Chapter 7

~Y/n~

I couldn't sleep well last night. My mind was filled with a lot of thoughts. Mostly, if I was being delusional, or I did like Draco. I never used to get nervous around him because I talked to him like I would talk to Harry or Ron. I realize now... I was acting. Somewhat hiding my feelings about what I was with him. I mean, I'll still have to do so it's not like he likes me back. And if he found out I liked him... he'd probably just laugh at me.

As I was getting ready in my dorm, Ginny pointed out how I looked better than usual. I glared at her but it was because I decided to braid my hair and do my makeup. I always wear makeup to school but never enough for it to be noticeable. I wore a nude color lip gloss that was slightly pink and had brown eyeliner on. I usually don't wear this but...

It doesn't matter, I can't take it off now. Besides, Ginny is right. I look rather nice for once. Draco told me to meet him at the left exit of the castle, that is where the path to Hogsmeade was. There was no longer any snow on the ground, so we could probably walk there, It wasn't very far after all.

Draco told me earlier that his father was going to take him out of school for a bit, so this was the last trip to Hogsmead for a while. I asked him where he was going but he didn't answer, and I didn't push it. One time we were getting butterbeer and I mentioned the fact that my father took me and my sister out for hot chocolate at times like these.

He didn't respond for a few seconds, and then asked: "Your father took you out?" As if his father had never done the same. I realized that his father was a death eater, and was also in Azkaban at the time, so I just nodded. I remember him saying that his father never took him anywhere unless it was important. He only ever went to Diagon Alley and wasn't allowed to make many choices for himself. When he grew older he did so, but he missed out on that when he was a kid.

I didn't say anything about it after that.

"Hello, Granger." I heard from behind me, Draco started to walk beside me as we made our way out of the castle. We walked in silence, I kicked a few rocks and he decided to make it a contest by seeing who could kick it farther.

I kicked the rock as far as I could, and continued to walk to it, "Are you leaving for a long time Malfoy?"

"Why? Are you going to miss me?" He smirked, kicking the rock even farther.

"No, I just want to know, otherwise I'll have to bother Ginny to take me to Hogsmeade"

He chuckled as we walked. The rock was kicked off into some bush, and we didn't bother to play again. Occasionally I would walk on a stone stuck in the path and bump into him slightly, but he didn't seem to mind. But he never answered the question.

As we made it to Hogsmeade, Draco was the one who suggested getting Butterbeer first. Usually, I say it and drag him alone, but something about him today was...different. He seemed happier than usual. Usually, all I get from him are smug smiles and sarcasm. He pulled my arm to the Three Broomsticks and got me a Butterbeer and pumpkin pasty.

"Eat it on the way, Come on I need to get ink." He pulled me out of the store as soon as the pastry was handed to me.

"Malfoy what has gotten into you-'' We were out the door in moments, my butterbeer almost spilling. Almost. We walked into Scrivenshaft's Quill Shop, it seemed that the owner rearranged the store a bit. Draco went off to find some ink, and I looked around, sipping my butterbeer. As I wasted by the door, and watched Draco buy his ink, I looked out the window of the shop. Down the street was Gladrags Wizardwear, a clothing shop Hermione and I visit sometimes during the year. But in their windows was some beautiful jewelry. I normally don't wear jewelry because I fidget with them a lot and they break...

"What are you looking at?" Draco left over my shoulder, his face next to mine as he tried to figure out what my eyes were set on, "Do you want to go to Gladrags?"

"...I'll just look around..." I said taking his arm and pulling him out of the store and into the other. When I let go of his arm I went straight for the hats they had displayed on the corner of the room. Hermione told me that when you shop for clothes you have to go through the entire store, that is how you find the good stuff. Draco followed me, pointing out nice things, but like I said, I was going to just look around.

As I got to the jewelry, I stayed a bit longer. Admiring the jewels and pendants on the mannequins. They were stunning, I didn't think I would want one. My eyes were set on this one rose gold necklace, with a tiny pink stone as the pendant. It was small but beautiful.

I shouldn't get it. I wouldn't even wear it.

Liar... I would wear it all day...

"Do you like any of these?" Draco asked me, his hands in his pockets, I shook my head, turned away, and headed for the door. I didn't want to waste any more time contemplating. I would end up wasting my money...

"Do you want to go anywhere... else?" I turned around and Draco wasn't there, "I swear to god if you scare me..."

I looked around the area for a good 3 minutes until I saw Draco walk out of Gladrags with a bag. I huffed and walked over to him, "What took you so long? You could have told me you were buying something, I would have waited-"

"Oh come now Granger, I was gone for two seconds." He smirked and started walking to the exit of Hogsmeade. I sighed and followed him. Walking beside him, I wondered what he bought. I can't think of anything he would need to buy...

Come to think of It I saw him walking with Pansy Parkinson the other day...and they went to the yule ball together...

"...What did you buy?" I asked, fidgeting with my thumbs behind my back. I don't know why I was this nervous.

He didn't look at me, "Nothing important."

This confirmed my suspicions. He was buying something for Pansy. I felt... not happy, but not sad. Jealous, I suppose.

"Oh." My voice dropped, it was obvious but I tried not to make it seem like I was jealous over this, Draco would never shut up about it. I looked everywhere but him, searching for something to bring up to lighten the mood, or at least, my mood. "The sun's setting, I suppose we should head back to our common rooms."

Draco nodded and as we reached the entrance to Hogwarts, he stepped in front of me and held the door open. I furrowed my brows but walked through, "What happened to slamming doors in my face?" I asked, waiting for him on the other side. He shrugged. We continued to walk until the moving stairs where we stopped and waited.

"You haven't been talking a lot today, has George given you one of his fainting fancies?" I joked watching the stairs move from place to place, none of them came to where we were.

"...Actually-"

I cut him off, starting to clench my fists a bit. "You must be nervous."

He tilted his head, looking at me, "About what?"

"About giving it to Pansy." I nodded to the small bag in his hand, the one from the clothing shop. He lifted the bag with furrowed brows but smiled.

"You think this-"

"I know it is. It's written all over your face." I huffed and crossed my arms, looking at the other slightly. I saw a staircase come out in the direction and was about to get on it but he pulled me back by the sleeve of my shirt.

"Are you jealous, Granger?" He asked and I glared at him, he started digging through the bag.

I looked away, "Not in the slightest, I'm annoyed because now I will be stuck here because–"

When I looked back at him he was holding a necklace, the one that I had been staring at. The same rose gold, with a pink stone necklace that I tried to trick my mind into thinking I hated it. I loved it.

My eyes widened and my hands dropped to my side, "What are you doing with that?" I said trying to hide the awe in my voice, "Pansy wouldn't like something like-"

He stopped me, "It's not for Pansy."
