Everything turned black (at least for Tonks)
I watched as Tonks took a hair strand and put it in a special enveloppe. She scribbled something on it and she handed it to the man guarding my room. Of course, since he was a man he had to stay outside at all times. I looked at my dusty hair. It looked like a rat nest. Next to me was Professor McGonagall, she hadn’t left my side since we got here. Today was a big day, even though I was weak, they were taking me out. I would finally be able to go outside. I couldn’t remember the last time I had seen the sun. Which of course was to be expected as I still hadn't recovered any memory.
Tonks transfigured into a girl that looked about 15 or 16. She had jet black, straight hair and the same eyes as me. She ripped a hair out and put it in a goblet.
“Now, I know you are still healing but we need to do an ancestry test as well as the DNA test. I know there is no logic behind that but with a DNA test alone you will not be able to enter the magic society. You need an ancestry test as well, so you can access your bank account if your family had one. This drink will grant you the ability to transform into the girl I look like at the moment. We have her exact measurements, so we have brought some clothes for you to change in. We will take you out of the hospital as a civilian and then floo back.”
She handed me the goblet.
“Where are we going?” I asked
“To the bank, to see the goblins. Minnie and I will be by your side all the way.”
I remembered what McGonagall had explained to me about goblins. I also knew now that I would be close to the people who were protecting me. And I was feeling a bit relieved. I took the drink and took a sip hesitantly. I almost spit it back out.
“Merlin, this tastes like cachiad.”
McGonagall smirked as she saw that I started to use her welsh word for “shit”.
Slowly, I felt my body transitioning. When I looked at my reflection in the window of my room, I looked like someone else. Tonks went with her normal look and handed me the bag. It was full of Y2K clothes, very trendy muggle clothes to say the least.
As I put the clothes on, Tonks whistled and took me by the arm. We left the hospital and for the first time in months, I felt the sun on my skin. Professor McGonagall was leading the way and Tonks held my arm, we walked a few steps behind her. I could recognize from the buildings that we were in London. I smiled as I took in the sun and paused for a minute. I closed my eyes and smiled. It felt so good. I felt good for the first time in what felt like a long time. And I felt safe.
“Are you alright, younglady?” Professor McGonagall asked me
I was suddenly interrupted in my dream-like reality and opened my eyes.
"I'm alright Professor, just enjoying the sun. It feels like such a long time has gone by since I last saw it.”
“I am sure we can all agree with you, the sun doesn’t shine often in Britain. But we have an appointment to get to. So if you could walk whilst enjoying the sun, it would be a great help. Plus, your disguise only lasts an hour.”
I nobbed and continued walking, Tonks held me tighter this time, almost pushing me forward.
Soon we came to a busy street where we hurried until we were in front of a big building. It was tall and old but I couldn’t catch more than that as I got gently pushed inside. We had no time to lose. My disguise wasn’t going to hold long. Professor McGongall went to see the goblins. She talked to one of them who was sitting on a huge chair at the end of the long marble path.
She gave Tonks a sign and we entered a room behind the corridor. In front of me, sat a goblin. It was ugly and old. And I was very confused. As Tonks and McGongall bowed, I decided to do the same.
“Thank you for meeting us on such short notice, Griphook.” Professor McGonagall saluted the goblin.
“No worries at all, Ms. McGonagall. it’s always such an honor to do business with you.”
Tonks explained the situation to the goblin. And then he turned to me.
“So you might be a lost heir for all we know. Welcome to Gringotts. We will need you to bleed on this paper and it will reveal anything we know about you.”
“Thank you, Griphook.”
Tonks cast a cutting spell on my finger which caused me to bleed on the paper. Then she cast a healing spell. I looked in awe as I realized that there was no sign of the injury left.
“Now, you’ll have to wait a few minutes before we have the result. Goblin magic takes time, not like your spells. We prefer to live in the moment and not to rush.”
So I just sat there, between Tonks and McGonagall. I was extremely nervous and my leg was bouncing. Professor McGonagall gave me a comforting smile and rested her hand on my bouncing leg. Tonks on the other hand, put her hand on my shoulder.
“You’ll be alright.” They both whispered.
After 15 minutes, the goblin came back. Holding the parchment with shaking hands.
“I am glad you are all sitting” He spoke with a nervous smile as he handed me the parchment. The two women were reading at the same time as me. Professor McGonagall was reading out loudly. A habit she had from being a teacher.

When I had finished reading. Tonks had fainted on the floor. And McGonagall looked like she was about to tear up.
