A visit

“Dear Moony,

How are you, mate? I haven´t talked much to you since leaving Hogwarts. I apologize. I guess I just want to see you again and sit down to talk. I have so many things to tell you. Would you be amenable to meet on Monday the 10th?

Best regards,
Padfoot!”

Remus was weirded out by the letter he received. He knew for sure that it was Sirius handwriting, but it was so unusual to read the words “apologize” and “amenable” coming from him.

He was amazed to not hear from Sirius sooner too.

James had written to him about his plans to go with Lily to Albania and his big fight with Sirius over it.

Normally, he would have reached out already to complain. His silence was way more worrying than his loud whines.

He thought he would get a storm of Sirius sooner rather than later. He never came and instead he got that tamed letter that didn´t foresee any attitude from him. He was even more apprehensive when as a reply he got a portkey and no address.

Alas, being friends with Sirius has always been full of surprises.

Sirius was vibrating with energy the morning of Monday the 10th. Severus kissed him goodbye pretty much amused at his antics to go shopping with Walburga and Regulus. His father has left to attend to business, relieving him of his responsibilities for the day.

He was excited to see Remus, dear old Remus who wasn´t a traitor like James.

Severus had given orders to the elves to prepare a nice brunch and serve it for them in their breakfast table near the pool. He loves eating there near the vegetation and the pool. He had already asked the elves to add chocolate to the brunch dishes and he hoped that Remus liked them.

Soon, the sound of someone landing in his receiving hall took him out of his musings. Remus looked okay, the full moon many days away, some fading grey scars were the only thing that disrupted his appearance as an intellectual calm being.

He seemed to put his eyes on him fairly quickly. He sniffed around him trying to determine if there was something wrong with him. His eyes looked at him suspiciously but still embraced him in a brotherly hug.

- Padfoot, where are we? – he said looking around.

- At my home, obviously – Remus didn´t remember where he had heard that intonation before.

- Pads, I know your uncle give you a place but there is no way this is a flat – he said before stopping abruptly.

- Pads, could you tell me why Snape’s scent is all over you? – being now close to him, he could separate the mingled scents Sirius was carrying. It was not uncommon for Sirius to carry other people’s scent after mating with them. This time it was way more difficult than before because the scent seemed like it have been there for long time and renewed recently.

- Oh, well, about that – he dodges his eyes – maybe it would be better if you come with me to the garden, everything’s ready. I did say sit down to talk after all.

He decided to not push and let himself be taken to the garden of what he could tell was an expensive and old manor in the countryside. The weather was warm outside and there were many flower bushes, and he could feel the scent of fruits further away.

He was refreshed while being sit by the pool. He only stops the scanning of the place to give Sirius his best stern stare.

- I guess I have something important to tell you, Moony – he said guiltily – I guess you already know that I fought with James.

- I do, what does that have to do with you living here, where are we? – he was really intrigued at this point.

- Mooney, welcome to Black Manor – Remus had venture for a cup of tea and his hand trembled so much that he almost spilled it.

- What the hell, Sirius? – he stood up frantically – I’m gonna get killed!

- Calm down, Mooney – he said soothingly while holding him down – Everything’s fine, nobody dares to do anything to you while being in my home.

- Your home? – he was stunned by that.

- Yes, my home, Black Manor is my new home Mooney, nobody would dare to do anything to one of the best friends of the Heir – he said flashing him a grin.

- The what? Sirius what are you talking about? – he was utterly confused at this point.

- Well, that’s what I wanted to tell you – he said sheepishly – I have been reinstated as the Black Heir, this is all mine again, unless my parents overrule me, I’m in charge of all this – he said looking at the expanse of the plantation further away.

- How? Siri... – he said his name softly – did they made you do something you didn´t want to? – he was worried about him, it shined in his eyes.

- Remus, nothing happened, I swear – he said trying to reassure him – well, I had to do something actually.

- What is it? – Remus knew well that face Sirius was sporting, he was in for a wild ride.

- Well, I just, you know, got married – he said in a mosquito voice that Mooney caught too well.

- You! You got married? But to whom? – Remus’s eyes widen in realization – You married Snape? What the fuck Sirius?

- Well, yes, he is my husband now, Severus Black – he savored the name in his tongue.

- Did they make you marry him to reinstate you? – he was not convinced.

- No, Mooney, I married him before knowing that I could be reinstated. He even proposed to me!

- No way! – Remus was in an alternative dimension, there was no other explanation for this turn of events.

- Well, I was the one to propose living together – Sirius pouted – Severus was offended that I wouldn´t marry him first, so I married him so he could be happy.

Remus’s mouth was hanging open. It was impossible, Sirius married to Snape? And they haven’t killed each other?
- How long have you been married? – he asked.

- Well, today is the tenth and we got married on the twenty first of June. So, twenty? Nineteen days?

- And you haven´t killed each other – Remus was out of it – are pigs flying? – he was so dramatic as to try to see the sky.

- Don´t be ridiculous, Remus – he clicked his tongue reproachingly – of course, I wouldn´t hurt my husband.

- Your husband? Severus Snape is your husband – Remus repeated like a broken recorder.

- Yes, although he is Severus Black now, and he is actually a Rowle-Prince by birth. The best pedigree out there, truly – he said full of pride.

- You haven´t reach out to me to complain about James because you’ve gotten yourself into marrying Snape? – he was out of it.

- Well, actually, I married Sev all thanks to James – Remus raised an eyebrow at that – He was being a meany Remy, he mock me for not being a Heir anymore – Remus gasped, he knew that his family was a sore spot for Sirius – He said that I couldn´t understand why he wanted to go and marry Lily, so I decided I had to prove that I could live that type of life perfectly he was looking for. I went and asked Severus, we got married, we spent a beautiful honeymoon in Paris and then we came back, and my mother fell in love with Severus and then reinstate me as an heir. I know it was because I married Sev and not a muggleborn that would ruin our family lineage, I bagged myself a nice bride. Severus is my husband, only ever touched by me. – He finished his little speech with a wide grin, like a dog wagging his tail.

- Oh, Merlin, I need a drink! – was the only thing Remus could say.

- Cosmo! – Sirius didn´t lose time and order his house elf to get him a bottle of an old Scotch, Coal Ila, 12 years.

Remus swallowed down his drink in one go.
