Three Years Later

Mike looked into the lounge he stopped in surprise "Dee!". From the kitchen Nancy ran out "oh my god Mike, you've grown so much". Mike grinned "well I am 15 now, three years since Hawkins". Nancy smiled "I know. You didn't think I'd forget your birthday did you, I've never missed your birthday" Nancy handed over a gift bag. Luna and Rolf came out of the kitchen with Lorcan and Lysander "surprise". It was true Nancy had never missed Mike's birthday.

Ted and Karen entered the living room "I new they'd come, didn't I tell you" Karen hugged Nancy and Dee "I was so sure, that I bought an absurd amount of bacon, the kid in the shop must have thought I was crazy". The petals that covered Dee's mouth opened.

The front door opened and Joyce and Hopper entered the living room with Jonathan and Will. Lucas and Dustin came from upstairs Dustin was still dressed as a knight, holding a cardboard sword "we heard voices, so we put a stop to our daring quest and came downstairs, hay Dee and Nancy are here, are we eating yet?" Dustin asked "I'm starving, the food smells amazing Mrs W". Karen shook her head in mock exasperation "you and your stomach Dustin, we're still waiting for Terry and El along with Newt". Luna laughed "you know what he's like, he's probably got sidetracked, I'll go and get him".

Finally everyone had arrived, Luna spoke "if people would like we could eat in the briefcase, it might be a bit cramped here, with all of us". It was soon decided, and everyone grabbed a selection of plates and went into the briefcase, Rolf waved his wand and a long table set it's self. Everyone laughed as El carried 12 plates by making them levitate in front of her, her hair hung in loose curls halfway down her back. She sat next to Mike, her hand in his. Everyone smiled as they sang happy birthday.

Mike held up his glass and everyone quietened down Mike looked round the table and nodded, everyone knew what he was going to say. It was an unspoken tradition, and he spoke "to family". Everyone held up their glasses and responded "to family".
