! Hi! Sorry for disturbing your studying. I’d hate if someone did that to me.” He stood up and gave her a quick hug.
“All good, Remus. It’s not like that guy was able to focus anyways.” Lily said and pressed her fingers to her lips in a knowing gesture.
“Hey!” Sirius exclaimed, “Don’t call me out like that.”
Remus turned around to Sirius and poked his tongue into the inside of his cheek while grinning and nodding slowly, “Aww, is that so? I wonder what took your attention like that.”
“Oh, I bet you’d like to know.” Sirius said and leaned back in his chair.
Remus snickered and shook his head at Sirius lovingly. “Anyways, Lily, I was wondering if I could kidnap Sirius a little earlier than planned. Is that alright with you?”
Sirius cleared his throat, “I don’t need permission from anyone!! I’m an adult.”
“Sure you are.” Lily said and Sirius didn’t miss the slightly impressed look Remus sent her, obviously not expecting her to join in with his mocking of Sirius. “You may, Remus, but please try to let him keep his sanity.”
“Hey!” Sirius exclaimed again but was ignored by both of them.
Remus was instead pointing at one of the stickers on the back of Lily’s laptop. “Hold up, is that a sticker of Frankenstein’s monster?”
Lily closed her laptop a bit to have a look herself and proudly said. “Yes, I absolutely adore the book.”
Remus nodded appraisingly. “Me too, it’s one of my favourites actually.”
“Really? I was going to read Dracula soon, have you read it yet?”
Sirius adored watching the glistening in Remus’ eyes when he got excited. “No, I haven’t, but I’ve also been meaning to.” Remus said grinning. “We should both read it and then discuss.”
“I’d love to.” Lily said and put her hands around her laptop screen to pull it upright again. “Now off you go, lovebirds. Some of us have real studying to do.”
Sirius didn’t have to hear that twice and jumped up from his seat. Already having packed his things while Lily and Remus had been talking, he only pressed a kiss to Lily’s cheek and was already taking Remus’ hand to pull him out of the room.
Remus affirmed his grip and waved at Lily as he was giggling. “Bye, Lily. Hope to see you soon!” Remus called and then Sirius was shutting the door behind them and pressing Remus against the wall to kiss him stupid.
