Blast from the Past

It worked. It actually worked. Harry and Neville were in 1970. Unfortunately, this came with a few issues. They had no shelter and they needed to get registered- not only with Hogwarts but with the Ministry of Magic too. The shelter didn't take long. They apparated to Godric's Hollow, and bought a house. To do this, they casted an illusionary spell to appear like a couple of middle aged muggles. After all, they were technically now ten year olds again and couldn't buy property in such a state. Purchasing the actual house was easy, as all it took was a couple of confundus charms. After purchasing the house, the two went to Diagon Alley, where they bought owls. Harry bought a snowy owl (he couldn't help himself) and Neville bought a Tawny owl. These new companions were named Hedwig Jr. and Trevor Jr. respectively They once again disguised themselves as twenty-six year olds- the same age they had been before they took the shrinking solution. Harry was disappointed to see they had no snowy owls in Eeylops Owl Emporium. When asked about it, the man who ran the shop told them that they had been sold out. In the end, Harry got a screech owl and Neville got a tawny owl. Together they sent the owls with their message to Dumbledore and the Ministry. They asked to talk to the Minister for Magic and Dumbledore together, claiming that they were from the future. They sent a vial of their memories that showed their first year at Hogwarts as proof, as it had obviously not happened yet and memories were hard to fabricate, yet easy for a wizard like Albus to detect if it was faked. In the end, they arranged to meet with Dumbledore and the Minister for Magic who, at the time, was a witch by the name of Eugenia Jenkins.

. . .

February 4th, 1970

"Minister, Dumbledore. Welcome, make yourselves at home." Said Harry to the two people that had just arrived at their door.
"Pardon- the letter was from children?" Asked Jenkins. Her eyebrows were raised questioningly and her voice had an angered edge to it.
"An age reversal potion, I presume?" Inquired Dumbledore, who still believed they were telling the truth.
"Indeed Professor, we appear to be mere children, but we were twenty-six in our time," explained Neville.

"I am Harry Potter. I was born July 31, 1980, to Lily Evans Potter and James Potter who will be starting Hogwarts in a year," stated Harry. "They were murdered by Tom Riddle, also known as Lord Voldemort, on October 31st, 1981."

"And I am Neville Longbottom, born July 30, 1980, to Alice Fortescue Longbottom and Frank Longbottom. My dad is currently in his first year and my mum will be starting at Hogwarts next year." Neville said. "They were tortured into insanity by Bellatrix Black Lestrange on November 21st, 1981 shortly after the fall of Voldemort, who was killed by his own rebounding curse when he tried to murder Harry Potter on the same night as his parents. He is still alive because his mother gave her life to protect him."

"Bellatrix Lestrange?" Asked Dumbledore. "She just graduated two years ago."

"We know."

"You will tell us everything we need to know. Nothing will be left out, especially nothing pertinent to your cause." Demanded the Minister.

"Why don't we show you instead?" Asked Harry

"Take a seat," Neville said to the elders.

Harry took out a round, almost bowl like object. It's metallic surface shimmered under the light, creating reflections across his face.

"Is that my penseive?" A shocked look briefly flashed across Dumbledore's face, but he regained his composure and a clam look settled on his face.

"Er, yeah. You left it to me in your will after you died in '97," explained Harry. "You also left me the Resurrection stone, which was also one of Voldemort's horcruxes, and the Sword of Godric Gryffindor, which I pulled out of the Sorting Hat when the Chamber of Secrets was opened in our second year."

"Indeed," said a voice before Dumbledore or the Minister could say anything.

They spun around to face an antique bookshelf covered from floor to ceiling with books. An old, battered wizards hat lay on a pile of books near the top shelf. The folds in the hat formed a humanoid face. It was a relic that needed no introduction, especially to the headmaster of Hogwarts.

"Well I suppose it's proof enough if you have artifacts from your time," said Dumbledore, seemingly unconcerned upon learning of his early death.

"Didn't we have memories to view?" Jenkins asked, a bit annoyed.

They all turned back to their previous task and plunged into the pensieve filled with Harry, Neville, Dumbledore, Remus's and Snape's memories.
